Just an idea but is there anyone here that would be good at writing a letter about children being used as performers online with no regulation? Then we could all send it to our MP (I'm sure thousands across tattle would want to) and hopefully one of them will pick up the cause.
I've been working on this for a while and had a very productive meeting with two local MPs where we agreed to put something together to put before Parliament. This was off the back of the Online Harms White Paper which recommended Ofcom take over as regulator of online platforms.
Existing Ofcom rules around children clearly state that the interests of the child are paramount and even if a parent wants a child to perform their wishes can be overruled by the regulator. This is in line with the law around safeguarding generally and also the shift from the idea that the parent has 'rights' to the notion, stemming from the amended children's act, that parents have responsibilities, not 'rights' over the child.

In the States they call it 'paramountcy', the notion that the needs of the child are paramount. There are so many examples in family vlogs where the needs/best interests of the child are ignored,. Privacy, freedom from ridicule, ability to develop autonomy, the right to dignity and freedom from exploitation for profit, and many more.
My aim is to bring the same regulations into the online world that already exist in the offline world.

I have had contact with all major stakeholders including the NSPCC and the National Network for Children in Employment and Entertainment and have had an overwhelmingly positive response to the need for change.

Things have been temporarily halted due to the General Election but I'm all ready to go in the new year. I also have an academic interest in some of the issues that family vlogging throws up such as the 'gaze' of the viewer mediated by the parent, the abuse of parental power, and how family vloggers typify the libertarian, free market impulse of the tech giants where traditional regulatory principles and accountability are ignored in favour of creating your own moral universe, not answerable to anyone, in the pursuit of huge personal gains. Its no accident that many family vloggers, especially in the States, choose to homeschool their kids.

Anyway..I won't derail the thread. If anyone wants to get involved please message me. There's strength in numbers and I am finding it hard doing it all alone.

I have a poem for you too Simon...

There once was a man called Fod,
Whose wife once thought she was God,
She picked on some women
Now she’s no longer winning,
So now Simon must post on his tod.

Do you know what is racist? That I can’t say that CB is a cunt without it being racist. I don’t have a problem with the colour of her skin, she could be blue for all I care, but I think that she’s a shitty person and I have the right to say that. Treating her differently (ie not calling her a cunt) because she is a WOC is racism surely. Are we not allowed to dislike people of different races now?

Is their pr Grace O'Leary or something like that? She'll have been in full incident management mode since the story broke. "Simon, for now, you keep quiet".
"Clemmie, post this... I'll write it for you, put it on your stories so no-one can comment". "We'll wait a respectful amount of time Simon, then you're going to have honour those contracts. 48 hours should do. You're going have to acknowledge what Clemmie did, but distance yourself from it at the same time. Highlight how hard is been. Deflect things a bit. Set the narrative in motion that she's been struggling with her MH because she's been relentlessly trolled for 3 years". "Clemmie, I'm afraid you'll have to lie low for quite a bit longer. Don't close your account it shows guilt and shame. We need to get you back on your feet by highlighting the negative affects on your mental health from behind trolled online. Then, maybe we can get you a comeback interview with someone at Cosmo or grazia.... Just keep quiet and leave it to me, we'll have them eating out of your hand again in no time!"

... Or something like that!!

Poor MOD can't even hide in a cupboard as sodding FOD is in there already, dressed as a salted caramel mince pie ready for Christmas ads with ALDI.

Is it just me or is anyone else just fed up with the whole ‘instamum’ brigade? I have Facebook and Instagram accounts and find it’s only on Instagram that these Mums constantly bleat about how hard their lives are with 1, 2, 3 or even more children. They are always the ones who have husband/wife/partner/family for support whilst at the same time are enjoying gifts/clothes/holidays from various brands in exchange for their posts or stories gushing about said freebies. Clemmie and her (now unfriended) cohorts have all been guilty of this and it really boils my p**s 😡 I have followed some of them and at times felt I was envious of their lives and wondered if I was in their position would I accept these free things? Over the last few days watching the Hooper shit and whilst I feel sorry for the friends she has betrayed I am so glad that l live a boring life with my little family and friends and would never want my life to be under scrutiny by people I don’t know. There are so many lovely accounts on Instagram and I’ll stick with them thanks 😊 I was a single Mum of 3 and I just got on with it. I almost lost 2 of my children 2 years ago to serious illness and it was the most devastating time of my life but I just got on with it. Some of these women don’t know the half of it or how lucky they are 🤷🏻‍♀️

Been watching “I’m a celebrity” and wondering why Ant can get found guilty of drunk driving and crashing into a car with a child in it and everyone stand by him. Yet MOD acts a bit bitchy behind her mates’ back and all her friends unfollow and disown her?

And it's all gone wrong for CB tonight, following the revelation about her previous employment.
I don't see why though, there's no shame in sex work, it's legitimate work. Especially considering how many women sleep with complete loser men every day for free. Fair play to anyone who profits financially from the patriarchy. She's got nothing to feel ashamed about.

Not wishing to moderate the thread but the terrible snobbery on display here the last few pages has been grim to say the least.

Their follow list for the reno account is hilarious, it’s a tick list of middle class wankery. Get down to Homebase like the rest of us plebs!

I notice they follow Ikea too, maybe they will invent new lines just for them: Gräbbi fruit bowls and Flogyakíds wardrobes

Vülva curtains...

Christ on a bike! I'm stuck at my in-laws and so have resorted to faking a migraine just so I can hide in their spare room and read, read, read.

Gimmie's instalife is going to pieces so fast that bystanders will get hit by the shrapnel.
