Moving on doesn’t involve sitting back and waiting for your ex to fail. That confirms your ex lives rent free in your head or you are obsessed. For this lot it is both. I also think the sheer extent to which they write off whole periods of their lives in a hornet’s nest of bitterness is very sad. Most of us go through more than one long term relationship. It means we live through break ups. I might not have enjoyed the end and the breakup but I had happiness in those relationships. They are part of me. And to grow and evolve as person I have to insight into myself. I have been part of the relationship dynamics that failed. As an adult I have to take some responsibility for my own decisions and failures. I make conscious decisions to stay in my relationship. It’s what I want.
Because she is a controlling abuser Alice has dominated and created every relationship she has ever had. Her life is what she made it. Because she has no insight and no empathy and really doesn’t understand what love is, she is always doomed to failure. Which is defined by spending your life waiting for an ex to fail. Instead of working on your own happiness and success and not wishing doom on another human.
This level of bitterness is really drinking the poison yourself and waiting for the other person to die. This is failure to live and to be a healthy human.
