After reading the anti-covid thread my brain is just about to melt. The amount of ignorance is astonishing.

I totally understand people's fear when it comes to getting injected with something that wasn't tested for years. However, they feel entitled to do whatever they want at the same time ignoring the risk of transmission.

They want to not get vaccinated but also travel, work as nurses or GP. Further spreading the disease. How do such people sleep at night?

Admirable goal but sadly pretty obvious from the threads on here that some people just do not care for peer reviewed science, don't understand what 'public' health means, don't understand or care to learn how vaccines are developed...it's not about facts for them. Have tried to steer clear because it actually makes me feel a bit ill tbh but it's absolutely nuts.

Yes! It’s crazy- and when you try to point them in the direction of peer reviewed sources/facts they double down. We are fortunate to have such medicine available to use !

Your dissertation sounds like an interesting read! It’d be interesting to see why there appears to be a rise in anti-vax/ vaccine sceptics

Wow at 9 weeks? Are you sure? They are only recommending women 14- 36 weeks as safe to get it 🙈
Yes I’m sure! her GP told her to do what she was comfortable with and as she travels a lot for work she chose to have Pfizer yesterday.

Ah okay I’m in Ireland and they only offer it to pregnant woman 14- 36 weeks as you have the reassurance of the first 12 week scan before committing to the vaccine ☺

I understand people being uncomfortable with having a ‘new’ vaccine.. what I don’t understand is those who justify it by saying that it’s for me, not for anyone else. It’s not! The reduction in transmissibility is for everyone else.

Exactly! That's why I don't understand the entitlement that comes with it.

If I was against the vaccine I would also understand that some people may not want me to work near people at risk, fly abroad or go to the office. Because after all I am able to infect everyone. So I should be able to accept the consequences associated with this choice.

But apparently it is okay for non-vaccinated people to spread the virus, kill people and still go to the club as if nothing happened. When I reminded them that freedom work both ways and that some businesses may want them to get the vaccine to protect their own employees they lost it. How can you say that you want to be free to do whatever you want but private companies are forced to accept you even if you may kill their employees or family?

Eh people like to think they’re smarter than the highly regarded doctors and scientists who created this vaccine and would rather read Facebook articles from click bait news sites and listen to stories from friends of a friend than to listen to the people who studied at and work for the best universities and labs in the world.

Spread disease with your anti vax mates I don’t care but don’t go crying victim when people don’t want to be around you because you’re so self involved that you don’t care for anyone else’s health or the world returning to normality.

Well this thread has taken a heartening turn. Thanks for confirming that the anti-vax CT-ists are in the minority even if it sometimes doesn't feel like it.

They’re are the minority it’s just that they’re loudest and the most overbearing, which makes them seem they are the majority.

I get the confusion -this was the Anti Conspiracy Theory Thread but it ended up that the only "conspiracy" talked about was Covid and the vaccine etc so it seemed daft to keep that name but I am more than happy for the title to be changed to Anti Conspiracy Theories #3 if that is deemed more appropriate.
It was a brave effort @caroleffinbaskin but I think we have to accept that for the moment Covid is the conspiracy theory. Give it a while and we'll be on to something else. I'm predicting the return of climate change as the next 'hoax'.

They’re just so important that the government wants to track their every movement and possibly alter their extraordinary DNA. The delusional behaviour from them is bewildering.

Life is all about give and take but for those who want their freedom but don’t want the vaccine or to comply with the guidance it is only about take and clearly that’s the attitude they have about most things… compensation for having to stay home comes to mind.

We would all rather Covid hadn’t happened, but it has and it’s here so we as a collective society need to do what’s best for everyone.

I was listening to a reproductive specialist on the radio last night, vaccines are known for messing up mensural cycles for a month or two because your immune system is closely linked with your sex hormones and let’s be honest stress has a massive impact too. It’s not a new or surprising side effect and should only last a month or two. But the CTs like to take it run to the moon with such news 🙄
