I can’t understand her wanting to buy her own home. She’s built her whole career on travelling, which she presumably won’t be doing when she buys somewhere...?I know she’s saving for her first home and is very lucky to have parents who are letting her live at home to save whilst her siblings moved out a long time ago but I am so shocked that she’s done this as it doesn’t seem to be the best financial decision for her as you’d assume she’d be saving every penny so that she can buy her house? She must be rolling in dosh haha!
I don’t speak Spanish so couldn’t say for definite but sure I saw a comment saying that the people running the boat trip were shouting to make sure everyone had their masks on. In that case it’s not just ignorance, it’s sheer disrespect. I doubt she’d go travelling the UK like this in the middle of a pandemic, so why is it okay to do it in Mexico? I used to really like her content but this to me is no better than the love islanders swanning off to Dubai. Do better Christanne. The video where she went on the boat with her new bf made me CRINGE as everyone on the boat was masked up and she was there without a care in the world.
Agreed she has so many video options from home. her travel is no more essential than a love island influencer. She could of made advice videos about travelling or country guides from home. Hell she could have even just travelled around the UK. She did not need to travel to a developing country in the middle of a global pandemic and risk putting extra pressure on their healthcare system. Especially as she never wears a bloody mask.On the one hand, she's a travel vlogger who's moved longish-term to another country, which I think puts her a little above the influencers in Dubai thing, who are using "work" (taking photos of themselves with too much makeup and not enough clothes, while advertising products they could sell to us from their bedrooms) as an excuse for a holiday.
On the other, there's next to no evidence of the pandemic in Mexico in her videos, she's prancing around as if life is completely normal, I can count the number of times we've seen her in a mask on one hand and still have fingers left and she's taking selfies with fans with their faces pressed together. For someone who claimed that living at home with her parents, going on road trips to the Lake District to meet friends and family and going on holiday with her best friend "just wasn't challenging her", I'm sure as hell not seeing a lot of "challenging" going on when she's spending 95% of her time doing handstands on the beach, snorkeling and eating the least-spicy food she can find all day every day.
If she comes home now, she'll go straight into mandatory 10 day hotel quarantine and I'd genuinely like to see her blog of that. She should have enough footage for a few more videos so she can spend her time editing them for release over the next few weeks and since she took all her equipment with her there's no reason why she can't film her What I Spent In Mexico and What I Packed But Didn't Use videos in the hotel. And if she's bored, she can do some handstands to occupy the rest of her time.
Then when she actually gets home, I'd like to see her challenge herself for real. I'd like to see her use her imagination to produce some local travel content when the worst of the restrictions get lifted, I'd like to see her do some lockdown vlogs that aren't just "a day in the life aka what I ate today", maybe I'd like to see a proper video about what it's like learning a new language, since she was taking that quite seriously before she met David. Maybe some cooking videos, recreating her favourite Mexican dishes? She can create all the Mexico-themed digital products for her website. Also, she used to be a freelance video editor - she could go back to doing that. It's work she can safely do from home so it's not like she can't still be earning.
Last year she volunteered for the NHS - maybe she can do something for her community this time around or be a Zoom guest speaker for schools or Scouts or the WI. She was talking about writing a book. Even if she's not doing travel-related stuff, there's plenty she could be doing without backpacking across another country.
And then when the world goes back to normal and everything is properly safe again, we can all enjoy her next series from somewhere sunny without the bad taste in our mouths.
What’s the hotel quarantine got to do with it anyway :/ it’s literally 10 days and is only £800 ... cheap compared to to other countries. And she’d have to quarantine at home if notLoooool so if she has to quarantine “I will just stay here until foreseeable future”, urm how hun your visa runs out in March. Is she just going to illegally stay in Mexico?? She’s so annoying, these countries are not your playground for you to do what you want.
It´s almost like she´s living in an alternate reality, where she´s the sane one because she has the privilige to keep living her life as if there wasn´t a global pandemic, and everybody else who is staying home and wearing a mask is overreacting...she is starting to give off denier vibes, she seems pretty self centered, I interpreted it as being independent, but I think she cannot put other people first, so she "moved" to a country where her money allows her to skirt all the rules, a country where healthcare is subpar for the average citizen. I´m curious to see what she´ll do when her visa runs out. Also, she seems surprised when places are empty, like yes because there is a pandemic? I do like her, but I wish she would have stayed at home. So much more respect for people like Psycotraveller who have adapted their channels.
