I don't understand why Aija is so obseseed with thinnessI didn't share these women to critique them but to show real world examples of affluence.
Oop the future Dutch queen isn't slim, like Anna said you have to be in order to be in high society. is this why Anna gained weight?
Zara chooses to work. She is one of the rare royal family members that chose to not just leech off the taxpayers but have her own career and a husband who's a former athlete, not some lazy rich heir. Emma was born into a wealthy Nigerian family and her husband the marquis of Bath was probably poorer than her, but she has no need to work either. She runs her family estate and is a socialite. If that's a job then I want that job
I'm sure she would say it's different for Catharina as she was born in high society. But us the plain Janes would have to look like skin and bones to make our way into this circle. 
Aija could have acheived much more and evolve in way better social circles but seeing how lazy she is...
It certainly takes skill, and being born into wealth Emma was trained from a young age for it.
I posted very early on in the Anna Bey threads about the kind of content that a real woman of status needs. How to entertain and run a large household is essential, especially if you're married and your husband has any kind of value. You need to entertain his colleagues for example, you need to give and receive invites in your community. If I find my post I will share it here.

Without revealing too much of myself I will say I have personal experience with this and to compare sugar life to wife life? It would be to liken the very first ride a young girl has on a rented pony at the petting zoo to becoming an internationally known champion on the polo circuit. If that is not too opaque!
What can Anna tell us of prenuptials? Postnuptials? Old money families who don't want you to marry their sons? Dealing with your rich husband straying? Keeping a lover of your own without being caught? Amassing your own private monies within the marriage as a cushion? Getting your children into the right schools and extracurricular activities? Dealing with the savage sharks aka yummy mummies at the school gates? Throwing an elegant dinner or gathering at your home? Staff and running a large estate?

The try-hardness is shining through and very obvious. It's obvious she's not in the VIP section so she's not doing any kind of networking, just pretending to be a part of the equestrian world. Anything to maintain a "high society" and "affluent" appearance but failing miserably. Anna wishes that her home looked like Ivan's client's home. No loving family pictures on the mantel for Raty!

I agree. It is also pretty desperate/in-authentic to go to a horse show daily like this. I grew up with horses and own one now and enjoy one show but two days is boring never mind three, especially for a newcomer . The only people in general who go daily are relatives of competitors/people who work there

The only horse related thing I recall is the odd bit of polo?. In my view polo is social, no riders I know go to the polo. I have been once but was bored stiff and prefer the races.
