I'm reading Katherine Center's The Rom-commers, which is pleasantly ridiculous like the other books I've read of hers. I was ticking along nicely, and then this:

my works does mystery books too! i’ve never bought any because i’m too picky with their romances but it’s a really lovely idea.

Wah-lah has a certain panache to it, or "pan-ash" as Katherine Center would probably say.
Seen plenty of people say "wallah!" online but that's the first I'm seeing it in a published and proof read book

It's a good one though, worth the 1000 pages. I've got the hardbacks for the past couple in the series because I think they're too big for paperback and the paperbacks at that size tend to be a bit floppy and get messed up by me
I’ve never been able to make it through any Dickens (unless you count A Muppet Christmas Carol!) but still enjoyed Demon Copperhead so I wouldn’t let that bit put you off. The drug addled poverty is pretty spot on though!

Any recommendations for an audiobook that's on Spotify? I've given up on As Good As Dead and until I get a new book to listen to, I'll keep going back to it and being disappointed XD
