I guess that level of privilege and leg up means you *can* duck around with a part time job because you don’t have to worry about bills in the same way as the plebs do.

TBF I went to a RG uni but my parents paid £0 for my education to get there, so who is to say who is the more privileged hem hem?

I think this is almost certainly about Bethany. I remember this woman from the very early blogging days and her putting events together to connect the community. I also remember her being (rightly) very upset when Bert got her plus blogger book deal and surprise surprise, not including her. It sounds like Bert made her life a misery in more ways!

Also I have never met either in real life so don’t know how much is online bravado. I wanted to be a blogger back in the day but didn’t have the confidence or style. But pocket rocket (I think that was the name?) always felt like the internet’s big sister whilst Burt just felt cold and mean.

Agreed! If that’s the matting that we can see, his undercoat will be like tight knots. :(

Is she not ‘shaping your young mind?’ Or does she just keep that oddly creepy statement for her students each week?

I didn't realize her "Willow Green" book had come out. Doesn't look like it's doing too well -out 2 months and no reviews on amazon yet..... has she even mentioned it anywhere recently? isn't it meant to have a sequel, wonder of that will happen?
