Her ‘acting’ reels are awful, they’re just copies of what everyone else has done but she’s so stilted and awkward that it’s embarrassing

She’s sticking around to make money off the vulnerable women she’s gathered over the years. Her “hard work” has paid off with hunching over to make a belly, endlessly showing her photos where she was very sick and pretending to be a online friend to all!
she’s become so obviously fake now, anything for a dollar. So many instahuns have turned out like this. I understand it’s their income butso many take the piss

Late to the book discussion but I stumbled across Alex after my friend (who seems a big fan) asked me to buy a copy of her book for her as she lives abroad. I had a flick through after it arrived and I was pretty surprised she’d managed to get that published. Lots of ideas that have been talked about/common knowledge for years - the media makes you feel bad about your body and comparing yourself to others makes you feel tit!

It's the same with everything she does, other people's words , thoughts, experiences all cobbled together with her claiming them as her own and her taking centre stage because ultimately its all about her and this odd need for validation and attention from strangers online which is clearly lacking in her personal life.

Her relationship with Dull 'I know I'm being filmed but I'll just carry on pretending otherwise ' Dave is like a parent child, she very obviously irritates him but he bizarrely puts up with and enables the ditzy silly me blonde act that has become her default setting .. day to day she must be exhausting to be around.

She’s so needy, constantly wants him to tell her she’s perfect. Even before sending screen shots of her panicking he doesn’t love her. Ridiculous

The video of her crying because she wants attention hung over was unreal to me, like I couldn’t be with someone that needy

I've never listened to Alex's podcast with Em Clarkson before, but randomly started to listen to the latest episode - Alex immediately mentioned her withdrawal from anti-depressants and how she keeps having panic attacks - then quickly corrects herself and describes them as anxiety attacks - and tbh, from Em's reaction, it sounds like she's internally rolling her eyes. she genuinely seems to be losing patience with her - which is understandable, especially when she's committed to recording podcasts with her, so can't take a break, despite the obvious change in Alex. although I do wish that - as her friend - she'd take the opportunity to intervene and highlight to Alex how irresponsible her behaviour is, in terms of her in-depth descriptions about medication and regular sharing of pro-ana content.

and ofc, Alex refers to the tantrum she threw when she asked for people's experiences on withdrawal from anti-depressants and wasn't flooded with reassuring, comforting comments, and then became incredibly angry that people had shared the reality of withdrawal, despite her literally asking for people's experiences. she was very clear in explaining that she would never dream of replying to anyone's question in such a way, and would only ever send a positive, reassuring response - even if it wasn't an accurate description of her own experience. so essentially, she would happily lie to people to make them feel better, because that's the response she expects - she didn't want to know the reality or have people be real with her, she just wanted to be metaphorically patted on the head and told that everything would be okay. Em responded by pointing out that she did ask for people's experiences, and that everyone isn't like her - which to me was her way of saying "most people aren't as comfortable lying as you are". ultimately though, if she simpym wanted people to send her positivity and good vibes, she should have specified that - not asked for people's experiences and then been furious when people responded with exactly what she asked for! 🤦🏻‍♀️

This is totally on point. She takes no responsibility for setting appropriate boundaries (i.e. asking for what she wants to receive from people) and then gets angry when well-meaning members of her online community share experiences with her. I have always thought it’s weird when people overshare with influencers and form parasocial relationships with them but I can see how her question invited those responses from people inclined to engage in that way.

I am a few weeks behind on the podcast because I only listen when I’ve listened to everything good in my feed 😂 but it’s similar to an anecdote she shared about a lady on the train engaging her in conversations about weight loss and that she didn’t feel able to challenge her on it… is that not what she has build her whole career and following on? She was SO judgemental about this woman, saying things like ‘it felt like weight loss was her sole purpose in life’ how bleeping dare you?! Is that not the golden opportunity to say ‘I’m not comfortable talking about this and I am actually pretty heavily involved in unlearning diet culture, can we talk about something else?’ Even if you don’t want to try and convert a stranger, how dare you make that judgement on them and also fail so badly at doing the things you are always telling your followers to do. It’s so easy to do in your echo chamber.

I actually don't think they like each other..they are both emotionally immature and needy. Both are used to being centre stage and adored so are incredibly sensitive to any form of criticism or critique, which has been very apparent of late when they have both shown their true colours via SM. Alex is way more problematic with the content she peddles.

How can she say no judgement here if someone wants to diet when she’s posted that Emma Thompson reel and is banging on about how diets don’t work, so she clearly is judging people!!

Diet comes from the Greek word diata meaning way of life, and if you choose a sensible approach following a diet can work and you can have sustainable weight loss. There’s a lot I don’t like about diet culture but not everyone diets to be ‘thin’ 🙄

I’ve unfollowed, she’s so chaotic
I’m considering unfollowing and Nelly London, both have gone so strange and full on since becoming influencers full time. I feel like they should’ve kept their day jobs or gone part time or something.

that end paragraph about judgement though! 🤣🤣

how does she not realise how incredibly hypocritical she is, supposedly promoting body confidence and being fiercely anti diet culture, while simultaneously exposing all her followers to triggering pro ana content! eating disorders are a cruel illness, and i am. not judging Alex's obvious relapse - but i absolutely do judge her for her using her own struggles as an excuse to unnecessarily place her followers at risk - especially when she's dilly aware that many of them are vulnerable, having built her entire audience on her posts about body positivity and not equating your weight with your worth etc. equally, i judge her for profiting financially from the very people she is placing at risk of being triggered with her sneaky affiliate links and dishonest ads! that's gross.

Just watched those stories of her mother cutting her fringe and urgh once again I just can’t with her. Why film it? Why ask her mother to cut her hair at all? Why waste time and money (ha, like she paid for it) getting a semi-fringe cut in in the first place if you’re just going to mess with it almost immediately after? And let’s not even go near the fact that she calls it a “minge”. Not big, not clever, just irritating as hell.

I’m sorry but what the duck is this outfit

she really is looking so slim these days…interesting how a lot of these body positive influencers lost weight as soon as theysecured an audience
Shooting something. Is it a bin bag commercial? How to style a Brabantia liner into a dress?

Am I the only one who doesn’t think she’s looking that slim? She has lost a bit of weight admittedly but I wouldn’t say she looks overly slim. She’s definitely trying to suck her cheeks in and pose so she appears slimmer though

Didn't she say literally YESTERDAY that she doesn't feel comfortable posting photos of her body anymore because she isn't plus size?

...obvs goes out the window when she's got a skin tight dress she wants to show off 🥴
