I’m kind of chuffed that I took the time to put all my books on a spreadsheet as next time I fall into a bookshop I can whip out my phone to checkHad an ad hoc counselling session in the bookshop about my tbr list........
Picked up some books and then spent ages on my phone trying to see if I had them already in my tbr list or on hold from the library. This attracted the attention of an assistant who came over to see if I was ok/needed any help, so I had to explain.
She then told me about her tbr list and bookcases, so I left with one book feeling less like a nutter - knowing there's other people out there who are just as bad as me.

Giving it a 4*. I ended up enjoying it more as it went on. But did get confused with names and whether they were alive, dead or real!that’s a really fair rating, i think i’ll copy youi thought the same, it was a wonderful premise with really involving characters but the 10000mph speed of it all didn’t really help me engage with it. and the ending?! the whole thing literally ended on a page like yes i am very old now and everyone is dead thanks for reading - how an editor didn’t tell him to at least put one more chapter on i don’t know.
I did this. It's such a lifesaver when out shopping
Especially when I can't remember whether I've read a book and donated it, it stays on the list for reference.

I realise I’ve read so much more this year because I’ve read much lighter ‘easier’ books - I’m not totally sure how I feel about that but it is what it is. I think mood and where you are in life influences what you read and can read so muchI have read zero books in May so far! I hate being in a slump but I don't want to force it

Youre absolutely right. I definitely read to suit my mood and time I have for reading. I read mostly for relaxation so do tend to go for the lighter books too mostly

Same, I'm holiday and absolutely racing through books because I picked light and easy reading ones.
YAY i've been approved for the new Jenny Colgan.. on the downside a small press has rejected me for a book nobody has heard of or probably will so go figure..

Got The Twisted Women's Book Club on audible, has some great contributing authors and I normally love a thriller but I'm not getting drawn in by it. Anyone else listened to it?

I could’ve written this. Quite literally was so hyped for it and it fell so so flat. Big fantasy fan so a huge let down. I appreciate the idea in it, but it was so boringly told
Currently reading The Discovery of Witches and I am LOVING it. Been putting it off as the step mum lent it with recommendations and didn’t think she’d have a similar taste to me. Proves me wrong.
got this as a physical arc back in the day. lord knows how.. goodreads?? i recommended it to my library book club yrs later - the librarian and other 2 ladies loved it and we all read the trilogy... we generally thought the 2nd one was our fave... i have since bought all the rest but not yet read them
I liked the first one but didn't get on with the second of discovery of witches! Never bothered with the third because of that. Maybe should go back to them

I have only read the first 3 and I enjoyed them. I found them really bingeable.
