I don’t think these two are in massive debt, outside of (most likely) still paying PMI because they put so little down on the house. Every pricey item she has is either gifted, HEAVILY discounted via vouchers or she sold off other gifted items to pay for the new items. She sold half her bags to fund those two Hermes bags she purchased in store. Her engagement ring is a glorified CZ. Etc, etc. thank She is not smart w her $, but I don’t think they’re drowning in debt.

Destination weddings are actually WAY cheaper than a wedding would be in the states. Fewer people can make it, outside of schlepping there/back and hotel stay, you save on venue, food, booze, etc. It sounds posh, but trust it’s BUDGET just like our girl Alyssa!

That’s a good point actually. Everything she posts seems so luxe, so boujee… but it’s all gifted / sponsored She’s a magician for constructing her life to seem more glamorous than it is but that’s the reality for a lot of influencers.

They make a cute couple but the way their outfits are styled is off. Basically mixing a bunch of lux brands but misses the mark.

Marco’s cuffed pants don’t go with the coat and the Dior bag on top just makes it appear really stuffy. He (Alyssa) should’ve gone with either a street look or smart casual.

I find this whole maudlin, greige aesthetic thing happening in this chic’s vlogs and IG so overdone. She wore a beautiful emerald green dress to a wedding and it’s one of the best things I have ever seen her wear. There are plenty of neutral palette lovers who pick 1-2 color pops to add into their capsule wardrobes (hi, I’m one ) and it increases their engagement with a wider audience.

I agree, I feel like they planned to go to Paris just because and it just so happened that it fell on AL's bday. There was one point that Christine mentioned that she and allysha were going to use hotel amenities and AL wasn't going to join bc she got an appt at Hermez. makes you think that she was just there to score another bag without paying extra fees like here in the US lol

I hate epsom leather too and I don't get why some love it. I had an epsom calvi and it wore out pretty badly. I only stick to clemence or togo or chevre from now on. But I think some people think that epsom is good because it is "light" and "scratch-proof" which it isn't.

Also regarding box calf bags. I remember before the pandemic box calf bags were going for less than $2k. I never ever bought one because they age pretty poorly. Whenever I saw one "in the wild" I assumed it was because they couldn't afford a new Hermes bag so they had to dig up vintage or go through their grandma's wardrobe to bring the ratty thing out. But suddenly vintage and box bags are "trendy" now which I don't get. Why would you pay $7k+ for a box calf bag from the 70s when you could get a much newer and fresher bag? And they justify it with "Oh but these are very rare..." pff please

Marco v much loves the designer brands too ever since! But more so bmw, kith and dior. He was flexing his parents car that was special ordered from Germany. I think the dressing up part I agree with since u can tell she influenced him with her kdramas.

She cleaned the streets of NY with her white unhemmed pants. Now she's cleaning UK. what an international cleaner a fashion icon!!

Dior is definitely his aesthetic and wait that BMW isn't his? The tea that has been spilling today is unbelievable lol. So they're both flexing for the gram to prove they live a certain lifestyle.

Am I the only one who thinks that it is weird to organise a wedding abroad and not pay for your guests?

In the Q&A on Instagram she said that her guests would have to pay for everything themselves. Which is incredibly odd because in a normal wedding, at least in my family, the accommodation is organised by the bride and groom. Usually people would rent rooms in the nearby hotels.

But it is odd to me that she has money for Birkin bags, designer clothes and what not but doesn't have money for her friends and family to see the celebration of her relationship with Marco.

If I was a family member or a friend I wouldn't go.

Maybe that's the reason why she might feel kinda chicken-ed out by the situation? Their family must be not that willing to shell some $$$ for a wedding abroad, since we Filipinos kinda are frugal with the money, especially older aunties and uncles. Maybe their families have older members which do not see the interest of destination weddings. Trust me, Filipinos tend to question couples, especially as big and extravagant as this one.

As @lookielurker have said Filipino weddings are being paid off by the couple themselves, sometimes parents pay for the catering or whatnot.

She was probably hoping that both their families are willing to shell out $$$ for their own expenses and to gift them something/ split costs with them. I guess no one seemed to be on board with their idea, so she must be stressing so much. But then again, isn't it Alyssa if she won't bite more than she can chew?
