Yet another time Tattlers have been vindicated! It very quickly and very obviously became pretty dodgy but people were angry that we were talking about it.

Should have been left as a 2 minute good news story at the end of the news one day.

I expect the price of sir captain tom bikinis to plummet

Wow this story has almost everything wrong with britain in one family. Well-off tories with a massive house who still think they somehow deserve a bit more for doing feck-all, but would probably consider people on benefits scroungers. Middle aged people who think because they’re related to someone who was involved in WW2 80 years ago they somehow fought in the war themselves and deserve honour and special treatment. Putting service workers lives at risk in a poor nation like Barbados cos you’re special and deserve a lovely holiday when the rest of the country is trying to stay home and safe. And the banal inspiring quotes, I’m so sick of reading ‘tomorrow will be a good day’, could anything be more bland? I bet he said it once or twice, just cos someone’s 100 doesn’t mean they’re full of wisdom or even a decent person. If we could get rid of all people like Hannah this country would be a better place. Glad I found these threads, considering there was a time someone was literally threatened with prison for a nasty tweet about CT. I know lockdown drove us all mad but glad there’s some perspective out there now

I saw this Tweet and it sums up my feelings on the situation.

Everyone is making sacrifices. We’re all being told to stay home and save lives. So many people have died from covid, who won’t get to tick off their bucket list items.

It was an incredibly selfish thing to do.

I never understood the hype about all this. It should have at most made the national papers for a day or two, but he's been blown up into a godlike national hero. Knighthood was OTT. Sure he fought in the war but so did plenty of others.

Also read an extract from his book in Daily Mail and it seemed very disrespectful to talk about the breakdown of his first marriage due to lack of sex, regardless of whether his first wife is alive (dunno if she is).

Reading back through the previous thread and about the daughters PR activities it makes much more sense to me. I hope some journalist does a decent interrogation of Hannah in a few years and exposes the exploitation of this case

My grandmother said to never speak ill of the dead, but then again she didn’t encourage me or the rest of our family to grift the rest of the world to the tune of millions.

Hannah is despicable but I refuse to believe that her father was the twinkly eyed old giffer that she would have you believe. He served in the army when it was compulsory and left like a rat up a drainpipe as soon as he could in 1945. He then went on to walk a couple of laps of his families grade 2 listed mansion for which he was happy to accept a knighthood for!

Nah, that grifting started from the top down and tomorrow will only be a better day if that family have to sell that house to pay for their flowery smock and beige chino addiction!

He did amazing raising all that money for charity but in what world is it OK for a high risk 100 year old man during a pandemic to go abroad and why isn't anyone calling him out on it......

His version of that song is probably the worst I’ve ever heard. I even said that to my mum at the time and she had a go at me.

Love it how the mail has said that tattle is harassing and stalking all the public figures for commenting on the stuff they post publicly. Meanwhile the mail sends drones over people's homes to record them 😆.

I didn’t realise there was a thread before and I’ve spent all this time thinking I was the only one who thought something wasn’t right about all this! I too have a bad feeling about his daughter and I think she really let him down taking him to Barbados - I appreciate it was a free trip of a lifetime and that he had all his faculties but I would be doing everything I could to stop a loved one fly across the world right now, not join him.

Im sorry he has passed and I hope he rests in peace, but so many people of all ages have passed in the last year and I would say a high percentage of those did not have their family called in by the hospital and sadly died alone. That will be the hardest legacy of all this for a lot of families. I think they were worried what the daughter would say in a “statement” if they didn’t allow the family in.

I’m giving GMB a wide berth today as Piers Morgan (what a coup that was getting Sir Tom on Life Stories...) went on a massive rant yesterday about Twitter trolls who questioned why he had gone to Barbados, saying they were perfectly entitled to go because it didn’t break any Government rules...imagine if it was Megan Markle or The Beckhams who had gone, we would never have heard the end of it

Attention and publicity I would say - edit to say, apparently Sir Tom and Michael Ball recorded a song together - I managed to miss that too - so I suppose Piers Morgan and Michael may have been his friends. Mrs Skeptismo here is still wondering if she called all his friends or just the high profile ones...
I wonder if the other sister (the one who DIDN’T take him to Barbados) or see him in person in his final days, is at all resentful? I’m very sad that he died but couldn't believe it when I heard he’d travelled there for a holiday, bucket list or not, and surely it was the reason he caught pneumonia and the Covid. Why not just stay safe at home?

I'm only on page 32 but what about the 100 year old Sikh man who did 100 laps of the garden? He raised significantly less because it was at the same time as good old Treasure Trove Tom but why did he not get a Knighthood? He did the same thing? He just didn't need the media crawling all over him for it? Also FUCKING STINKS

One Hundred Thousand Transferred to My Account by Hannah.
Oo is anyone else looking forward to the memes? 😳

Never liked the woman from day 1.
If I had put my dad in harms way like she did during a pandemic, and then he subsequently died, I‘d never have forgiven myself. Not Hannah though, she uses it for more publicity.
They were given hospital visiting privileges that thousands of others weren’t afforded.
Hang your head in shame Hannah. You have destroyed your father’s legacy,
I hope we never see your face again except when you’re pictured attending court.

'My father Captain Sir Tom Moore always dreamed of a spa and pool at home!'
It's what he would've wanted
100 laps of the pool, all for the NHS
Followed by 100 visits to the steam room
And 100 relaxing minutes on the sun lounger
100 sips of whiskey in his cocktail
All for the NHS.
