They had them for Easter as my birthday voucher was burning a hole in my pocket so I got to spend them that weekend

I don't use Libby, but one of my friends does and she swears by Broward County in Florida. You can just sign up for a digital library card and be a little bit creative with your address. My friend used a shopping mall. But they just send you the digital details almost immediately so no one checks.

Will try, thanks xxx

I’ve got the Covent Garden ladies one on my kindle - must have been a 99p special

Oooo it’s May which means new kindle deals. In my nerd like way I go through them and put any I fancy on a wish list and then buy them through out the month if I need a treat 🙈
I liked The Five but couldnt get through the Covent Garden Ladies for some reason despite loving Covent Garden. and Dnf it

The feel of a book is important to me. The physicality of it. I could never use a kindle for that reason despite their practicality.

Got The Twisted Women's Book Club on audible, has some great contributing authors and I normally love a thriller but I'm not getting drawn in by it. Anyone else listened to it?

I haven’t read any of these books. Aren’t they all really long?! You must have read about 3000 pages this month! And here I am getting irrationally annoyed if a single book I want to read is over 500 pages 🤣
I had been putting off starting them because of the length but I had a holiday this month which meant I could read more! They were also kindle reads which I find less overwhelming.

That's spectacular!
I’m already worried about the reading slump when I’ve finished this series 😂

I just finished Reckless by Lauren Roberts and hope to start Fearless next to finish the trilogy. Is it the best writing in the world, no? But I'm a sucker for enemies to lovers and the ending of Reckless (#Book2)oh myyyy, Kitt says as punishment Paedyn will have to marry him?! eeeeeeeekkkk nooooooo. I want Kai and Paedyn to be endgame., I need to see how the trilogy ends. Is there anyone else here who enjoyed this trilogy? I wasn't sure what to think, initially, I picked up Powerless in the supermarket last year for a fiver, and I did enjoy it as a bit of tropey fantasy as a palate cleanser between my usual murder mysteries 😅 I don't see as many people talking about this series compared to say ACOTAR or Fourth Wing.

And speaking of ACOTAR, I still need to read the Silver Flames book. It's on my TBR.

Oh thats such a weird comparison. Theyre definitely not alike at all. I didnt like the mafia at all but I can see why it went the way it did when I realised there was further books.

Did you see Brynne Weaver has a new book being released as part of another trilogy? Ive read B&B but not the other two but I do own them so really should get to them ha.
Ooo I didn't know that. I will have to check it out. Thanks!

I exported my list of kindle books into a spreadsheet today. Added physical books, found about 10 duplicates so the physicals are in a pile to get rid of. I then went to Goodreads and looked up all the ones marked as read. I’m left with 895. Some of these kindle books will be utter tripe freebies but I’ll gradually whittle that down between reading. Then I went to collect 3 reserves from the library.
Would you mind sharing how you did it? I can only see how using Amazon. Or is that how you did?

Quick read, did it in a day. It's odd...I'm not sure I got it 🤣

Each chapter is from a different POV and they are all talking about different things, and yeh I think I'm too basic to enjoy it 🤣🤣
i dont do romance or crime so again... happy to say IDT there's a single one out there for me.. hey thanks Jeff for making it easy to boycott you.

We read The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox for Tattle Book Club. It was my 1st Maggie O Farrell and I dont think Id rush to read another. I didnt hate it but the style of writing didn't click with me. It was a relatively short book and I remember finding it a bit of a slog.
Seconded! I haven't tried any of the others though, so it may have just been this book in this style.

I almost feel like i wanted it to go harder than it did? Which is weird for a book with gory murder, cannibalism and explicit sex. The characters seemed too teenage to me and the cutesy 'opening a restaurant' subplot lost me...I wanted more murder! More freaky killers! Less ice cream...
Ive got the next two to read and Ive pre ordered her new one which also sounds promising. Its called Tourist Season.

Yes! I remember seeing the Hilary Clinton/Louise Penny novel and thinking it seemed sort of unnecessary. Both obviously accomplished in their own fields, but did we really need them to join forces? 🤣
I agree that most joint author books are rubbish and usually only done for publicity, I thought the HC/LP book was brilliant. But I love Louise Penny - can’t wait for the next Gamache book.

I don't know about the others but when I was looking for a new Kindle I know that one isn't compatible with Libby.

Libby is compatible with Fire tablets from 2020 or later, plus some earlier models. And obviously later ones. This article was just written in 2023.
