i am honestly so relieved that other people feel similarly about her recent posts sharing low-weight, "sick" photos. it's ironic that she has "helping women feel better about themselves" in her bio, and claims she's all about body confidence, when she is obviously desperately unhappy in her body and yearning to be at a lower weight. and i totally understand that mindset, as i have felt similarly on occasions i have been at a healthier weight, but it's a disordered way of thinking, and she needs to recognise that she's struggling and seek help to work through those thoughts - and let's be honest, if she can afford to freeze her eggs, she can afford therapy. it's unfair on her followers to place them at risk by constantly sharing photos of herself at a low weight because she's seeking validation.
i hadn't even considered the fact that recently she's been wearing very over-sized, baggy clothing - but it's true. she is wearing clothes that hide her body, which shows she's struggling with her body image and feels uncomfortable with her weight - which, in itself, is a standard symptom of an eating disorder, so I'm not saying she shouldn't struggle with these thoughts - but she has a public platform where she has built a following based on promoting body confidence, so she needs to take responsibility for the content she's posting, and step back from SM if she's struggling. it's incredibly irresponsible to continue to share photos of herself at a low weight, because - even if she doesn't want to admit it to herself - on some level, she knows damn well that doing so is placing other people at risk.
whatever has happened to cause a spiral in her disordered thoughts is an issue that needs to acknowledge and address - not use it as an opportunity to make a point of how unwell she was, reminding people that she previously struggled with an eating disorder - which she clearly very much still does - and was very unwell, sharing photos/details of her illness to prove it. and not only that, but the photo she shared of the Olsen twins when they were clearly emaciated and very unwell has a permanent place on her grid - again, unnecessarily triggering imagery for her followers to be needlessly exposed to while scrolling through her page.
these "it's okay to gain weight" and "it's okay my body doesn't look like it did when i was 18" posts are becoming very repetitive, and simply an excuse to share comparison photos between her body now and how she looked at a low weight - i get the impression she's trying to convince herself that gaining weight is okay, rather than reassuring other people. if she is as "recovered" as she claims, why is she clinging onto all these old photos? or even if she doesn't want to get rid of them, i would question why she is constantly looking at them, knowing that is likely to trigger her, fueling comparisons between her underweight body and her body at a healthy weight. she's posted multiple different posts with the caption "it's okay to gain weight", and every single one includes a different low weight photo of herself, which indicates that she's spending time looking back at old photos of when she was sick. that is not indicative of a healthy recovered mindset, and she has a responsibility to recognise that and take accountability for the content she's posting.
i have sympathy for her in the fact that she's obviously struggling, because anorexia is an awful illness, but simultaneously that does not begin to excuse her triggering posts, and she needs to be in a better headspace to be sharing content with such a huge audience - many of whom likely do struggle with eating disorders/disordered eating/body image struggles, thus are vulnerable. her posts are placing them at unnecessary risk of being triggered.
