I wasn’t convinced Chloe would escape but how gutting they’re all trapped again! At least they’re together.
it seems unlikely Adam will find the place, is he even alive?
I wonder if someone will come along, maybe a council building surveyor type person or an urban explorer?
Where’s Bill? Is he dead and snowmobile guy was away disposing of his body? Chloe didn’t mention she saw him.

Here’s mine, I don’t think The Housemaids Secret worthy of 5 stars now. I must have enjoyed it at the time but the rate Freida churns out books is not sitting right with me.

I don’t bother with ratings, but if I did we have 3 matches - In Memorium, Tom Lake and Preloved were all in my top reads of this year too.

I do find it slightly frustrating that they seem to only do top 10% or lower. It would be good if they broke it down a bit more like Spotify do with like top 0.1% etc

I finished Witness 8 today! Really enjoyed it - love the Eddie Flynn series. I see there’s another one due July 2025

In Memoriam was my only 5 star but I'm extremely stingy. I think I only have maybe 4 or 5 books I've given 5 stars but I have decided this year I should be more generous so one this year is good I guess I think I'd prefer a 1-10 system

Spoiler: 25 days - day 19

OH MY GOD. The action in that chapter makes up for the last two chapters being dull.

So the family are reunited, the masked abductor is injured and the building is on fire. I think the next couple of chapters will have a lot to fill!

As it is categorised as a horror I don't think all the family will make it out alive. But we will see. 6 chapters to go!

I was also very stingy with my 5 star reviews this year. Out of 75 books only 2 were chosen. I did get top 10% of readers which I am very proud of though.

Also stingy with my 5 stars. HP was a re read with youngest CF who can read perfectly well on their own but enjoys me reading to them.

I finished The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah last night. It is a definite 5 stars from me. I enjoyed it so much. I rarely cry when reading but the ending was so emotional it did make me tear up. I am also a few days behind on 25 Days as I found The Nightingale so engrossing.

I've started Claire Keegan's Small Things Like These as a friend recommended it.

I loved The Nightingale too. It’s the only Kristin Hannah I’ve read so far, but I intend to put The Great Alone and The Women on my 2025 must read list. Are we sharing these lists ?

Also really enjoyed Small Things Like These, such a simple but effective story. There’s been a film made of it with Cillian Murphy. Enjoy!

Just finished a Christmas book that I really enjoyed. Not the usual expected ending either.

Oh I really like the sound of this. Sounds similar to Rosamund Pilcher’s Winter Solstice re a cosy Christmas multi character tale.

My 5* reads and GR summary. It frustrates me a bit that they do it mid December as I finished Weyward this morning and will likely finish the Christmas book I’m about to start.. so will read at least 35 books this year.

I’m really interested to see everyone’s 5 star reads. Happy to see Tom Lake, The Women and In Memoriam in a few! I plan to read all early in 2025. I may go through everyone’s again and look for recurring books to help me decide on more must reads

I really enjoyed harry. Not sure it would be a 5* for me but Iit was very interesting.

These are my 5 and I actually don’t regret a single one. They were all books i absolutely could not put down, or that really made me feel something and connect with the characters. The boys of tommen series will be a favourite forever!
