Let's talk about it cos you're making me feel better! I have 187 on my Kindle, and about 50-60 physical books!
You want to feel good about it... I have 814 unread books on my kindle. I think I may have a problem 🤦🏼‍♀️

I knew you would make me feel better about my ridiculous number of books 🥰
I’ve got the day off today and have started the new Heidi Perks, need a quick, easy, but decent read. Fingers crossed this is it.

930 unread books on my kindle 😂 I really do need to do a cull of free books that I got just because they were free. I’ve stopped grabbing free books the last couple of months. I don’t want to count my unread physical books but added 26 to the pile at 66 books last weekend 😂

I’ve got 916 😭 And so many more on my Amazon lists waiting for things to be released/on a deal. Its making me anxious that there’s just ✨ not enough time for the books ✨

I’d love to reduce my physical TBR because there’s so many (potentially) great books on it.. but also so I could walk into a bookshop and *need* to top up my TBR 🫠

Before I really knuckled down and removed my 'bloatware' books I had 580-something books on my Kindle. I cut them down to something like 138.

I just wasn't interested in 580 books. Genres, authors, storylines that just weren't me anymore. Some I truly questioned what made me purchase them. Some were definitely 99p purchases influenced by you lot 🤣

For me, hundreds of books on my Kindle were just "stuff." It was equally overwhelming to find something to read and also to start deleting at first but eventually it became quite easy to be ruthless. I didn't do it all at once. I looked through 50 books one day, 70 the next, 30 the next and so on. I got down to 210ish, then went through again and trimmed it down.

And now the end is in sight!

From now on I am limiting myself to the one book I am reading and 8 tbr. Not a single one over that. If there is a book I see that would tip me to 9 tbr, I am just going to make a list and go back to it. I bet 9 times out of 10 I won't even want the book by then.

I know I have a lot of unreal books on my bookshelf but I have no idea how many there actually are. One thing I do know is that I have quite a lot.

I have a spreadsheet with a new page for every year, at the start of the year the 2025 sheet had 226 books to read on, I keep them on there when I’ve read them though so I’ve now got 205 to read with 59 being physical books. I have ordered my non-series kindle books by the date I bought them and am reading them in date order unless I feel I’ve read a lot of that genre and need a change.

Finished Powerless last night, on to Reckless today :) after than I’ll read Hopeless and then go back to the individual kindle books, Strange Sally Diamond, The Wrong Sister and The Kind Worth Killing.

By that point I’ll probably be on holiday and start The Will of the Many, I’ve kept it for a holiday because I feel it will take some focus rather than random reading whilst walking around the house and on the treadmill etc.

How on earth do you read on the treadmill? Or are you talking audiobooks? I always feel that this time could be filled reading but I've never been able to work out how to do it without dying.

As this thread's No.1 fan of The Will of the Many, it is definitely a book you need to focus on and get absorbed in and allow yourself to savour it. Don't waste it being distracted by the housework or exercise or whatever.

Yeah I went to the gym for the first time in years the other week. Brought my kindle with me and it was a big no to trying to read it

Yes, quite a few of us on here have read it. It's really good and I'm still wondering if parts were based on real life experience

I think the acknowledgements definitely hinted to it! I haven't listened to ALL of sentimental garbage but I wonder how she met Gavin, never heard of Ryan Ferrell before. I mean she did share a flat with him, I suspect the abortion was fictional (basing on she's an irish writer so would get promoted more) but other parts yes

I started the year with 224 unread on my kindle and now have 216. I’ve only bought one kindle book so far and seeing the numbers decrease is definitely helping with those buying urges!

I’ve decided to work through them alphabetically and I’m loving it. I’ve read books that’ve been on there a good 3/4 years.

i read this last year and really liked it but, as said above, was also intrigued as to what aspects of it are true! the whole london section seemed based on fact to me but i found it cleverly done (especially once you realised what “the incident” actually was and that whole scenario started spiralling). it’s a lot of someone else’s business to air if true though!
