I have to say that as much as Miranda has got on my tits lately, she was clearly visibly upset and uncomfortable when she left mexican-Irish-dickheads show. I found it totally disrespectful that as a supposedly loyal friend, Carrie would not go after her to make sure she was okay.

Say what you want about Miranda but throughout the SATC franchise she was always such a good friend to everyone in the group, particularly Carrie.

Who remembers when Miranda followed Charlotte all the way home when Charlotte got bad news regarding her fertility? That's a true friend.

Would now be a good time to mention I had to watch the Miranda/Che scene with my Mum, with her asking "What's she [Che] doing to her??" during it 🙈😫🤣

I swear this “progressive” show is actually set in the 50s

- People smoke
- Technology is virtually non-existent
- It’s acceptable to make comments about skin colour
- Black people are treated like aliens
- Moms teach daughters how to deal with their period
- A teenage girl cutting her hair to collar length and wearing trousers is unusual
- Gay men are hyper camp, hyper bitchy and wear ridiculous romper suits for comedy effect

Progressive is so regressive and they just can’t see it.

How is that masturbation scene with Brady at the door in any way acceptable or appropriate? I have a young son and I find the way Brady is treated really upsetting. Would it have been ok if a man was jerking off with his 17 year old daughter outside? The sexualisation of this child on this show is absolutely disgusting.

Ah I don't know. I think a lot of you are massively not getting it, whilst sounding pretty preachy/Karen-ey

I've really enjoyed the new series so far. As a little gay kid growing up in the 90's/00's - I was fascinated with this program, along with millions of others. Loved the first movie, the second was a bit cringe - but like all franchises, it has its moments.
I was nervous when I heard about the new series, especially taking into account the fact Samantha wasn't going to be a part of it.
However, I'm pleasantly surprised. It's tackled a load of current issues whilst keeping some humour. Death, alcoholism, struggles with sexual/gender identity, the fact we all have to be soooo overly cautious about how we address people - based on their skin colour, sexuality, gender pronouns - these are all really real and current issues so many face today.

I haven't read this whole thread however, I'm pretty disappointed at a good few posts around Miranda. To be honest? You all need to get a grip and try to look beyond your own mundane outlook on the world.
Growing up within the community over the last 20+ years - I have friends, family members even - that have similiar stories to Miranda. Some that have never even so much as thought about a member of the same sex in a sexual way until they were in their 40's, 50's, 60's. One of my best friends was married to a man for 15 years, met a woman in The George with me 5 year ago and is now happily married to her.
...and saying "Ew, Che - why? Why would Miranda choose Che? We might have to see her nude" - jaysus, fucking listen to yourselves. I can guarantee I wouldn't want to see any of your saggy tits either - however, usually I'd have more tact.

Moral of the story? Don't be a judgey prick. Take your rose coloured glasses off and get off your Karen perch and realise that everyone in the world is different. Not every person deals with or reacts to situations the way you would - and that's OK.
I know this is a website for debates and what not but fuccccck - thank christ I don't have to deal with some of you in real life!
This lesbian thinks you're a bit of a twat, but I'm sure you feel much better for getting that load of self-important bollocks off your chest. Now bore off and update your Twitter pronouns or something.

I don’t understand why they didn’t let Stanford die, this ‘Last Supper’ could then be a fitting tribute to him where the originals had a dinner in his memory. Samantha could then turn up at the door at the very end (rest of the cast don’t need to be there for that, you could cheat the angles and use stand-ins) and then you could have the voice over, ‘And just like that we talked about the years gone by, and those we loved and lost blah blah blah.’ Camera pans out the window to New York, fade to black, the series ends, and it never, ever, ever comes back, ever again.

I think Charlotte was the one most at ease with who she is, she was always clear she wanted to be married with children. That's the life she now has and seems grateful to be where she is in life.

She and Samantha, although polar opposites in many ways, were always the most supportive friends. Charlotte was there supporting Miranda when she thought she was getting a termination, even though Charlotte had struggled to be pregnant she still supported Miranda. When she found out Carrie was cheating on Aidan just before her own wedding, even though shocked still stood by her friend. When her marriage ended and she was in an uncertain period of her life, feeling she had no purpose and volunteering because she couldn't find paid gallery work she gave Carrie the deposit for her apartment. Carrie traveling across the city to shout at me to give her fifty grand would have gotten the business end of my boot not a cheque, especially not when she had a wardrobe containing forty grands worth of high heels.

There has always been a slightly sneering tone in the show towards Charlotte and Samantha, one "oversexed" and judged for it, the other "just" a wife and mother judged prim and undersexed/frigid uptight sexually. Those two women are the more interesting for me, neither one is apologetic about who they are. Miranda has the world's biggest chip on her shoulder and miserable even when she has exactly what she wants, Carrie is vain and selfish and I would say married Big for status.

Ah lads, I can't with this show anymore!

That should have been the end - no third series.

**Sigh** Ok here we go!

Samantha - We knew it was going to be an anticlimax so no surprises there. We hear in Season 1 that Carrie and Sam are no longer friends and something to the effect that after Carrie had no more PR work for Sam she ditched her. "Was I just and ATM to her??" Bullshit - that is so not Sam. Then Big dies and Sam does not make the trip from London to support her friend of 30 years. She sends flowers and we are expected to believe that - fine. Fast forward to this episode. Having never/hardly been mentioned Sam rings Carrie out of the blue and Carrie does not look surprised to see Samantha's name come up on her screen. (and just "Samantha" not "Samantha London" - we all know that if your friend has moved country you put their new number in like that because you still have the old number). What is Sam ringing for? She was flying from London to New York to say goodbye to an apartment and going back the next morning - fuck off!!! Fuck off all you stupid writers.

So Miranda and Charlotte told her about the dinner. Are we expected to believe that they are in touch with her? We've never heard a mention of that! Are they keeping the friendship from Carrie? If they are not in contact, why was this fucking dinner so important that they had to contact her to tell her about it. And what if Aidan had turned up for dinner - would there have been room for Sam? That dining room furniture I presume was rented along with the dishes, and everything for the table. How embarrassing would it have been for Sam to show up - Surprise! and then everyone looking awkwardly at each other because there is no room at the table. Would Sam have been sitting on the bed eating out of one of Carrie's shoe

Dinner Party Guests - I won't dwell on this but as we have all said that the biggest collection of nobodies ever. Surely in 35 years in New York Carrie could have got 15 intelligent and interesting women together.
Some guy she worked on a podcast with last season - why?
Nya - have they ever been in the same room together?
LWT - Carrie was invited to her dinner for some bizarre reason. She is Charlotte's friend from their kid's school. And why did Carrie get her invite when the husband forgot to send them?
Che?????
That guestlist was bullshit. It would have been a lovely way to bring back old characters and create nostalgia.

Aidan - Awh Adian. What the fuck have they done to Aidan? His teenage kid throws a strop and he falls apart. He effectively dumped Carrie needlessly. Fuck off Aidan. Where does a teenage kid get mushrooms? Are you for real? They probably grow on your farm. Why do you think 3 teenage kids want to hang out there all the time? They are off their heads all the time on the magic farm 😃Asking Carrie to wait 5 years? Are you gonna live like a monk for 5 years.... Fuck off!

Sex Montage - Did that episode really contain a sex montage? Why?

Charlotte and Miranda - great to see them getting back to who they are. I love Charlotte and Harry.

Seema - no way is she the new Sam the way she is fawning over that loser. Is she really going along with Carrie waiting for Aidan? We all know what Sam would have said about that!

And that brings me to Carrie! I hate her so much. She is a selfish, whiney bitch. So she chased Big for 6 years then was married to him for the bones of 20 years but somehow got over to him in a year. So much so that she could fall in love again and question if he was a mistake! Then she is prepared to wait 5 years for Aidan after a year together, if even. Please!

The writers, producers, and SJP should be ashamed of themselves with this ridiculous show. They have ruined what was something very special.

Rant over!

Love how Carrie offered to call an ambulance for a guy falling off his bike but it didn’t occur to her when Big was dying on the floor.

Also looks like they reshot the ashes scene entirely.

Same purse with a different outfit.

I will say I'm happy they wrote Noth out, the series would have been tainted otherwise. I don't think he's ever been a nice guy according to stories from ex's so better without him after his death.
Omg I guess this makes me an absolute dick but I’ll say it: I wish they hadn’t cut Big from AJLT. I feel totally robbed as a viewer of both this series and SATC, I want the story as it was intended, not some BS reshot version that makes about 50% sense and completely tramples on the Big/Carrie arc that has taken years to come to this point. Noth hasn’t even been charged and I am perfectly able to distinguish between him and a character he plays. I feel super cheated and just pissed off by the whole thing!

When Aidan just waltzes into the apartment after Carrie sold it for him, and then dumps her, the screech that came out of me was unholy. Why would you put your life on hold for five years for Aidan normalhands in his toy soldier jacket?

#TeamCathy

She played a blinder spiking Wyatt’s chicken pot pie with magic mushrooms and beer before helpfully informing Wyatt that his Dad needed the truck taking back to the farm.

Cathy ain’t soft, she knows Carrie is a bitch.

At home alone today so put on the first film as I cleaned* and it really drove home how they did Samantha dirty. She paid for collection and delivery of Carrie's stuff from Bigs, she organised everything when he flaked out of their wedding, got the other women flights to Mexico so Carrie wouldn't be alone on honeymoon and in return she's fat shamed. Imagine being an average person at home that feels a bit uncomfortable in their body, you sit down to watch a female centred film and they are fat shaming Kim Cattrall, who is a fucking smoke show! The way they confront her about how she didn't realise how big she was, references to her gut. What were they thinking in the writing room, it supports Cattrall's claims of how awful the work place was as far as I'm concerned.

* My cleaning technique is to plug in the hoover and then sit down. When someone visits I go "oh I was just about to hoover, will have to do it later so, cuppa?"

Is anyone also a bit grossed out that they make Miranda and Steve completely fine with their child banging the house down with his GF? What parents allow their 17 year old and his GF basically have sex day and night in their house, and then not even reprimand him for calling his mother a bitch to her face?

Also, if Brady was my son, his girlfriend wouldn’t even be allowed to be alone in a bedroom with him. Never mind stay in my home not paying bills or rent, eating all my food, making smart comments and making me feel like a stranger in my own home.

I know it’s not real but it annoys me so much.

Also the kid who plays Brady looks like Linguini from Ratatouille and somehow looks 13 and 33 at the same time.

The apparently missing scenes are so weird. Like others have said, there must have been a scene where Miranda, Steve and Brady all discuss what’s happened and their future.
Did they have to cut it out because it was originally filmed with the ghost of Big sitting in a corner, chuckling away to himself saying “abso-fucking-lately!”?

Something just occurred to me.

Samantha was going to do a round trip, London to New York, just to spend a few hours at a dinner party to say goodbye to A FLAT!

Samantha did not do a trip to say goodbye to Big, A PERSON, who actually proper died.

Are we supposed to believe that shit!
