When they say Jerry is joining Charlie to present live lounge, does that mean he’s going to join her every day in the slot that was RMC?

It was Dean. Rumours of a fall out to split them up. They never seemed to have on air chemistry.
In more recent times it seemed either Nat or Vicky was off somewhere. It seemed too rare for them to present together considering their names are on the show.
I'm wondering if we will see Trevor Nelson again or he will have to quit like Bob Harris. If so Spoony to take over the afternoon slot and Melvin to take over from Spoony at 10.
4-7 is the tough one. Emma Willis is a TV presenter and Ellie Taylor a comedian. Then they have other comedians as part of the station like Romesh and Josh. I hope a legit DJ gets a chance in the slot.
It seems these days the best chance to be a DJ is not to train and get experience as one, it's to influence, do comedy etc and be shoehoned in to a role.
There don’t seem to be many radio djs coming up anymore . Jerry is a highly regarded dj in his field but as a radio dj, he is terrible. Greg, Sam and Dani, Jack Saunders,Sian Eliri etc. they all came up from student and regional radio.
Years ago the holiday cover on r1 used to be unknown radio djs from reigonal or student stations. I can’t remember the last time I heard them champion an up and coming radio dj

It's such a shame there isn't a DJ school or something so that people can be trained to be good DJs. It's just celebrities-of-sorts now. Such a shame.
Even my local radio station has two comedians in the afternoon slot.
I’ve been trying to think who I’d like to see brought in. Maybe Dev Griffith for 2? I used to like him on R1, especially with Alice.
Bit more old school but Joel Ross (JK & Joel) has just left Hits 00s breakfast. Would possibly be good for lates if OJ gets drive.

Most media studies used to cover it; I know this because I tried to go down that route academically but was terrible at everything else included in the broad media umberella. I have no idea any more whether there is but there's so much talent at local stations, the BBC just seem to prefer to hire TV presenters who don't understand that presenting radio is a completely different, more intimate beast and the happy clappiness they're taught in TV presenting is offputting to anyone who enjoys the radio for being the radio!
I wondered this. Must be odd arriving and presenting as a three for years but then the two men are being replaced with one and she is staying to do the same show. Jerry’s IG post where he’s clearly searched for messages from Charlie including the words ‘love you’ is pretty cringey. And the last one where he has a tear rolling down his cheek
Do we know who's taking over early breakfast on R1? Under the right person that show is brilliant - such a community vibe of people finishing the night shift and mental people like me up for the gym. Dean was not brilliant.
