Why wasn’t Steve at the last supper? Why didn’t she mention the phone call from Samantha to the other girls? Why did she let the kitten run around the apartment with all those heels around and who’s looking after it while she’s in Greece?! 😂

Can’t they just TRY to bin all other characters apart from the main three? Don’t see how they can mess that up 😂
I suggest that for Season 3, the TWs, Nya, Seema and Che all inexplicably move to Virginia with Aidan. It can be where crappy characters go to die live on a farm.

I can't understand how Miranda has gone from mocking Samantha when she went through her 'lesbian' stage to now realising these been one herself all along!

Where is the time scale too - the book took Carrie 12 months to write, but Miranda was waiting on a text from Che for 3 months after messaging her in the week before's episode whilst folding clothes, but Carries date and Miranda bumping into Che all happened at the same charity event - none of it make sense unless it's morphed into Quantum Leap and they can time travel too. If they can, maybe Charlotte will remember to cancel her appointment at the filler clinic like she did with Harry's prostrate one.
Is she a lesbian though if she's doing it with a non-binary person? I'm so confused, bear with me, I'm in my 40's, practically one foot in the grave

Yes! Seema and Nya are 2 intelligent women with successful careers. All that really matters to them both deep down though is having a man 🙄
It annoyed me SO much that Nya wasn't bothered by her amazing new position because she didn't have a man to share it with. Then it came across like her real success was hooking up with the hot chef.

Someone said in the last thread that they wouldn't be surprised if Aidan was the ghost of Big trying to find out who Carrie loved best or something to that effect.

The thing is - Big was never threatened by Aidan - he always knew he could have Carrie at the click of his fingers. He never really gave a shit about her. He was with her when it was convenient for him. He only ended up with her to wrap the series up in a neat bow - Carrie and Big; Charlotte and Harry; Miranda and Steve; Samantha and Smith. The series ended when all the women got men. That always irritated me.
---
I was relieved when they rectified it in the first movie - Samantha choose herself. Miranda should have too.
Tbh I said that as a joke. But YES, there is no reason that everyone should get a man Oprah style - you get a man, and you get a man, everybody gets a man! It feels like history repeating with Aidan - they are only together to wrap up the series so that Carrie isn't single. You know, so the fuck what if Carrie is single? I want to see Carrie and Seema living their best 50+ single lives in the Hamptons actually, not sticking them with uninspired love interests because the writers still mistakenly seen to think that the worst thing a woman can be is single.

Hats off to Cynthia for her directing. The last two episode had the flow and were most like old SATC for me, some really wonderful stylistic shots.

I don’t love Mirandas journey but Cynthia’s is absolutely in directing from now on.

Yeah the Che fat thing did feel like that. It sounded like she was taking the piss rather than being authentic and then being fine about it after one compliment from Miranda as if works like that 🙄
I’d almost forgotten Che was non binary but luckily we were reminded as it was the first line out of her mouth. If they want to make Che more relatable they should stop making her Twitter bio (‘non binary, half Mexican half Irish’) her entire personality. Surely we can get through at least one episode without anyone mentioning those things?

Also who TF is phoning Carrie for dating advice on her podcast? She’s been off the market for 20 years and the whole scene has changed in the intervening years. Dating apps, social media and the rise of internet porn are a whole different ballgame.

The comments saying it’s like they’re paying penance is perfect. The thing is they’re not even doing these side character’s stories justice, the comments on all the SATC socials are SO anti Che and “woke” so it’s not as if they’re educating that older millennial / gen x audience or engaging them in these identities’ issues, if anything they’re actively alienating them and you see it on this thread too! It makes you wonder who it’s for? Cos the woke NB Insta huns certainly won’t care for the show?!
I've been wondering this too, and I'm watching their 'roundtable' and it's telling that Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis were taken on as executive producers. Too many cooks springs to mind. It's now reported in the press that Cynthia refused to take on the role again unless there was more diversity in the show - but it could have been done in a way that we didn't have to see Miranda Hobbes' original character destroyed to make way for Cynthia's life story. She refers to the old series being 'tone-deaf' in parts, but what about Charlotte on a frantic search-for-a-black-friend for her dinner party? Really...?

I think it's a cash-grab for the writers and producers and an ego stroking for the cast.

New thread!

Brief Recap - mostly we all find AJLT pretty tedious to the point that no one felt too inclined to make a new thread.

I created one, selfishly, so that I could continue to rant in real time as I rewatched the original SATC from the beginning.

Carrie is a dick. That’s all.

Edit - also I’ve never created a thread before and I forgot to add a number #9 to it and don’t know how now.
