Anyone stocking their virtual baskets for Waterstones's preorder campaign? I've been waiting ages for them to follow Barnes and Noble, and now I'm not ready 🫣
I've been really well behaved, and I've only ordered things that are in series of books I've already been reading. So I've only ordered 3 books.

Waterstones are doing 25% off pre-orders until end of Monday.. I’ve also got quite a few things pre-ordered (Black Friday stamps 🥳) but am scrolling through my wish list in publication order atm 🫣
Yes I dont know what to do as some of mine were double or triple point events or have more than 1 book in each pre order. Seems like alot of maths to work out what is better value...

Im a literary gal. Not maths. (Which makes sense, book maths if you will means the money spent doesnt count)

Not all preorder books are included in the discount.

I went through my wishlist of preorders (waiting for double points) and only 2 out of 8 were actually included in the 25% off

There are loads of mine 😔 I looked this morning. So annoying.

Right, after the absolutely abysmal 1 star that was Imposter Syndrome by Joseph Knox...

It's time for the big guns. I'm going in with The Winners.

Thanks for all the how to pick your next book suggestions. I realised last night i have commitment issues 😅 anyway decided to go with the shortest thriller I have on my bookshelf so went with The Hiking Trip by Jenny Blackhurst that I picked up in a charity shop last year. It’s only 300 pages and I’m a third through and hooked already.

Oh wow. I have this and enjoyed True Crime Story. Why was it so bad? 😂
I also loved True Crime Story - I gave it 5 stars!

Gosh, for me it was just so convoluted with new characters and plots being introduced every five minutes but none of them going anywhere interesting. Keeping track of who was who, why any of them mattered and why anything happened was a real chore!

My job is maths adjacent and I’m still on the fence.
I worked out my current pre-order of My Friends at £20 will give me 6 stamps.
If I pre-order it now it’ll be £15 with 1 stamp.
So less in ‘real’ money but the same if you don’t care about stamps vs cash/consider Waterstones stamps book cash lol so I’ve not re-ordered any of mine yet.

Ive re pre-ordered my books which didn't have any special points on them. Left the ones with triple points... I managed to get 6 books for £57 :)

Waterstones special offer doesn't come off the signed one :( - is anyone going for that version? I don't usually buy physical books and especially not hardbacks, but......

I’m not one to buy a lot of books as I tend to borrow from the library or use KU but I’ve just preordered the new MW Craven book using the 25% off and I had a gift voucher to use 😍

I’ve discovered that my work employee benefits we can buy book tokens for 10% off. This is dangerous.

Well I was saving my Christmas waterstones voucher but may have just spent it all. Hoping that as the books will arrive apparently randomly due to publication dates I can slip some past the boyfriend who considers them clutter (philistine that he is)

Does anyone else have the problem of searching for a book, particularly on audible and it’s only available in another language and not English?
