I can highly recommend the pickled pink onions in a jar from Aldi , they are delicious.
I have also been influenced by you lot and bought the frozen ready meals in a bag, I had the chorizo pasta one earlier and it was lovely .

The Bilash curries are back. My local was piled high with all the mains and sides this morning.
Got 2 mains and two sides, for under a tenner!
They’re only back for a week though😞

I got some of the Aldi shortbread in the tin with the robin on. It was meant to be a Christmas gift for Mr Pecans parents but we accidentally opened it and ate it. It’s so good 🤤 Had to buy another tin and it’s taking all my willpower not to open that one!
Ooh, I feel so much better to know I'm not the only one! 🤭😋🐽

M&S mince is not vacuum packed. I'm not convinced it made any difference, I recycle the plastic trays, I'm never sure what to do with the vacuum packaging so it goes in the bin. All very performative, particularly when there are vast swathes of ready meals and convenience foods being sold.
The best way to reduce packaging is to encourage people to cook from scratch but that isn't going to happen because the money is in the UPF.
Exactly. A plastic tray I would rinse out for the kerbside recycling. I save all my soft plastics (biscuit wrappers, bread bags etc) and take them to Sainsbury's every so often to recycle (my M&S used to do this too but I haven't seen the box in store for a while), but I absolutely would not go to the effort to clean a vacuum pack that had raw meat in it, so it would be straight to landfill.

What’s happened to the Lidl’s Dentalux toothpaste? It used to be so nice, with its fancy gold highlights on the tube and many dental promises (take that, Colgate!) But now the gold has gone 😭 it’s sort of cheaper-looking with red flashes on the tube, and it’s all a bit runny and meh.

Is there a way out of Lidl when you don't buy anything? I went in yesterday, they didn't have what I wanted so I tried to go through an empty checkout - no luck - gate wasn't for budging. The 2 checkouts in operation were in full flow with long queues and I didn't fancy trying to squeeze past all those trolleys, so I went back to the entrance, waited for someone to enter, and walked out that way ... and the alarms went off. o_O
This is my stress with my local Lidl too, we don’t have self service so can’t pass through there so just have to ask people in the queue if they’ll let me squeeze past which is enough to put me off going tbh 😂

I got a box of Fox's biscuits for £3.99 in Aldi today! They were £5 in Poundland.
They also had the Wonderspray back in and that hair oil I like for £3.99 in pretty packaging.
I went a bit beserk in there 🤭

Got this from Aldi yesterday thinking that it would be nice but it was so spicy that resulted in me not being able to finish it. I mean it says in a lightly spiced sauce yet one things for sure that sauce was not lightly spiced as it made my nose run and made my mouth feel like it was on fire.

I’m gluten free so can’t have bugger all of the free bakery items but my husband is loving the donuts and brownies 🐷😝
Wish they would do a free random of anything in the store product just to mix it up
Or if you didn’t win every time but a chance for an Organic Prosecco and Lentil Chips 🥰 then that would be good !

Has anyone got their eye on the wooden toy sale?
I’ve just been. I only wanted the dog and the baby and pram and luckily managed all 3. People had trolleys piled high with things, spending hundreds of pounds! Some were saying they’re sorted now for christmas completely. Surely kids don’t want just wooden toys at christmas 😬

I very rarely buy take away or shop curry but tried the Goan Prawn Curry which went on sale in Aldi today for their curry week. I hope they make it a regular item as it was lovely, lots of large prawns in a creamy coconut sauce. Quite hot. Also bought the lamb one and a chicken tikka masala for later in the week - they have a weeks date on them.

I got a free Lidl brownie - have bought them before for my children but always strongly resisted. The children are away this week though so obviously I was forced to eat it - omfg it was incredible.

So fudgy and delicious.

And I make my own the whole time so consider myself quite a brownie specialist.

I've just been trawling through my Tattle bookmarks for things previously recommended, so I have a few more ideas now. I'll go check out if they're still available - soup, shortbread, stollen, panetonne, nuts, After 8 own brand and chocolate bars. Plus the Merry Berry Jam from M and S which was raved about.
Regarding the moaners etc I'll just say you're trying it for the price of a raffle ticket if you win so quit moaning!
Start as I mean to go on as I'll probably be doing it every year now. 🙄
