Am not radio1 listener, but when ve seen Melvin on tv he comes across well & would work well at radio 2 .

Joel in for Dermot this morning. This is part of the trouble with using celebrities as DJs and not proper DJs. It's not their only job so there's no consistency these days 
i don’t want to sound like a broken record in this thread but i cannot BEAR jerry and can’t believe that he’s got a promotion to that slot.
he barely seems aware that he’s on the radio half the time, how is he meant to try and hold a conversation with the musicians they have on. charlie is about to do a lot of heavy lifting

Have they said who's taking over Emma Willis slot on Saturdays? Presumably she's leaving for Strictly? I can't keep up 
I've started listening to greatest hits, it's like the old radio two line up. Much better, only annoying thing is the adverts.

No news on Emma's slot but I can now see either Melvin or Joel filling this slot if Emma can't do it because of Strictly.
Melvin on a Saturday afternoon would be ace, got a nice energy for that slot, I think I am beginning to realise I really fancy Melvin...
Please no more Joel - he's getting a bit tiresome covering for everyone. Helen Thomas really needs to get some actual DJs in these slots.

Seems utterly stupid to me that the BBC have offered Emma the Strictly slot so shrotly after her taking the R2 slot. Total waste of time, it's not like she's leaving for another company.
And I can't stand Charlie Hedges, she's always so horrible to Melvin, it's nice to hear him in the evenings on R2 on his own and he has great rapport with OJ when they hand over (who I've just started following on insta, he's hot, I didn't realise! I like him even more now hahaha)

But didn’t Claudia have a r2 show on a Saturday at the same time as hosting Strictly? Or was that an earlier slot?

I was only thinking the other day that I might need to start doing the same - just need to remember to tune in the station before driving off in my car as I keep forgetting! The ads have put me off previously but it’s getting desperate now . . .
Maybe Emma and Ramesh will swap slots then
It’s nice to be able to listen to the breakfast show this morning on R2 without clown car horns and stupid voices. Wish Gary would do the slot permanently (I know he doesn’t want to)
