I think you're underestimating the Spengali here. Genius move on his part to upgrade his phone and further highlight her fatness and ugliness. This guy just stays under the radar throwing "unintentional shade" at KT and making her look disgusting to potential suitors. It's all part of his plan. Let's check the Spengali progress report:

- Destroy her marriage (check)

No doubt he makes an effort to keep her around. Spence is an insecure man-child who sought after a married woman and later became attached to her after she hooked him with her manipulation tactics! She used flattery and compliments to make an already weak man feel special and on top of the world. She knew she had found a chump who'd help her rise to YouTube stardom, and I know for a fact that he does not feel like he can sustain a channel all on his own because (and he said this) believes KT is the star of the show! He might not care as much about becoming YouTube famous, but he's just as obsessed with the channel as she is. He wants recognition and strives to be like Adam & Justin. As much as KT is ruining and continues to ruin their channel and reputation, he will not let it all go so easily. He's invested lots of time and energy, but he knows exactly who she is. They are also the type of people who will stay together to spite others and prove them wrong. One thing is for sure, it's not a healthy relationship no matter how you look at it.
