There is an atrocious perfume advert on All 4 at the moment which uses a downright offensive cover of Depeche Mode's Enjoy the Silence sung by some wailing banshee with the most generic-sounding EDM backing music. I have taken to muting it whenever it comes on as with the Nationwide spoken poetry adverts. Just shit.
Oh that advert brings me to rage. I love the original. They do it all the time. Electric Dreams being another. Just stop it 🤢

I work for Asda and that advert is the talk of the office, everyone hates it! Thought it was a piss take.
I looked it up earlier as I thought the guy in it was an actor that was in Benidorm TV programme but turns out it is an unknown family with 3 kids, wonder if they are embarrassed or over the moon about it.

Oh I loathe that Ikea advert with the teddy bears acting as bouncers - the theme song is diabolical, it makes my ears bleed :(

I don't know if I hate this advert as it is quite amusing and makes a good point, but I'm fed up with animals being used so often:

ah but it is CGI so not really using the animals as such. The ones I loathe are the insurance ads with the little sausage dog :(

The manipulative government advert with actors looking into the camera lens saying "look into their eyes and tell them you're doing everything you can to stop covid" makes me sick.

How about look into the eyes of all the late-diagnosed cancer sufferers, and other people who will die because of the government's handling of the crisis. Look into the eyes of the families of the people who have killed themselves. Look into the eyes of the people who's businesses have been ruined. Look into the eyes of the children whose education you are saying doesn't matter.
You couldn't of said it better!!

Angela Scanlon and her Olay advert, she’s trying to be relatable, but is coming across as really patronising and fake. And the advert for Zoeys extraordinary playlist, I did watch the first series but they’ve committed overkill with the advert for the second series.

Totally agree. And weirdly I still find myself humming advert tunes from the 80s/90s.
Such as ‘I hope it’s chips’ or ‘if you like a lotta chocolate on your biscuit join our club’ and even ‘trioooooo. Triiiioooo’. I can’t think of any adverts today that stick in my memory or make me sing the jingle
‘Now we’re cooking with gas’ is also still used frequently. Adverts are rubbish these days

I initially thought it was a poor attempt at a mockumentary, but now I'm not so sure.

As heartless as it may seem if somebody I knew had created that advert, and asked for constructive feedback, I'd be telling them it was utter shit.

I mute it, along with other ones I find annoying or too heartbreaking to watch. I'm sure adverts were better when I was a kid (which makes me sound and feel old).

Again the godawful Halifax ad showing the people gathering on the bench. The most annoying part for me though is not the bad Oasis cover ... it's where are you going to find a bench in a busy town centre that has not had dividers added or been made impossible to sit on so that homeless people can't sleep there?
And I know the town they filmed that in.

That greengrocer or whatever it is next to Halifax, actually a pawnbrokers or something like that.

The town, not a super cute thriving high street community. Actually a deprived town with lots of closed shops and desperately hoping a train factory will help revive it.

Goole is the town.

Vinted! Not sure if it’s just me and they know I have lots of old clothes that need selling but I’m bombarded with Vinted adverts 🤣

I HATE the Bookmakers ads currently running - especially the fact that they feature celebrities. The companies try to hide the fact that they are advertising their business, sanitising this fact by pretending its an item offering advice to help people avoid addiction.

The one a few months back where she read out tweets that were bad mouthing her, I was approached via Twitter from an ad agency because they wanted to use one of my tweets. I did not know what it was for, just that it was a major ad campaign. I asked if there was any payment, they said no, so I said no! When the ad appeared, the Penny dropped!

I came on here to say the yodelling Domino’s pizza one, Lloyds Bank with Carpenters soundtrack, the one for a holiday company with Jess Glynn singing.
Really!!! What was the tweet, if you don't mind me asking? Please say it was something like ''cut that bloody fringe, we can't see your flippin eyes!!!''

This isn’t about specific ads but just generally speaking: I hate when American actors or voiceovers use british words like “xxx pounds” or “xxxxx.co.uk” it just doesn’t sound right to me. Get a british voiceover artist!

and gambling adverts like bet 365 and sum bingo and stuff: “when the fun stops stop” in my eyes that’s not good enough. That’s not gonna deter some desperate poor sod who is up to their eyebaalls in debt and convinced that time time will be the time they strike lucky! I don’t think they should be advertised at all. Same with bright house andpayday loan companies etc.
