I had my nephew with me when I did the food shop today, and ended up getting talked into buying all kinds of things 😅 One of which was a tub of the new Ben & Jerry's style ice creams Aldi have.

The ice cream isn't the greatest quality (it was a little grainy), but for £2.49, it's pretty good! We got the turtle beach one, which has caramel and vanilla ice cream and little chocolate shaped turtles with caramel inside. The vanilla ice cream is blue, which I'm pretty sure is the main reason my nephew thought it was the greatest thing he'd ever had 🤣(We had a couple of spoons worth as we packed the shopping away - purely for quality control purposes, obviously)

As someone who's half Polish, Lidl is definitely not the place for good eastern European foods. Polski skleps are genuine and have the right items, not pastiches.

I'm in Ireland and lately I find that more and more products in Lidl are cheaper or two/three for a particular price if you have Lidl Plus, and you really have to read the sticker on the shelf closely or you get caught out at the till.
I didn't mind when it was a just few products but now it feels like it's half the goods, and it's becoming a dose to shop there.
I know it's capitalism but it feels wrong for a discount supermarket to be forcing the app on their customers.
I know I could just give in and get the app or go to Aldi up the road 😅 so I'm lucky I have that choice but just wondered what you all think of Lidl Plus?

I don't have this with my Lidl Plus. I love it - it's my favourite loyalty scheme followed by Boots.

I had one of the Nutcracker peppermint candles last year, I really liked it! Will have to see if I can get another one this year 😁

Finally tried the frickles. It’s an absolute no from me. I say this as a pickle lover, they smell and taste vile. 🤢

Aw pleased for you. I bet your heart rate was the through the roof 😂 When they had the Bluey stuff last year I was the same, running round like a crazy woman! I’m so glad they’ve put a limit on 2 per person, people who bulk buy items like this to sell on for profit are scum bags !!

My bestie and I broke off from our big holiday group recently to go to the supermarket. We spent hours in there oohing and aahing over all the lovely produce.

I will have to take a plastic glass with me and just buy one bottle and take it outside to taste it to see if it is the one I like :D I have to go on the bus hence the trolley.

I find Lidl plus inenvasive for the most part, especially compared to Asda and Tesco, it also gives free bakery items so its fine by me, I can see it becoming a problem very quickly though

I decided I needed a treat today and bought myself the beauty advent calendar from Aldi ☺ Very much looking forward to opening it in December (it's only 12 days so I think I will do alternate days from Dec 1st!)

Went to Aldi today - normally just have Lidl near me at home so this was exciting.

Picked up some Sauce Shop Chipotle and Lime Aioli (Great Taste Awards one gold star) and omg it's delicious.

Also got a couple of loaded dips because everyone goes on about them and NOW I GET IT. No wonder the Americans are all so fat - if I had access to these dips regularly I would not be fitting in my plane seat to Greece this summer.

If it hadn't been for the customer sneezing practically into my mouth as we queued at the till, I'd have rated my Aldi experience 10/10.

i know its not an aldi/lidl thing but the new "protein" babybels are 5.2g protein each but normal babybel lights are 5g protein each, and normal babybels are 4.4 g protein each. The protein ones are packaged to seem like there is 22g of protein per one but its the whole pack! Have to be so careful with protein things dont you x
