Not to hijack this thread but really interested to see comments about CharlotteBhc crop up. She’s broken up from the bf she’s just bought a house with? She used to be someone I really enjoyed on twitter and I do try to understand the context of where she’s coming from, but sometimes she is just so relentlessly aggressive and anti-talking to anyone who doesn’t write for Vice. Get the impression there’s big beef between her and Bethany (and also Jenny Tighe) but no idea what happened
He's just a steward at the Barbican (and presumably fancies himself as an artist) so I doubt he contributes much, money-wise. They seem very happy but I just wish he'd shave his head, he wouldn't even be bad looking if he did. As it is, he just looks contrived and ridiculous.
And yeah, it's always been blatantly obvious that BR is loaded, even up to how she talks about her mum's posh cooking. That's part of what annoys me about her relentless political posturing: it's easy to be the leftest of all lefts when you're minted (I am super liberal btw, I just find rich people who tell poorer people how they should be socialist slightly odd).

Same! I used to enjoy following her (and I like her jewellery and have ordered some stuff before) but I had to unfollow because it was too much all the time. I was stunned when I saw on her timeline when looking back for the tweet about BR that she’s split with the boyfriend she has just bought a place with.

I’ve always found the sex work stuff really hard to swallow from her, I’m not a SWERF there’s a lot to say about the whole thing that I won’t get into here, but...... it’s really easy to advocate for these things when your kids will never be in that position. Jemima will be a social media manager for Vice or something, so she’s fine? They always talk about a small % of sex workers active on Twitter and not the fact care leavers / DV and other abuse survivors are hugely over represented in SW populations. I think it was around that era I unfollowed her because she hasn’t a clue.
I've missed something here (sorry) but who is Jenny Tighe? I kind of remember Bethany being pals with her but that's about it. Also feel sorry for Charlotte - BPD sounds bleeping horrible, and she is hilarious.

I feel exactly this. I'm all for safe working conditions for sex workers, and decriminalisation, and creating support networks wherever possible. No judgement on career choice.
But I just don't think I can be cool about a society where I'm supposed to think it's fiiiiiiiine that men can consume women as products and that's sound? And don't structures in which traditionally female skills (caring; teaching; nursing) earn significantly less than male skills (carpentry or whatever tit) and are valued less force women into the sex industry? And that's before we even consider trafficked women (AND CHILDREN)? And apparently that means my politics are bad?
I dunno, I despair. But you're right, people like BR will never really have to worry about that.

YEP completely agree with everything you've said. Something that always felt...icky...that that lot shared would be oh you're working in an office for a man 9-5 and you think we're oppressed~? Like it's the ultimate GOTCHA moment?! No love but you studied English Lit at SOAS or wherever the duck you went after Alleyn's and now you've a lifestyle business spanking rich men from a flat in Holborn which is fabulous for you, like you can't compare that to a woman who (like you rightly pointed out!) is desperate or trafficked and turns to sex work through lack of choice.
That whole circle of SW Twitter feels so self congratulatory and like it's missing so many important voices but they're too busy selling books on their experiences to care about that? A bit like JM. Twitter has really created some monsters hasn't it haha, you're right though there's no discussion allowed around any of these things else it's dogpiling & doxing etc
!The other thing is that all the big SW Twitter accounts she fangirls over are all extremely conventionally attractive (and slim), as well as being educated and social media literate. It's a minor point in amongst all the ludicrous beefing, but always seemed like a bit of a blind spot.

I think she’s really pretty but that pose is so annoying. Sometimes her lips remind of of a cats bum hole.
I also think she is slightly hypocritical given that she’s done the whole “duck flattering” thing (quite rightly - why should plus-size people have to disguise or choose “flattering” clothes to hide themselves away).
She constantly does the pouty face and chooses a certain camera angle at all times which does make her appear slimmer - rarely a proper full “front on” image.
