Ok. So this “mother” went to the sun with a story. She must have had to produce some evidence to back the story up or their legal team would never have let them go to print with it.
I'm not so sure that I'd give The Sun that much benefit of the doubt.

The picture can only come from one of 2 sources. The boy (who’s claiming all this is fake) or the mum.
The Twitter account which initially posted the picture said that it's from the friend of another person Huw was messaging with. It was just released as "proof" that Huw is a sleaze, it was never claimed to be part of this case.

This development is similar to the insights given in the News Agents podcast. They said it was clear that the parent and child were not on the same page about the allegations

and if it is OF, I think it throws up a wider conversation socially about what happens when you destigmatise sex work but no work is done to actually protect or support those from the reality of choosing it as a career.
100% agree, I said the very same thing earlier using 345,672 more words, which is kind of my brand at this point.

But parents do get things wrong, they can do things that aren't in their children's best interests, and they can be manipulated. Why are you so invested that they are the innocent party? They've obliterated the trust that their child had in them (if they had it to start with). They went to the Sun, and that I cannot understand. Go to the police if you're that concerned, not the Sun, with the best will in the world why on earth would you think that splashing the most intimate details of your child's life on the front page of the tabloids would help anything?

Did you believe Karen Matthews? A lot of the women discussed on tattle are mothers - would you believe that everything Katie Price did was in her children's best interests? Jack Monroe?
If it turns out the only way for the Mum to show her love/concern for her son was via this route is pretty unfortunate and hopefully not a broader reflection of parental relations in our country.

The Sun may be scum but they will NOT be happy about being called liars and I think will bring the receipts. Interested to see their front page tomorrow!
I’m not sure they can. HE a has a right to privacy.

The young person sent them a statement on h the Friday saying it wasn’t true and they printed the story anyway.

Their story was always, “we reported this allegation to the BBC and the person we reported it about is still on TV” - this was a fact. The story was correct.

Doesn’t mean they won’t be liable though… be interesting to see how this plays out.

WTAF was this all a distraction? That victim or accuser is either paid off or it all has been a pack of lies and the poor mother is at the end of her tether with it all to help their child?

Oh my lord these threads are moving SO fast!
Can’t wait to see Huw is presenting Nudes At Ten.
The viewing figures will be going through the roof 😂 with everyone wanting to check.

I’ve seen comments regarding Sam Fox at 16 and other topless models in the sun aged under 18, not right at all, but at the time it was allowed.

The minimum age was raised to 18 after the passing of the Sexual Offences Act. in 2003
