Ah OK, so that's about 170 mile round trip for me 1h 30 each way. That's doable! How do you find out when they will be open, I won't mind queuingIts in Hemel Hempstead. Its Trade only but open certain weekends for anyone to visit. You can wait hours to get in at times though.

It’s a 528 mile round trip for me and I never ever read actual books, only Kindle versions, but the FOMO I have right now is unreal!
They have a Facebook page with all dates and update queue times on the day 🫶
These were my purchases yesterday. A few in there are for my tweens. They only have baskets so highly recommend a wheelie trolley if you have one knocking about the garage like I did

currently reading the pairing and coming to the realisation that red white and royal blue will remain the only casey mcquiston i’ve really enjoyed 
i mean, it’s fun but the lead characters are annoying and it’s very europe written by an american who does not appear to have been there so everyone is a country stereotype. oh and i don’t know how attractive these people are meant to be but literally everyone they meet is instantly interested and it’s grating

Finished the short stories collection Show Don't Tell by Curtis Sittenfield today. I've actually tried to slow down and drag it out, and I know I bang on about what a great writer she is, but this collection is superb. Highly recommend it.
And now onto The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, which I'm already thinking how has this been hyped up so much. Will stick with it...

i’ve been wanting to read show don’t tell (i love curtis sittenfeld even if i struggled with romantic comedy) - i will definitely pick it up next time i’m in waterstones now
Must admit I didn’t think I could justify a 175 mile round trip when I have so many books on my TBR. I thought I’d call in if I was driving to London thinking I never drive to London, usually get the train. Then yesterday discovered that it was on this weekend and I was due to drive to the StoneX stadium this afternoon 
As much as I’m trying not to spend too much I figured I could spend £30 or so. 26 books later

I couldn't get into The Pairing! I actually did like McQuiston's other two, but this felt like a miss.currently reading the pairing and coming to the realisation that red white and royal blue will remain the only casey mcquiston i’ve really enjoyed
i’m struggling with it. it’s very readable but every chapter so far is a rinse repeat of going to a beautiful european city filled with insanely beautiful people who are all bisexual and all immediately dtf
i also don’t care about the central relationship At All. (this is where i get annoyed with myself for any buying physical books because i carried this around london in the middle of summer for NOTHING

There’s a chunk of one of the stories on the Waterstones blog if you want a warm up. I have it on a tab ready for entertainment the work day but the last few weeks have been so busy my procrastination time has been too short for a shortened short storyi’ve been wanting to read show don’t tell (i love curtis sittenfeld even if i struggled with romantic comedy) - i will definitely pick it up next time i’m in waterstones now

Currently reading What If This Were Enough - book of essays by Heather Havrilesky and loving it. It’s such a bloody great book about connections, modern life and how far removed we’ve become from what makes us happy. It’s everything I wanted Gia Tolentinos book to be (felt really let down by Trick Mirror and honestly cannot remember a single thing from it except that it felt rushed).
