These are my October books. Currently reading City of Girls but no chance of finishing it before tomorrow night. I seem to have had quite a themed month

That's my books for October. Also currently about 60% in through 'Under Your Spell' by Laura wood which I think someone recommended here? Enjoying is as an easy read and actually finding it quite funny.

both in terms of quantity and quality My October reads. A good month numbers wise thanks to a couple of long haul flights and plenty of time on a sun lounger!
Last Devil to Die and Funny Story were probably my favourites, both perfect easy beach reads. The Rob Rinder was also a good holiday read but not as enjoyable as the other two.
The Winners was great for the first and last thirds but I felt it really dragged in the middle. *runs for cover from the Backman fans*
The Marriage Portrait and The Love Letter were both ok, but not my favourite from either author.
Finally Frankenstein was a quick one to fit another book in before the end of the month, plus my nod to Halloween!

I can’t believe it’s monthly wrap up time already.. and also that you read In Memoriam this month, feels like ages ago!just because i finished my final october book today (faebound. i sadly do not recommend it. it took me what felt like 84 years to read), here are my october reads!

everything i read this month paled in comparison to in memoriam though, which i am still thinking about.

i know, it feels like ages ago (but the heartbreak still lingers!!) - definitely don’t rush for faebound; plodding pacing, pedestrian writing and just the dullest world-building i’ve ever seen. it was rough!I can’t believe it’s monthly wrap up time already.. and also that you read In Memoriam this month, feels like ages ago!

Can't believe we're so close to the end of the year! Read a lot from my long-term TBR pile (also added a lot but never mind)
My October reads
My October round up. Been on a bit of a DCI Kett binge this month!! I really hope they make that series into a TV show - it's so good.
Currently reading Rivals by Jilly Cooper but it is such a beast of a book theres no way I will finish it today. I want to watch the TV show so thought I would read Riders first and having finished it- I don't think I have ever loathed a character as much as I loathe RCB. He really is a POS but I am invested and will probably make my way through the rest of the series at some point (i.e if they're on a kindle deal or if I can pick them up in the charity shop lol).

I loved them all really but Slow Dance was a stand out this month! I have The Will of the Many sat on my desk from the library so that'll probably be my first for November!

I’m really enjoying it too. I love the writing and Vivian’s voice, it’s making me want to visit New York in 1940

Just to say I read this via NetGalley and really enjoyed it. I went to an author event of hers and she's lovely, looking forward to her next couple of books. I've now bought the Lighthouse Witches by her.
Extremely curious about Hallowpeen? I saw a review of it on instagram, how insane was it?

Absolutely unhinged
But it was less than 100 pages and included on kindle unlimited so I had no reason not to read it.
The author is an absolute queen at puns and innuendos and I will never look at a pumpkin or butternut squash the same way again.
She has several more books and i feel compelled to read them especially "taken by my TBR"
with over 1000 books on my TBR I fear I wouldn't be able to walk again 
I had a bit of an outburst recently. It was about book clubs. I forget sometimes how forthright I can be 
.
Someone was convinced I was in their group and when I came down from my rant they quickly exited looking shocked.
There was a bit of a silence until the librarians confided that they too bloody hated book clubs!
I much prefer this book group on Tattle, as nobody forces you to read books you don't want to, but instead wag interesting books under your nose......
Book groups are in my experience usually run by bossy or smug women who have no taste in books and look down on the books you like to read.
I'll probably get shot down in flames by Tattlers who love their groups, but it is my experience.
