I'm praying that pen farthing and all the cats, dogs and donkey are safe. Apparently 14 million Afghan people are expected to b facing starvation this year, if they don't get them out then they will be eaten! 😡😾
They'll get them out I'm sure. The whole thing for animals and all the people of course is an absolute bleeping disgrace. We should have very little to do with the USA in the future. They have caused all this utter mayhem and the whole thing had duck all to do with us in the U.K.

From what I'm seeing and reading our government is away to get alot of abuse and to be honest they deserve it. They knew this was going to happen and 2 of them went on holiday and we are now like this
I’m not defending the gov, things have gone bits up massively worldwide. But the truth is, no matter what arrangements were out in place, the world put their trust in the taliban to keep to their deal if this bomb was them. And if it was isos, we watched one group too well and not the others. they could have flown out half the county between all the nations with planes stacked like a morrisons lorry, but ultimately these groups were free to revoke this deal anytime they wanted and anyone with half a brain knew it would happen. That’s the issue, not the speed.
the signs were very clear it was a mistake when Russia started removing people and they claim to be allies!

The west always leaves destruction and pain behind wherever they go. Britain, USA, Western Europe. We aren't the policemen of the world, we should have stayed well away. This is the consequence empire building. Afghanistan has long been an incredibly difficult place penetrate. The west never learn.
And it is not only a huge human catastrophe but will also end up as a breeding ground for ISIS, I saw that experts are predicting a resurgance of terrorist attacks in the west

Former Marine says he was caught up in attack

Pen Farthing, who has been trying to get his animal shelter staff and pets out of Afghanistan, has said he was near the airport at the time of the explosion.

"We're fine but everything is chaos here at the moment," he said.

"All of a sudden we heard gunshots and our vehicle was targeted, had our driver not turned around he would have been shot in the head by a man with an AK-47.

"We've been in the airport, and back out of the airport; the whole thing's a mess. There's not much more I can say at the moment, I need to make sure the animals and everyone is safe."

The former Marine, who now runs animal shelter Nowzad in Kabul, has been involved in a tussle with Defence Secretary Ben Wallace over securing his exit from Afghanistan.

Thing is, that even if the security forces predicted an attack from ISIS-K (and it appears to be them as Taliban forces were also affected) there’s not a whole lot that can be done other than telling people to get away

They can’t exactly send troops or drones out to attack them and potentially start another war when it’s been agreed that they must be out of the country and the Taliban isn’t exactly going to allow them to start a whole mess either

ISIS-K appears to disagree with the Taliban anyway, it’s really going to be more of their fight for the time being

Can't argue with that but don't forget to pile a truck load of blame at Tony Blair's government's door too though!

And this guy of course.

Whilst I agree with what you say about the gov, it’s not just about pen all this. Can we just remember that there are thousands of others who aren’t so lucky as to be able to get a private plane and have a platform to be rescued. There are babies being out on flights alone right now. He did have a choice to be fair (let’s all agree to disagree) but there are people who have worked as translators etc who didn’t have a choice and certainly won’t now. He will probably be lucky too to get away as he’s way too well known now, if the taliban go for him, they have set a target. And even if we got him through, what about these people? I know he offered space on his flights etc but the more fuss he has made about things the more he’s taken time away from lots of other people.

True. But it’s not about the prediction to me, it’s about using the knowledge we have and have gleaned even over the past week to know that they will fight dirty and there never should have been trust in this ‘agreement’ gentlemans agreements only stand when both sides agree too it

I know he’s funded it all, but he was wanting support with the taliban etc, and the gov also have work with every other nation to agree ground clearance, time to load the animals etc. I do agree when Ben Wallace basically said, no matter what, people have to come first. And after the ordeal these poor animals have had to get here, is it worth risking all those people for maybe half to survive and then be traumatised.

exactly, I don't think anyone believed they would be anything but as aggressive (possibly more so from the influence of how even worse ISIS were) but they just wanted to leave and so accepted their lies.
I really wonder what is going to happen to these babies leaving by themselves

The West never had an agreement with ISIS-K from what I understand. Taliban also probably never did seeing as ISIS-K thinks they’re not being strict enough

Taliban isn’t exactly to blame for this either. They probably don’t have the power or ability to be charging in after ISIS-K right now, and they won’t buddy up with America even if given the opportunity as that would look like a failure on their behalf

This is a situation where people knew it would probably happen and couldn’t do anything for complicated reasons

Wallace is a twit - Pen being stuck there is HIS FAULT because he stopped them leaving first time around :(
Can I suggest you Google him then fill his parliamentry inbox and his FB page with your feelings? I have and it ain't pretty :(

Why are they call isi-k and not isil now?
They are a new branch - even the Taliban don't like them and in fact a couple of the dead were taliban men so they're not going to be impressed by this act of terrorism

I am so confused now - i don't get why the taliban don't like them? they are bascially the same as far as I see? even more worrying now if the whole region turns into a civil war between these factions

I don't think anybody knows what the hell is going on there any more; They're all barking mad - all of them.

I think the taliban lot are trying to make themselves out as a proper govt, the face of the new Afghanistan rather than terrorists they used to be, so this new lot muscling in to commit atrocities is not going to be accepted readily by them.
