Once the channels start taking that route I lose interest, that kind of content discrefits ASMR and is part of the reason that a lot of people will never fully understand what ASMR really is and just consider it to be a 'wierd sexual'thingI know it’s been discussed above but infuriates me how ASNR channels are becoming more provocative/sexualised. I used to really enjoy KatieASMr who only has about 25k subs but now all of our videos have provocative thumbnails/TSA style pat downs etc.
IMHO it's always worth discussing because it's the biggest issue facing ASMR right now. It feels like the whole 'thing' is in a slump, and all these girls are trying to either jumpstart a new channel or boost their old one by being more suggestive. I think the biggest problem isn't even the content, but how it's so blatantly a money-grab scheme, especially when it's paired with a Throne list, as mentioned before. Plus watching people who were openly against sexualizing ASMR suddenly have a 'sexual awakening', no doubt to the soundtrack of cash registers clanging.I know it’s been discussed above but infuriates me how ASNR channels are becoming more provocative/sexualised. Okay I think that’s a really good point: “it’s just that you have to be good now, instead of randomly rattling fake nails against your eyeglasses case while chewing gum.” The standard for good ASMR has raised and some people understand it, how to trigger it, and a lot of people don’t and think it’s about just the sounds or what so many others are doing who also probably don’t get it. And a lot of those people don’t understand why their views dropped and have decided they need to sexualize their content to get their views back. And then they just become this sexual novelty to a bunch of creeps instead of delivering actual ASMR. That’s one thing I have to hand to Valeriya ASMR. She’s always been sexual but her ASMR skills were also always strong. But the rest of these girls just seem to only know how to simulate BJ’s on a mic and it’s killing the credibility of all ASMR.IMHO it's always worth discussing because it's the biggest issue facing ASMR right now. And the saddest thing? It isn't even necessary. There's still lots of good channels that do very well on views and subscribers without any of this 'tug my shirt lower and lean forward nonsense' (a bunch of them have already been recommended in this thread). And yes, sorry, I'm on my boolsheet again but I checked WhisperAudios channel as an example, and her boobie-licious Monthly Faves vids do as well as her Vampire roleplays with no cleavage (about 30k views average for each) and both of them are blown away by her hand-exam vid which pulled in 170k views! And she's wearing a very loose, billowy shirt in that, and most of the time all we see is the hands anyways! It's just that you have to be good now, instead of randomly rattling fake nails against your eyeglasses case while chewing gum.
it's so sad, I think this is partially the influence of only fans, so many women just see this as what they need to doOkay I think that’s a really good point: “it’s just that you have to be good now, instead of randomly rattling fake nails against your eyeglasses case while chewing gum.” The standard for good ASMR has raised and some people understand it, how to trigger it, and a lot of people don’t and think it’s about just the sounds or what so many others are doing who also probably don’t get it. especially OF, porn seems quite "extreme" but OF somehow has normalised it into what seems like almost instagram rather than what it iscompletely agree.
porn, OF and social media have a lot to answer for
yep. porn IS extreme. violent porn is now considered average so things like OF seem "harmless" in retrospect (which it's not)especially OF, porn seems quite "extreme" but OF somehow has normalised it into what seems like almost instagram rather than what it is
I think twitter has played into this also. I follow a few ASMRtists on there so I also see tweets they interact with and many seem to encourage each other to post or create OF or Fanhouse accounts to post pics.especially OF, porn seems quite "extreme" but OF somehow has normalised it into what seems like almost instagram rather than what it is
That's an interesting possibilty. I know there have been complaints about changes to YouTube's monetization and search optimization, and Youtube is very fussy now about being corporate friendly to the max...I know a few creators have been saying that ASMR is being strangled by the algorithm due to the amount of sleaze and porn like ASMR that is popping up
I've learned my lesson, I don't have Twitter and I rarely check in on any ASMR creators because it's always a bit of a letdown... patting each other on the back about OF, or dragging their fans/commenters for some slight, real or imagined, or just acting the way that people on Twitter usually do. I get that they're all real people with real flaws and real opinions but y'know, never meet your herosI think twitter has played into this also. I don't like the new content, makign drinks etc the content of hers I liked was with other people doing massage-type things, what does everyone else think? I wish she would do more with her cats, that asmr massage on her cat with the purring was possibly the most relaxing thing ever!Ive noticed that Itsblitzzz has started posting ASMR content again on YT. I do enjoy her ASMR,its the only content of hers I can actually watch,I have no interest in her vlogs because I find her quite a hypocrite. But of course shes back with the ADs,something she claimed she didnt like doing
omfg whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa really??? Wasn't she the first person he was buying stuff for too?Has anyone else noticed that the rich guy buying all the asmrtists full wishlists from throne ("Batman") is now in a relationship with Starling ASMR? Am I watching an irl episode of 90 day fiance? Ok that's mean but this is actually concerning...
Okay I THOUGHT that was who the guy was since they were both wearing Batman socks in the latest pic she posted. I hope this doesn’t inspire others to try and buy affections through Throne. Hopefully he’s actually a nice guy and she likes him for more than his money.Has anyone else noticed that the rich guy buying all the asmrtists full wishlists from throne ("Batman") is now in a relationship with Starling ASMR? This is all based on those couple of cryptic tweets, right? She had a husband two years ago, what happened to him?Has anyone else noticed that the rich guy buying all the asmrtists full wishlists from throne ("Batman") is now in a relationship with Starling ASMR? She announced a while ago that they had split. I think he sold all her cameras etc. This is all based on those couple of cryptic tweets, right? She had a husband two years ago, what happened to him?
