Yes!!!Is this the one with the two main characters are men? Half is set in the 80s/90s and one half is up to date with their lives? The nature path at the back of the house?

Have you read any Brandon Sanderson? Can anyone recommend any books similar to ASOIAF or LOTR please? I’m struggling to find anything at all
Ooh I listened to Josie Silvers one night on the island and hated the male narrator so much it put me off. The book was gorgeous thoughI find the narrator's voice and delivery is make-or-break for me. As a result, I've found a few who I really like and I've ended up listening to books I would never have picked because I like the voiceIt's helped me meet my book target for the year. I'd say about 40% of my books this year have been audio. I've also learned that I can manage about 1hr30 before I need to take a break, even if I'm loving the book. I think with Audiobooks, you have to find the quirks that make it work for you, like how long to listen for, playback speed, voice, genre. Once you find your way, it can really be a gamechanger.
They do seem to have them every other month so I could hold off..Harper Collins often do 50% flash sales. Sign up to their newsletter. So dont rush now. There will be more.
I like Boris but not read his memoir yet. I think it's the way he speaks puts me off in case the memoir is written in that flowery way he speaks!I've unleashed myself on Bo Jo's autobiography and so far I'm enjoying it. Ego seems to be the big problem in politics, without that we'd all get on a lot better in running the country. I was also fascinated to read about the Vulcan nerve pinch which I had to Google.

I did and it wasn't what I putStart with the vampire![]()
I think we might share the same LibraryOur local branch is the main borough one and is 6 floors. The amount of books in there gets less and less and the council are hoping to sell off the building to developers and house the library at the cuncil building which will probably end up just being a few books on a shelf like the temp one they set up in the shopping precinct a few years ago when they did a massive refurbishment.
I haven't got that far yet but was the tandem read thing designed that way by the author, or is this something fans have discovered and recommend? I'm fascinated as to how the tandem read thing came about.I did the tandem read this September and really enjoyed it! I found the beginning of Tower of Dawn quite slow (it did ramp up and I ended up loving it) and switching between TOD and Empire of Storms meant I didn’t get bored! It also gets you used to flitting between all the different character viewpoints. I’m on 54% through Kingdom of Ash and there’s so many different characters and chapters it’s hard to keep up
Also there are some huge mic drop reveals and the tandem read works really well with them when it’s stuck to properly!
Not sure what I’m going to do with myself when I finish it!
what the hell is the ghost? I typed Sheets , Blankets and Ghosted..Start with the vampire![]()
i know i tried with one that wasnt the obvious but apparently it was.Yeh I got it in the end, thought I'd be something more exciting lol. Gave up anyway I don't think I actually know enough book titles to do it![]()
I really struggled with this one, after seeing all the good reviews for it. I just couldn’t get into it!I finished educated yesterday by Tara Westover, not sure I can say I enjoyed it but gave it 4 star. Just find the whole thing about her family fascinating, stayed up reading random stuff about them online last night after I finished the book![]()
It was a good read. I listened on audio (got it from the library)Yes!!!
What colour is the room he is sitting in?Me too!!having a right old rant at myself “that is a hound! That is his hat! Maybe if I use capitals. Okay, maybe not”

not me i dont see the point. I don't see the need for anyone to replace tech unless its broken or totally obsolete - in the interests o sustainability. Not knocking folks you do you , thats just my feelings on the matter and i can't blame people wanting an upgrade from 6th gen for example. Mines 10th and suits me fine.. i dont read a lot of manga or graphic novels etc and can;t see what having colours would bring in benefits for me.. It's a case of minor additions to make you feel like you are missing out if you dont get the new one that add basically nothing.@HoGi Are you being paid by Amazon here? It will make us make a dent in our TBR. We will all be rushing off to buy them![]()
I was exactly the same, I found it so confusing and that spoiled it for me as it felt like too much effort to follow.I finished Everyone in my Family has Killed Someone, I enjoyed it but found the central mystery hard to follow and had to keep re reading sections to understand it![]()
Is this in store too? Or just buying vouchers online. You've probably all known this for years, but I've just been browsing and saw that Blue Light Card have 10% off at Waterstones.
