The Nationwide poetry adverts have always annoyed me. Maybe I'm not cultured enough to appreciate them.
Not just you. It's such a try-hard trope. I hate any ad that goes out of its way to be heartwarming.

I really cannot abide that Lloyds Bank one with the horse galloping through various scenarios, not because its just so darned PC it hurts but that woman really cannot sing the theme tune at all!
You can almost hear her forcing out "We've only just begun" whereas for Karen Carpenter it was effortless. Lloyds have ruined a lovely song!
Oh and whilst I am on a whinge-a-thon theres Step One's litany of terrible pants adverts shipped in weekly direct from Australia. Dear God they are grim!

I really dislike the Rightmove advert about renting! It depicts this fantasy world where renting for young people is a magical experience of “collecting keys” and finding the perfect place “for now” - it just seems so far removed from reality and out of touch in the current climate
