The writers keep blowing opportunities for decent storylines for these characters at this stage of their lives.

Charlotte helping Lily navigate being an adoptee in a white jewish family and her feeling pressure (from herself)to be "perfect" at everything to be accepted in the family.

Miranda feeling unsure of herself being a career woman facing retirement and not knowing who she is without work, so copes by drinking and the impact on her family.

Carrie dealing with grief and anger as the future she thought she had with Big is now gone, how she copes as a widow and older woman feeling invisible and undesirable.

The three women could navigate this through friendship and humour, not always perfectly but with honesty and warmth.

But instead we get fingerbanging, mad outfits and bad comedy.

Is she a lesbian though if she's doing it with a non-binary person? I'm so confused, bear with me, I'm in my 40's, practically one foot in the grave
Che is a biological female (whether she wants to be or not), so yes, they're having lesbian sex, although I don't think that automatically means that Miranda is a lesbian, she's just bored of Steve. However, 'lesbian' is now a dirty word that means 'transphobe' because actual lesbians don't want to have sex with transwomen (who have penises). We're all supposed to be 'queer' now.

Source: am lesbian (not queer) who was called a transphobe for saying that women don't have penises. My girlfriend is as butch a lesbian as you can imagine, but she's 100% female in every way and is happy to identify as such. She doesn't want to be a man or 'non-binary' and she couldn't care less about gender identity woo-woo. She knows who she is and that's all that matters.

You seem just as self important as Che herself! We don’t know Seema or LTW or Naya background or even Samantha or Miranda’s to that extent either.

Their characters are underdeveloped in the same way! They’ve just been on screen that but longer and presented in a “normal way” We don’t know their ethnic history (we know Che’s Irish, yes but so what?!) but it’s not a problem. We know quite a bit about Che actually, she likes animals (a lot), she was married, she had quite a traditional upbringing etc, racy sex life etc. I don’t know this about Miranda for example - she’s a feisty lawyer who liked ugly men that was literally the depth of her character. Carrie’s lackey. Her mother died during one ep. That’s it! Same as Che if not less and Miranda is a central and main character. By your logic we should know her shoe size, favourite food, full upbringing & the street she grew up on owing to her decidedly feisty nature.

Looking past Che’s binary status ( this IS annoying but that’s a whole other conversation). The real issue is Che being front and centre a lot of the time and people not thinking her character and the actress isn’t worthy of it when in reality she’s just as good/annoying as all the others. She’s alot less irritating than homeboy faux homely big kid Aiden? What was his character development? He made things out of wood, liked countryside cabins and being cheated on?

Please! You’re seeing what you want to see. There’s nothing wrong with her character & it’s as developed or under developed as most of the other cast.
umm… Sara Ramirez is that you? 😂

Carrie not recording an advert about vaginal dryness is the WORST story line ever
Yeah, I mean nothing will top that poached egg tale of woe she wove for her hunky lovaaaaaaahhhhh. I wonder when the movie rights are available?

It was just utter, utter dross. More thoughts this morning, based only on watching up to the first ad break (the most excited I've ever been to see adverts)
  • SJP has faffed with her face and it's affecting her ability to speak and act.
  • Why was she acting so awkward in the scene where Charlotte came to the door? Has she never had a visitor before?
  • When exactly did Kristen Davis stop being able to act? Was it when she had her face replaced?
  • What the fuck was up with LBW, or LTW or Idobtgiveafuckwhathernameis bossing her fam around...ordering BREATH to her clearly terrified sons as her freaky daughter tried to recite what I can only assume was some satanic chanting. Then being super ball bustery with her douche of a husband, Mr Fat Chequebook. WE GET IT SHE'S ORGANISED AND ON TOP OF EVERYTHING AND CLEARLY A FUCKING PHSYCO
  • The sight of Fauxranda's pale, soggy. naked body slithering out of that isolation chamber will haunt me till my death. They missed a trick there - next time just lock the bastard lid and save us the pain of this imposter and her non binary diva
  • Why does CN act all of Fauxranda's orgasms as though she's having an epileptic fit??
WFH this morning so I will attempt a bit more, at least I can console myself that I'm being paid to watch it haha

I also forgot to add in Ché’s behaviour is not normal. She’s also a shitty person. Great you are non binary but you’re still a fucking asshole who has sex with women you know are married and encouraging drug use.

She showed up to her recovering co-workers flat with tequila and had sex with her co-workers friend in the kitchen.

She’s enabling adultery and alcoholism, it’s very evident even from an outsiders perspective that Miranda’s drinking is not right.

Also, it’s creepy. Miranda was piss drunk and stoned, and she comes on to Miranda and then proceeds to cover her mouth whilst fingering her. That’s creepy and if it was a man doing it, it would be a massive issue from the get go.

I don't know if it's rose tinted glasses or what, but didn't each episode of SATC have a bit more substance. Yes it was about sex and relationship stuff but I don't recall a string of Uber short scenes about fuck all dotted here and there with longer scenes about utter tripe. The losing phone scene has to be one of the shittest ever together with the restaurant scene verweb Charlotte, LTW and Anthony where no one seemed to be hearing each other.

Anthony best bit about it so far.

also, I swear the 'ovens can be used for more than storage?'line was already used in SATC.When Aidan cooked?
One thing I loved about lots of SATC episodes often is that they often had threads running through them like 'The Catch' - Samantha's bracelet with the broken catch and Carrie trapezing which were all metaphors for the hope Charlotte had about her wedding and if Harry would catch her (at their wedding and in life)

or One where it was Brady's birthday and where Steve tells Miranda 'come on, Miranda you're the one' and Carrie goes for dinner with Petrovsky at 1am (and Samantha finds one grey pube and creates Bozo the Bush!)

The writing was GOOD and this is horsehit!

The best, and only possible, ending for this shit show would have been for Big’s brother to announce that Big had a secret child whose name was Che Diaz 😂

Really hated that scene where Miranda's boss came back from maternity after five weeks. And Miranda was all "my 12 weeks leave felt like a hundred years." Like maternity leave is some enforced punishment not a health necessity 🙄😤

Che deciding to dump Miranda, after listening to Carrie read from her book, is Big's revenge from beyond the grave after Miranda told him not to get married in the first SATC film and he ended up getting thwacked by Carrie's bouquet for standing her up. Revenge is a dish best served dead (and from Whole Foods)

Chriiist I quickly scanned your post and thought you'd said you hoped they'd make another colonoscopy appointment so you could watch 🤢
(Still a better storyline than anything involving Che)
I would watch Harry's colonoscopy over Che Fucking Diaz anyday

Seema should help Miranda and Steve sell their brownstone as part of divorce proceedings - a tiny spark between Seema and Steve. They start dating, she brings him out of his shell. She bags them an amazing home whilst Miranda temporarily moves in with Carrie, who has banned Che from the property, but Che keeps forgetting due to the weed. Brady humps the couch, Carrie gets mad and throws Big's ashes at him.

Anyone find this scene a bit unsettling?
I felt hopeless for Charlotte and Harry

What's being done to children, and to young 'gender non-conforming' women in particular, is horrific – the dismantling of biological reality in favour of 'gender identity', the erasure of lesbians (we're all 'queer' now), the total disregard for parental rights...we are in the middle of a dangerously over-correcting moral panic, and so many people don't even know about it until they start getting abused for saying something awful like 'only women have periods'. The people and institutions pushing gender ideology/queer theory are going to have a LOT to answer for one day.

BTW, if the show is meant to be so woke now, why are they taking the mick out of Steve's disability and trying to validate his deafness being unattractive to Miranda so she can have guilt free fingerbangs?
