I am going to take my books back to the library this morning.

I will not take anymore books out. I will not take anymore books out. I will not take anymore books out.

I have a KU free 3 months. I want to maximise it. I will not take anymore books out.

We will be waiting for you to come and tell us how many books you took out.

I returned one yesterday and came home with three... book maths is the new girl maths?

Apparently I’m still in my gay romance era so in an effort to stop reading so many trashy fan fics, does anyone have any recommendations for m/m romances?
I really liked We Could Be So Good by Cat Sebastian. I have also heard good things about You Should Be So Lucky by the same author but I haven't read it yet!

Don’t talk to me about the library book addiction. I have 5 currently on my bedside table and 2 waiting to be collected 🙈

I've just finished reading The Queen of Poisons by Robert Thorogood. I noticed at the end of the book there is an excerpt of his next book - Murder on the Marlow Belle.
Looking forward to the next film of the series that I understand is currently being filmed.

I have a problem fellow book addicts..... I've just been notified that my latest Borrowbox book is ready for me to read, but the damned thing won't download!!!!🤬
Has anyone any idea how to overcome this problem as the days are ticking down and it's the audio version so I have 28 hours to listen to it FGS! Why is nothing going right at the moment! 🤷‍♀️😬😫😥

Regarding library book addiction - I am being super heartless and strict with myself. No more pretend "exercising" in the library doing a circuit of the library. In fact going to the library has been banned until all books have been read and no books have been put on order.
I realise I will crack on this part if a favourite author suddenly releases another book, but I admit that I'm not perfect...😏🤭

Have done myself a little book shelf clear out. Got some books I've read I don't want to keep, some dnf books and some books I've not read, but no longer have the desire to read. Got a nice box ready for charity shop.

But I still have a daunting number of books on the shelves to read. 🫣

Also when I take them to charity shop I can have a look for some more books. 😂

I started The Housemaid, I couldn’t be doing with seeing some of the things a mile off, is it worth sticking with?!

It went down really well here when it first came out. Yes you have to suspend belief at times but it’s a good read. The second one is almost as good and the third is a bit pants.

Folks, I’m about a third of the way through Talking at Night and maybe my expectations were too high but I’m just finding it entirely meh.

I loved it but I read it with no expectations which appears to be the key to me loving a book nowadays.

I thought it was fine, enjoyable enough and a quickish read but not one I would recommend.

Finished not in love by Ali Hazelwood today really enjoyed it. It is her spiciest book so far I would say although I still have yet to read Bride which is staring at me from my shelves along with Love on the brain. Is it me or is she pumping out the books, i can barely keep up anymore.

Now started The ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garber on a wet Satuday evening and already blasted through a 100 pages. Love the writing of this and the fairytale style it's written in. I think this is going to be a quick read for me.

Like you StephenTJackson I have done a little book shelf clear out by getting rid of some books that I either don't want to keep, some books that I DNFed and some books that I haven't read but now have no intention of ever reading. I have got a nice stack for the charity shops but as the table top/car boot that me and my mum go to is opening up again in September we will put some books on there for 30p each or 4 for a pound as usually we sell a fair few.

However, I still have a daunting number of books on my shelves that I need to read but even though I am reading books I feel like the number of books on my shelves isn't going down any.

The problem with me is that when I go to the charity shops I often see a book that I like and immediately buy it without any second thought.

My favourite charity shop is 4 for £1. So if I find one book, I then have to find another 3.

Exactly and then it's annoying if you can't find another 3 books to make up the pound.
this is also me in the works with their 3 for £6 books 🤣 i always end up picking up a random extra two (yes i know i could just buy the one i actually like the look of but then where’s the saving?!)

doing garbaugust again this year purely to read all these random the works purchases that are taking up valuable bookshelf space 🤦🏼‍♀️

At the moment I'm just reading books that are on my shelves however my problem is that if I enjoy the book so much I end up keeping it and it just remains on my bookshelf.

same! i’ve learnt to be a little more brutal when i do my library inventory and think “did i LOVE this? will i reread it? do i want to own it forever?” if the answer to any of those is no then i donate it. i am lucky to have a lot of bookshelves though!

don’t put pressure on yourself over it all though! if you love the book, then absolutely keep it. bookshelves are the window to someone’s soul and all that 💙💙
