ASK ME ANYTHING: Yer pal Bert’s new book launched on her grid.

I find myself wondering ‘will be at least trying not to be autobiographical with a filter of Carrie Bradshaw-esque lack of depth?’

And Bert if you read your own thread, any idea who in the Peckham area had left out paperbacks of all your books on a wall, one unopened, one so wrinkled it had been dropped in a bath with a post note it of ‘take them. No, seriously: take them’?

Because that plot point would get me to read another of her books…

I find it so strange that she never seems to read the sort of books she writes (contemporary romance). Feels like a cash grab.

I find the casual attitude her and Alice have to their podcast a bit strange? Frustrating? They have such a slap dash approach (never even listing the books they mention in the episode notes!) but could’ve grown it into a successful podcast (imho).

I appreciate that’s not what everyone wants though so what the hell do I know

Bert would never deign to read such airport fiction, but she lacks the plotting, dialogue, and writing skills to write anything else.

I think that’s a bit unfair! Good airport fiction or beach reads are a skill.

She lacks the plotting, dialogue and writing skills to do that either. She just writes an unedited diary. I assume the plot of the latest tome is jaunty neckerchiefs and your bad a lady character making the HUGE personal discovery that you can wear a dress multiple times. Because what does she even do now?

Oh no, I quite agree with you! To be traditionally published, in whatever genre takes time and dedication to the craft, not just some publisher approaching you to write a book because you’re overweight. I love a good beach read, and there is zero shame to reading them… but Bert would never.

She's got a point there, though. If you've ever been on keto you will know that fruit and veggies very much have 'carbs' (ask any athlete on a heavily monitored diet for performance - Mo Salah gets all his carbs from fruit, apparently) and carbohydrates aren't evil, they're just a nutritional value that you shouldn't have too much or even too little of when you want a balanced diet.

Sorry, that was about the carb thing - the thread loaded weird.

Also amused by the Peckham book plea. Do you think they dropped the book in the bath out of rage once they realised they could have read Twitter/LiveJournal for free?

Her husband is making more of an appearance lately I've noticed. He seems to have dropped weight too.

God all the "movement" "move her bod" tit is sooooo annoying. Makes it ten times more annoying than if she just called it what it is (exercise/training)

I see there was a #notanad from a clothes company flogging £100 t-shirts.

Amused at the "South London born and bred" as though she grew up in a Stockwell postcode wars estate.

Head girl no less
Her effortless cool right there.

A 25k a year secondary school, Russell Group uni, study abroad, Masters. And she bits about crocheting, going to the cinema and occasionally doing a hobby job like her PT.

Her parents paid the equivalent of a house deposit on her education (and bought her house) and yer pal Bert seems to not appreciate the incredible privilege either is but kept the head girl energy.

No wonder she kept that quiet.
