do you mean romantasy, or more on the hard fantasy lotr type? because i know we have a lot of romantasy fans in the thread who can help with the first one ☺
Oh god now you’re asking, that’s a good question!! More of the fantasy side I think but I’ll take all recommendations!!

Borrowed my Aunties kindle to see if I would like it and I’ve ended up reading 5 books this week. Going to buy myself one but thinking of going with a Kobo as it has Libby built in to it and able download library books, would save a lot of money in the long run. Anyone got a Kobo rather than a kindle? Or do I just go with the kindle?
I have neither - I use an Android tablet but with an e-ink screen, so I can use the Kindle app and the Borrowbox app. My library used to use Libby and now has moved to Borrowbox, so that might be something to consider if you are only planning on using it for library books, as you can't get books from Borrowbox onto the Kobo as easily.

It's a really good story that I've given four stars. The kind of book that is a good read, you're glad you've read it, but wouldn't feel the need to buy it, if you know what I mean.
I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it and I totally get what you mean it's like when you say I've read it once and enjoyed it but I wouldn't go out of my way to read it again.

Finished The Love Letter book, i.e. the one the author was "cancelled" for.
A real page turner that has left me questioning if it's actually a true story. The way it's written is so tantalising.
I mean using major Royals as the characters and with all the past rumours going round about the paternity of "Cookie's" children that I've read about growing up.

@Boogs i don’t think anyone liked the ending of Sally.

Its a shame as up until then it was a great book, ending completely ruined it for me
I feel like I want to her to revisit Sally. She deserved better than that to be her ending.

The opposite for me. I hate that every single time i get 4 books ie the twice a yr they allow 2 books a person ( I get the ones from my flatmate also) theyre all rubbish but some months I am struggling to whittle it down to the 2.. I always get the books because theyre free but I just stuff my kindle and rarely get round to reading them.. i'd be grand if I ever went to the US and got caught in a 6 month lockdown LOL Literally thousands of books on my Kindle
Yeah, I struggle to find books usually on first reads

Started The Saint of Lost Things, Tish Delaney. It’s not grabbing me yet. I hope it picks up. I bought it because I loved Before My Actual Heart Breaks

Yes! I’m slightly behind you. I like some of the characters. I feel like I should be breezing through it, but I’m not.
I feel the same! I love Cherry but I read for an hour and feel like I haven’t got any further through the book.

I’m struggling with the books that are clued by the books on the stands and tables.. the cocktails ones, the travel ones. Are they fiction or non?

Well, I've finished The Hidden Girl by Lucinda Riley in less than a day.
I'm feeling a bit shell shocked actually........what a brilliant story teller....
and reading the foreword about how her early life spent as an actor and model, and the certainty of the editor, that certain parts of the book were based on personal experiences...... and how she liked to structure her books around real historical events.
I've not got the world's best memory, but if I ever find myself in The Stirrup restaurant in Haworth, it'll certainly bring back memories of the book.
I've got a feeling there might have been a sequel if the author hadn't died, because of the last paragraph.
Can't really say any more....just feeling a bit dazed really...😳

ETA. Forgot to mention that Lucinda was effectively cancelled by bookshops/publishers after writing one of her books about a Royal secret.. She eventually returned under a different name.
Ooh really! Do you know what book / secret!?

Yes, i really enjoyed the setting, concept and characters but the mystery and the stuff from the past I was so confused by...glad it wasn't just me! I'll give the next one, everyone on this train is a suspect, a read at some point and hope I can follow it better 😂
Let me know what you think! If it’s easier to follow I might give it a try.
