I've just watched that GMB interview now and it's very obvious he's uncomfortable answering the statements about how close and supportive he was because he knows he wasn't. He admitted he didn't stay in touch and he only reached out because he saw the GoFund page and realised she was severely ill. And now he's fronting the media campaign? He posted his insta post a few weeks ago because it made HIM feel better about the fact he'd not seen her or this clear downward spiral she had been on during the last year or two. I felt for him on Saturday but I'm actually quite livid with him now. I didn't think he was like that but her friends and family are obviously mortified.

I've had a complete about turn after seeing Pete's interview. He's jumped on the bandwagon and is claiming an intimate and long lasting relationship that never was. He obviously dashed to see her when he realised how unwell she was, and even then, posed for a photo with her, when she was clearly incredibly ill. I hope she was able to consent to him posting that photo.
I saw some photos of Nikki and Imogen last year, when lockdown restrictions were lifted briefly. Imogen looked happy and healthy. Nikki looked happy but oh my God, she was thin.
It's hard to be helpful when you are friends with someone with a destructive eating disorder. You can't force feed them, you can offer drinks and snacks and they will be refused because 'I had a huge breakfast/lunch/afternoon tea/dinner - I couldn't eat another thing.' Intervention needs to be as early as possible. Recovery is difficult regardless, and Nikki was unwell for more than 2 decades. It's all so terribly sad.

Nikki mentions in her book that after big brother she felt that Pete humiliated her on the Jonathan Ross show, treated her really coldly after the show and left her heart broken.

I didnt see the show I just remember her mentioning it in her book. She said that on the show Pete put his fingers in his ears whenever she spoke.
It's also the way he's constantly being referred to as her 'ex-boyfriend/partner' - it just doesn't sit well for me...
Did anyone watch the reunion with Rylan? I seem to recall her saying how close she was to Grace and Imogen. Lea was constantly trying to engage with her but she didn't seem particularly interested. I would like to rewatch but I think its way too soon for that.

Well said is that. It's OK celebrities saying how sad her death is but considering what she passed away from how many of those same celebrities will now only show photos on social media unfiltered so we can change how people think for the better?

Must be so hard.Also - Pete's partner is a mental health nurse. It seems very disingenuous. (If I lost my friend or ex - you wouldn't catch me doing TWO TV interviews) it would be the last thing I'd feel like doing. Maybe that's me being cynical but....I just wouldn't.

Just catching up on this thread and was surprised that you guys were in the minority thinking it was Pete instead of Aisleyne. I remember the later BB series as well and Nikki was SO pleased to see Aisleyne enter. They also seemed like they were still friends on Rylans lockdown BB7 reunion thing
One of the times I met him he was working as kitchen runner / pot washer at a pub in Brighton. This was 5 or 6 years ago though.
I didn't see that programme and I had no idea that Aisleyne and Nikki were good friends.
On the other hand, I was completely fooled by Pete, and genuinely thought he and his girlfriend and been supporting Nikki all along, not just within the last few weeks when she became critically ill.
I'm glad Nikki had friends and family with her at the end. She was such a little sweetheart, she deserved so much more from life.
I did think it was pretty weird of Pete to post that picture with her when she was so ill.
It is a very grim picture it shocked me, I think it was insensitive to post it
