Only the parents have said that.
Exactly! When I was a young un as far as my parents were concerned drugs are drugs, no distinction between pot and smack, anyone using drugs was a druggie. There is a difference between recreational drug use and addiction. We simply dont know the details of this lads situation and nor should we! Mam should have kept her trap shut and not gone near a tabloid with her 'childs' private business.
How much is crack these days? If he is coining large cash 'donations' in from various sources no reason he can't afford drugs and lawyers.

The mother, The Sun, The BBC, the presenter, the young person.

People are desperately searching for a simple story with a villain they can bay for the blood of.

It looks messy, complex and as if a number of individuals made mistakes they tont want to take any responsibility for.

Why do we find it so hard to reserve our judgment, speculation and vitriol even when we know we lack facts?

This is FASCINATING because it really is a case of ‘unreliable narrator’
Do I trust the sun? No.
Do I trust the bbc? No
Do I trust the word of a mother who went to the paper and not the police? No
Do I trust the bbc presenter who wiped his insta this afternoon? No
And do I trust the 20 year old, potential drug addict? No.
Spot on. (y)

Honestly, I'm not being nasty, but I think she's just not very bright and she thought the BBC could stop him sending her son money, because she doesn't know how these things work? We can speculate on her motives in going to the BBC then the press, but I think the most straightforward explanation is just that she's not bright and she thought the BBC could stop HE, so when they didn't, she felt like she'd been wronged.

If this whole story is true, I definitely feel sorry for her. Loving an addict is horrible. I'm just saying that I think her actions seem odd because she misunderstood what her actions would cause to happen.
Not very bright....or a desperate parent worried about a kid with an addiction?

Just a thought: Theoretically, would deleting one’s Instagram anonymise any DMs that you had sent? Say, sexually explicit messages to young men? So the words would still be in messages but not linked to anyone’s username?

Your profile pic, i mean fucking hell:ROFLMAO:

Let's say a sexual relationship between a 17 year old and a 60 year old is not illegal, it is from a moral standpoint, horrendous. The power imbalance is bad enough but a public figure using money and status to influence that very young, and therefore potentially vulnerable, person. Nope, nope, nope.
We have absolutely no idea what relations were between the older man and the younger person. As to "very young": this is simply not true is it. The over-egging of this particular pudding is not helping us piece together a clearer picture of the reality. Too many assumptions based on some misplaced morality about an older man buying content from someone younger. People are projecting far too much on all this in absence of more information.

I don’t read the sun at all but nowadays stories like this can only be published with evidence and a legal team, someone on this morning said something along this. So IF they saw evidence, then who’s lying?
The whole Johnny Depp trial was not about whether he was a wife abuser but whether The Sun had a reasonable expectation that Johnny Depp was an abuser based on the information they had. They won, this is no different. If the Mother came to them with (potentially fabricated) evidence then they can print the story.

“You all sit there behind ya little keyboards and be the big men. Some of us are young at heart ya know?… well, I’ve had it. I’ve HAD IT. I’m taking a break.”
Paul? Taking a break from social media? I think there’s a higher chance of Lorraine Kelly being announced as the prolific male BBC nonce than that happening 😆

“You sit there thinking you’re the big billy bollocks being dicks in the universe. It’s the weirdest world in the world njahaha”
