I am very intrigued by Strange Pictures and preordered Strange Houses. They look like a cross between a puzzle book and a novel. Interesting concept. They are stunning! As an aside, I loved Strange Pictures.

Some questions need to be left unanswered, for your sanityI dont know!
I was watching a booktuber I like say how they have had their best reading yr ever they think , all bangers and i was like I think I have had my worst one. I'm not sure if i have really enjoyed a book this yr so far.TBH though I suspect at timesI may actually have finally slipped into depressionI've been reading books from the bottom of my kindle this month and not one of them has been a wow book, theyve all been meh
Ok @mee43 I would recommend the following books:I’ll have a go at most things really - not a great fan of romance/chic lit (think I’m too old and jaded) but otherwise I’ve got quite a varied taste.
I suppose my favourite genre is murder mystery![]()
i avoid the sun as much asI can so cant see that being a problemIf i'm reading a physical book and want to read in bed I put one of those head lamps on!
I had a Kindle Fire for a while after i drowned a Kindle, I don't know why I bought it instead of a new kindle, but it was fine to read on as long as I used the sepia background. Although I immediately ordered a proper Kindle once it hit summer and I realised I couldn't read on the fire in the garden in the sun.
let me know what you think of it when you do! i just finished it today and found it massively overhyped tbh (and hugely indebted to john irving). it’s another one where i’m intrigued by its near perfect goodreads rating.I bought this because of the rave reviews but haven't read it yet. Imagine that.
SLOW BURN?!! the stuff in your spoiler?!! i am here for it!!!!!I'm partway through the new Emily Henry (enjoying!) and a little way in to the new Mariana Zapata (also enjoying!). I love the slow burn in Zapata's novels and this is definitely already providing that even just a little way in.
But (semi-spoiler here I will hide just in case anyone wants to go in blind) it's not a regular contemporary romance (magical creatures incl warewolves are involved) and I'm not normally one for magical creature stuff (save for teenage me devouring Twilight & enjoying a few weird A/B/O fanfictions and Ali Hazlewood's Bride).
I'm guessing £835!Sure, make some guesses!
Just for context - I would buy 99p reads with minimal research, but always crime/thriller/mystery books and I would buy physical books from indie bookshops and not Amazon, even with hefty price differences.
Only clues you get!
Me too like you predicted.Like you @anniemouse I'm also a yellow reader.
I suspect it was. It was a p*ss take of the Gap Yarrrr travelling thing and very funny. Very light reading and quick but a great little book to perk you upI read this in the 90s! It was a freebie with a magazine, I'm sure of it!
Me neither. I preferred Hamnet but also found that to be a bit of a let down after the level of hype it got. I have bought Esmee Lennox from the offer today but I’m not convinced Maggie O’Farrell is for me.I wasn’t that fussed on the marriage portrait
My guess is £1042Sure, make some guesses!

came here to post this. I usually scroll through them all on day one but It took me over an hr to scroll through 180 pages and thats without clicking on many at all. I hate what they keep doing to the user interface. Most seem to be comic books so just being able to filter them out would helpView attachment 3538162
There are 400 pages of kindle read this month and no way to sort them through typeI usually try not to look at the novels because I want them all

That might not be updated as the separate Overdrive app was discontinued in 2023 and then fully retired earlier this year. So Americans can now get their books via Libby on their Kindle instead. It's the location (of our library membership etc) rather than the app that's the problem!I know but here in the UK they use Libby that doesnt allow use of Kindles.. in the US via Overdrive it does.. from my personal experience.
IDK why that is or how it works . i dont make the rules and I don't fully understand but with say the NYPL they use Overdrive interface where I can view on my laptop and get it sent to my Kindle. Libby I believe and from what your link states is NOT Kindle compatible.
