This is a bit of a reach, yeah sure she could have googled it to find out what it was but why would Molly an English person be in the know of all american bank holidays? She was literally saying its a bank holiday and it's busy. I'm sure Americans aren't clued up on our bank hols. I watched a vlog of someone who was there for memorial day (maybe i cant remember) and they said oh it's memorial day so it's busy as its like going to Alton Towers on our bank holiday but didn't go into details about what the holiday was.
I said I wouldn’t expect her to know of it, but upon finding out the name and seeing celebrations/reference to it, it was a missed opportunity to educate herself and her audience. Framing it as an inconvenience to making her holiday busy, is embarrassing. I don’t know your heritage, but as a Black woman, Molly’s comment stung.
I’m not going to continue arguing because we have clearly different views on this but she didn’t frame it as an inconvenience she said it was busy, the same we would say Alton Towers was busy at Easter. It’s a comment to let people know the parks are busier on bank holidays. It depends whether you mean lightning lane or genie+. Certain attractions I.e guardians of the galaxy are ‘lightening lane’ you pay a fixed amount for that one ride, it changes daily but today is $17 pp. Genie+ is $15 (I think) plus tax and it works in the same way the old fast pass system did to an extent, you use the app to book on rides and can book another one either once you have ridden the first ride or 2 hours after booking - there is a vague guarantee you’ll probably be able to do 3 rides a day but ofc this depends on how busy the parks are, the rides you want to do and how speedy and determined you are!

I think Tom is back at work, doing an actual job where you can't just swan off whenever you want so i would hope she didn't even ask him!
