Has a maybe pretty unhealthy relationship with her housemate, Blakeney who seems lovely
Still very poor video ideas and video editing
Even when she was in Exeter kinda play acted a Victorian child with purchasing stuff from an antique shop, like a tiny toothbrush jar thing and postcards , and reading kids books
Had a very interesting visit from her YouTuber friend Molly and they had a disgusting looking meal of pikelets and peas or should we say picolays and building a den with a list of rules that included “no adults allowed” when they are women, in their 20s

I cannot STAND people who say they wish they’d been born in x era- as a gay, mentally ill woman I would 1000% be dead, whoreing myself out or in an insane asylum by now if I was born in the past. Maybe not if it was the more recent past but still. People don’t realise how lucky they have it.

maybe I'm too much of a cynic towards ruby but her story asking for vegan places to eat in paris just screams "how can I nonchalantly drop that I'm going to paris?"

Why can’t she just say ‘thanks, I didn’t know this’ instead of pretending she knows everything? I think the only time I’ve ever seen her admit to a mistake was on her recent video when she said she should’ve just re-recorded it.
Sorry but this is so funny 😂. If you knew that then why call it a symphony? People like this are so jarring, just say you got it wrong and move on. She needs to take herself a little less seriously, I make silly mistakes all the time and you just have to learn to accept it and have a laugh about it.

Ruby's mother is one of those women who used to read "Bridget Jones' diary" when it was serialised in "the Telegraph" back in the 90s. She decided there and then that being hapless would give her a quirk that would compensate for her wallpaper personality. She inflicted this sort of wrong brain slow think on her children - "wear a bonnet and go up a chimney, darling, that'll make you interesting."
Ruby’s mother is one of those people that buys those god-awful plaques in tat-shops that say things like ‘dull women have immaculate houses’, and who uses that as evidence that because the house is so messy, she must therefore be interesting.

I’m not trying to shame anyone here because I know there are genuine and often very sad reasons why a person’s living space might not be clean or tidy, but in this case I just think it’s laziness and cultivated incompetence. It just seems so sad (and disrespectful, somehow) that the family simply cba to look after their million-pound house, even down to not mopping up a flood and just hoping that it’ll ‘evaporate’. It also annoys me that when wealthy people live like this, it’s seen as charming and eccentric, and something to giggle and write a blog post about but if someone in a council house just left water pooling on the floor they’d be judged much more harshly. It does such a disservice to your kids too, to let them grow up not really knowing the basics of how to take care of themselves and their surroundings.

Wait let me get this straight - so Ruby thinks that people in her audience who have grandparents/great-grandparents/great-great-grandparents who survived the Holocaust would want to write a blurb about their life story on Ruby's notion page (!) so that other people can then go visit Ruby's notion page and get educated about the Holocaust??

I don't even know where to start with that.

Also, quote from said notion page: There's a heading called "Why We Need to Remember the Holocaust:" and under that heading it says that "The situation in China and the persecution of Uyghur Muslims remains a very real problem. We need to stand up against this" What the actual fuck?? Not that the Uyghur issue is not important, far from it! But that is not the reason why we remember the Holocaust??! We remember the Holocaust because it is an indiscribable atrocity that led to the deaths of millions upon millions of innocent people?? What the FUCK.

I'm not even convinced Ruby would be happy at Oxford if she got a place. Of course, she'd be thrilled initially, but she would still encounter all the problems she's had at Exeter - stress, disordered eating, socialising out of her comfort zone, homesickness, harmful perfectionism. It might be even worse at Oxford because of the tutorial system where you're grilled by academics who can see through waffle. Then there's the 'small fish in big tank' problem. I think Ruby would find it harder to be the best in her subject and the workload would probably be more intense. We've seen how Ruby responds more to praise and good grades than the actual course content, so there'd be less motivation to keep up if she stopped getting the positive feedback.

Her morning/daily routines/study with me’s are all literally:

• Wake up at stupid o’clock (say 6am)
• Brush teeth whilst reading because of course
• Walk around her mini mansion, into the kitchen,
pretend to like her dogs, eat some disgusting
overnight oats with some fruit (a small portion)
• Dress like a Victorian child.
• get STRAIGHT to work for the rest of the day.
• read a book during the day
• Flop about on an exercise mat outside for an hour
• question herself about how productive she’s been
or how tired she is
• Continue to do more work, or research relatively
pointless topics
• Maybe force herself through the forest wearing 20 unnecessary layers
• Continually record the fact she uses NOTION.
• Drink obsessive amounts of tea during the day aswell

In conclusion, take away studying from Ruby’s life and you have 0 personality, I think she studies so much to distract herself from this fact. She’s built this online persona where people very much validate it so she can’t drop it any time soon. I wonder what she’ll do after uni, I assume straight onto a Masters preferably at Oxford BECAUSE OF COURSE. I struggle to see Ruby as a person who’s genuinely content with who they are, lusting for their childhood and living an extremely, sheltered life.

I think if she struggles to become her dream job, an author (which I think she will, we’ve all seen Eramentha or whatever the fuck you call her to-do list, more like Ruby’s Autobiography) she’d probably go into teaching just to continually stay in a learning environment.

but also the word "debut" is making me nervous. i think it means she has a book deal that she isn't allowed to announce yet.

The character who says that in Norwegian Wood is a pretentious, obnoxious prick who cheats on his girlfriend lol surely Ruby understands that the quote is meant to make him come off like that? Like, you're meant to read that and think "wow, this guy is the definition of pretentious". Not to find it relatable lol

I think you guys are far too nice worrying about her future. She is completely privileged having several income streams backed up by the bank of mummy and daddy. I personally had to work during weekends at Uni so didn't have the choice to go back home even if I wanted to. She will be fine living in her bubble and is financially more secure than all the people contributing to this thread combined. She is being enabled to stay like a child and I don't care if she lives like this for the next 50 years.

Takeaways from Roobee’s Easter weekend content:

1) they’re a family of hoarders - she showed all the books that they were getting rid of from their loft and it was hundreds of what mostly looked like children’s books 😳

2) she’s broken out the watercolours again

I like how Ruby casually mentions that the family's spacious manor home has its own "LOYBREEEE".

But other people doing worse things in the world doesn't excuse Ruby being an irresponsible, law-breaking dipshit who lies about everything. There was a third option available to her: Not doing either of those things.

Bit like saying, "Okay, so she might've clubbed a seal to death, but BP did far worse with those oil spills, so who can blame her!"

(Disclaimer: Ruby probably didn't club a seal to death. Unless she absolutely did, in which case I stand corrected and she totally killed a seal.)
Attending a grad party in what appears to be a marquee in a garden and clubbing a seal aren’t really comparable. I’m glad you’ve stayed at home and not seen anyone throughout the past 18 months though! I suppose they should’ve just held it as a wedding, then it would’ve been legal? Some of the rules have been ridiculous and it looks like there were only ten or so people there so I’m letting this one go.

Ruby ED baiting: problematic.
Ruby taking money from a Holocaust charity: problematic.
Ruby going to a small gathering in a friends garden / not wearing a mask outdoors when it’s not a legal requirement to: whatever.
