Picked baby L (15mo) up from nursery and his key worker said he had been imitating another baby who was crying is this normal or is my baby a sociopath
i still haven’t found a good cream however would they make an exception for him to wear socks with grippers on the bottom and then you could put some leggings on him so he can’t get to it as easy as other trousers?Does anyone have tips for a baby with eczema on their feet? Baby L has it on his ankles and nursery like the babies barefoot for safety reasons (not tripping/slipping on socks which is fair enough) but without socks he scratches and it gets worse and worse as the week goes on. We have cream and another GP appointment coming up but is there a magic sock keeping on solution or something that has worked for anyone else?
If you can persuade nursery to let him keep his feet covered, you can get tights with grippy soles. Under trousers nobody would know they weren't socks, and he wouldn't be able to get them off. Obviously only while the weather is cooler, but that might give it chance to heal a bit?Does anyone have tips for a baby with eczema on their feet? We had hydrocortisone which helped but need a gp appointment before we can get more. The moisturiser cream is paraffin cream in a massive bottle like mayo in a kebab shopi still haven’t found a good cream however would they make an exception for him to wear socks with grippers on the bottom and then you could put some leggings on him so he can’t get to it as easy as other trousers?
Thank you, I had been thinking about tights but yes, a bit tricky when it's warmer. Maybe a nice little Victorian urchin look with tights under little bloomer shortsIf you can persuade nursery to let him keep his feet covered, you can get tights with grippy soles. Or maybe those socks with the rubbery sole?
We've done a few flights and I cannot stress enough: snacks snacks snacks. They are an absolute lifesaver. We tend to do an order to the Boots in the airport of all the snacks we don't tend to buy, and its always worked a dream for us. Also little toys/puzzles/cars. We actually went to Poundland and brought crayons and sticks and colouring book - anything to use as a distraction. I would also suggest trying to schedule a flight near nap time/bed time if possible. We've flown morning flights and the red eye between the US/UK multiple times and night flights have always gone better with our 2 year old (our almost 1 year old is just a nut on whatever flight!)Mini justme and I are going abroad over the summer, we will be going with family but it’s the first time I will be flying with him so I’m nervous. It will be a 8 hour flight and he will be 18 months I realise we still have a few months to go but I want to do everything I can to prepare, any advice/tips are welcome
this juust reminded me once my son was abiut 11 months crying and a random woman came over and said to give him to her and she sharp brought him backi second this though it is what it is and if they didn’t want other people they should have got on their private jet. We've done a few flights and I cannot stress enough: snacks snacks snacks. Another thing which was a lifesaver were noise defenders. Our 2 year old could sleep through nuclear war but our 1 year old lunatic is distracted by every.damn.thing. so they actually kept her asleep.
If upgrading your seats is a possibility, it might be worth looking in to it - the extra space really is amazing.
I would also say, don't give a damn about what other people think. Babies/toddlers cry and fidget and moan. Don't worry if you need to walk up and down the aisle. Don't worry if he cries.
We’re exactly the same - just turned 15 months and he’s got so much better!!! I can leave the room and he’s not screaming the second I’m out. We’re coming up to 15 months now and I think it’s been ever since 14 months we’ve not had our bed to ourselves. He’ll go down at bedtime fine but will wake at some point in the night usually around 2 or 3am and there is no way you can try settle him and leave him. So he just ends up in our bed. I’m wondering if it’s just become a habit for him at this point and how are we ever gonna break it.
it feels like separation anxiety maybe? The worst part is is that he couldn’t give a flying duck about me. He just wants his daddy. I get told it’s because he sees me all day.. so daddy is the novelty but it’s really been affecting me lately. I worry we have a crap bond.
The other day I got him up from a nap dressed him and took him downstairs but he screamed and cried all the way down the stairs and then kept running to the stairs crying.. all until daddy came down to see what all the noise was about. Then he was absolutely fine.
My partner wfh so he’s always here but obviously we need to leave him to get on with work.. but so many times a day he just wants to go see daddy and will scream and cry about it til he gets what he wants.
ooo I hope better sleep is on it’s way for everyone here soon then! It would be fine if we could just resettle him and everyone then sleeps in their own beds but we have no choice really and then once he’s in our bed no one’s really comfortable or sleeping well. We’re exactly the same - just turned 15 months and he’s got so much better!!! Sleeps been awful here for as long as I can remember but he’s just started properly walking and so I’m hoping soon we turn a corner.
Also an absolute Daddy’s boy! It’s not your bond, it probably is that he’s not there all the time and so is ‘exciting’ so to speak - but you’re not alone in any of this as we’re/have been the same x
We’re still struggling with this, I get all my son’s nursery socks in multipacks from H&M as they do the ones with grippers and have some nice thick winter ones too. They’re meant to be folded over but depending what he’s wearing we just have them pulled up so they stay on better.Does anyone have tips for a baby with eczema on their feet? You should follow Dr Niamh Lynch on instagram. She’s an Irish paediatric specialist and she was talking about Milton baths to help with eczema. I didn’t pay full attention to it but it might be worth a look!Does anyone have tips for a baby with eczema on their feet? Thanks so much for the tips. I’ve started a list We have a morning flight which can either go 2 ways, really grumpy or really tired for the flightWe've done a few flights and I cannot stress enough: snacks snacks snacks. Thank you, poor mini sodit sounds like he's had a really bad time with it. I'll have a look for the grippy socks! We’re still struggling with this, I get all my son’s nursery socks in multipacks from H&M as they do the ones with grippers and have some nice thick winter ones too. He gets slathered with his eczema cream in the morning and ointment at night and courses of his steroid cream when it’s really bad. Always barefoot now, he did used to get prescribed the cotton pjs that were tights/top/hand mitts from the eczema team but it was getting too traumatising for us all battling them on each night.
Hard though cos we never fully clear it on his ankles and knees as it’s linked to one of his food intolerances and us trying to introduce it in his diet.
Antihistamines help for us in a really bad flare too.
Hmmm I will have a look! Milton is strong stuff, Im sure I've bleached a couple of tops with it before ThanksYou should follow Dr Niamh Lynch on instagram. It’s pretty normal to be dropping milk at this age, and does no harm if they’re having water in the day and eating enough. We’d definitely generally dropped day milk by 15 months as he’d started nursery 4 days a week by then and we weren’t sending any in for him.At 15months today and he’s been so difficult with both his milk feeds for maybe a week or 2 now, he has one mid morning and the other just before bed. There’s long enough after meals for it not to be that he’s full but he’s barely having 3 or 4 ounces and even that can be a struggle over a whole hour because he just doesn’t seem to want it.
We were trying to get him used to a cup for the first feed and it was going okay, but when he stopped drinking as much we tried bottles again to see if it helped and it has not ðŸ«
Really not sure what to do
I have to agree with your mum because I did the same! I was so worried - to the point I think my husband was considering divorce! - but it really wasn't as bad as I imagined. My second can be a little more hit and miss as she is an absolute nutcase but we've luckily never had anything too major happenThanks so much for the tips. I’ve started a list We have a morning flight which can either go 2 ways, really grumpy or really tired for the flight
I didn’t even think about ear defenders, so will order some. He’s hit and miss when it comes to sleeping in noisy places so will take some with us.
You’re right about the crying. I take him everywhere on my own so I don’t know why I’m putting pressure on myself for this flight. I think it’s because I haven’t done it before so don’t know what to expect. Also it’s not like I can just take him to another room mid flight, then people tend to just stare when a child is making a scene and that makes me sweat even more my mum reckons I’m working myself for no reason.
