I own lots of books (some may say too many books but what do they know?) though recently have found I mostly read on my kindle. I generally like to have a physical book, an audiobook and a kindle book going at once but I find myself getting through ebooks so much quicker than my physical books. I read a lot in the bath, and because my Paperwhite Signature is waterproof it's obviously the slightly safer option (my Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire still bears the results of an accidental drop into the bath many moons ago ).

Elle I need your advice! I have bought the kindle holder but the cheap kindle pager tuner I got on amazon will not connect with my kindle via bluetooth. Which one did you get? I dream of handsfree in-bed reading luxury.

Sorry to jump in. I have a page Turner. It doesn't connect to the kindle via Bluetooth although I think you have to have Bluetooth on for it to work. They just connect to each other via Bluetooth (the clicker and the bit that attaches to the kindle) make sure the little metal dots are on your screen and just click, it should work.

No that's helpful! I bought a remote that in theory connects to the kindle bluetooth and turns the pages (without the bit attached to the kindle) after seeing a reel on IG....but the kindle won't connect to it. Ah well. I think I shall try the version you mention with the bit attached to the kindle. Thank you

I finished Her Deadly Promise by Carla Kovach last night and it's the 2nd 5* book this year for me. This was book 12 in the Gina Harte series and was only published in December 2022 so I have to wait ages for the next instalment. Epic reads for anyone who enjoys a good thriller/detective series.

I thought I already live in the future using my kindle, but finding out people live in the year 3000 with their page turners has blown my mind. Here goes my plan not to spend money

I got one for Xmas and it is a game changer to have my kindle on the bedside table, both arms under the covers and just clicking away no cold hands out of the covers

I think with the proper kindles (not kindle fires) it just won't work via Bluetooth as the devices aren't very sophisticated. The turned I have the little electrical pads basically mimic a finger tapping it.

I think the device you have would work with an ipad or fire device that has more complicated processors etc.

The first one I got wouldn't connect via Bluetooth and I thought I was just being technologically incapable but it turns out you can only connect to an iPad with the Bluetooth and not an actual Kindle (definite misleading item description).

The one you need is one that actually clips onto the Kindle and manually taps the pages for you.

This is the one I have: SYUKUYU RF Remote Control Page Turner for Kindle Reading Ipad Surface Comics, iPhone Android Tablets Reading Novels Taking Photos https://amzn.eu/d/hQSNnCD

Highly recommend!

Yeah I think I was also misled by an item/title description. Thank you! Off to order.

I finished More Wishing Chair Adventures today and I’ve picked up Babel that I got from the library.

Bit late but on the kindle chat - I was totally against them then my husband brought me one a couple of years back. I still love a paper book - thank goodness as I’ve got about 800 ish to read . . . But I don’t sleep well and my kindle is a godsend for reading at night as I don’t wake my husband up. Also when we go away or travel I’m not taking 10 books just incase I change my mind

Definitely scope for both in my house

My kindle changed my life in terms of reading, it's easy and convenient and my god the deals are just a blessing... love the thing!!!

What on earth are page turners haha? And I hope you’ve all had lovely bookish days. I went to Waterstones today and shockingly didn’t buy any books but I did buy a magazine in WHSmiths

So after seeing all the hype for Daisy Jones and the Six I bought in the Kindle offers this month. I’m 30% through and it’s so dull! Does anything ever actually happen? I’m totally skim/speed reading every page as I have zero interest. Does it get better or is it all just terrible TikTok hype?

I thought the same as you and skim read it, it wasn’t for me at all. I think it would be a bit better as an audiobook, it’s definitely a chore to read!

I just thought it was a bit of a non-story. Wasn't that interesting or groundbreaking in any way. Would be half ok if it was about a real band but a mediocre story about a fictional one just doesn't really do it for me.

That being said, I still started watching the TV adaptation has anyone else watched it?

Glad it’s not just me. I tend not to get sucked into Booktok recommendations as they’re generally naff and overhyped but when I saw this was 99p I thought it could be worth a shot. Wishing I hadn’t bothered.

Seeing the TV show was out was another prompt to starting the book as I do like watching adaptations. Hopefully it’s better than the book!

I think the tv adaptation will be better than the book but I’m not fussed about watching. I’ve seen a few people saying they’re loving the series but they also loved the book so

There are also a few books that are included with audible too.
