Instagram is a funny old place. You have to be so careful. Somehow from looking at random comment on this I’ve ended up on Nick Knowles page for longer than I care to admit and have been watching allsorts of Nick Knowles antics. I feel a little dirty and ashamed. Beware.

I have just read this on Esther Coren’s blog and she’s showing actual mercy given she’s been someone on the receiving end of very public bullying from an actual blue ticker. Good for her, somebody showing some actual humanity.

Not very nice for people she was mean about, (reading horrible things about yourself is, well, horrible, especially as it turns out it was from someone who actually knows you), but I really felt for her. It was such a risky and desperate thing to do - it struck me as just the sort of total, massive loss of sense and perspective that Instagram encourages. I have had a glimpse of what those major instagrammer lives are like and the pace is relentless, the online abuse is relentless. I actually reckon that she wasn't the only one driven to it, she's just the only one who has been caught.’

I never ‘got’ the reno in any way, even when still following MOD with interest, after they moved. Their move initially really piqued my interest, because I love period properties and doer uppers. We have always had to properly renovate, starting with a broken dump, because we can’t afford to buy something already lovely or usually even live-able! What I’ve never understood with the SODs, is where was there anything that came with them? They have had every single thing new, down to the last picture frame, chair, whatever. When we move to a new shithole, we have to carefully pack up all the beautiful (to us) artwork, all the amazing things we’ve picked up from around the world, all sorts of antiques and handed down things, and then we work towards being able to safely unveil it all in its new home. Where is their life? Where are their hard-won memories and mementos? How can you not have any sentimental value attached to anything? I think the ‘reno’ has really showed MOD up for who she is, I mean HER specifically, because it was always put as being her that was driving the stupid reno. I think that the fact that she hadn’t even attached to so much as a random picture or cushion or anything, just shows what a soulless cow she is. She barely seems attached to her family, to be fair!

I think Alice should come back onto Tattle. You’re one of us now, Clemmie...

The thing I find strange about this image, as someone who has studied art history a fair amount, is the position of Candice’s hand. Jesus is often depicted using this open hand gesture. They’re all surrounding her like she’s the new Messiah.... maybe she is the Insta second coming?

Thank goodness we can rest easy knowing MOD and FOD have the Zen room to sit in and meditate and gather their thoughts, they have the necessary Adult Sitting room to relax in and recoup, then they can wander into the children’s bathroom for a free reminder it’s all for the ‘girls’, before drifting into the gifted kitchen to cook some free delivered food, then watching the gifted tv from the gifted sofa ordering the gifted sky box to turn the gifted nanny on to Peppa Pig to entertain working offspring who earn the money. Use the gifted laptops to answer emails offering more gifted life and book a gifted ‘working’ holiday for the selfless midwife who’s so bitterly miserable and unhappy she resorts to anonymously trolling those who aspire to be her, and some actual close friends.
What the actual fuck. To have so much, yet have so little.

Because historically people accuse POC as being aggressive. I think I'd be pretty aggressive too if every day I had to fight against constant judgement for the colour of my skin too.

The moral of this story is that freebies are not free. Instagram is a prettied up version of Lord of the Flies and behind the pink doors are ruthless influencers who hold a bunch of peonies in one hand and a knife to stab you in the back, in the other. Luckily Mrs Hinch works miracles on blood stains. Thank God for Zoflora. AD.

I think MOD has lost the plot and has, for a long time believed all her own hype . I met her a few times as I did some work with her hospital ( I work in safeguarding ) and although she seemed to be a decent midwife i was concerned that she’ exposed her children to o much online , initially on her blog and then on IG when she started her account , I managed to work out which school her kids went to in London, their dates of birth etc. All the things we preach to children and young people not to share online !! I followed her for a couple of years but got tired of the endless gifts and ads and endless free holidays , she also began to talk down and seem irritated at times with her followers which I think is foolish because they are making you the money , she has been caught out being aggressive before ( threatened violence on a nanny who let her down but swiftly deleted the comments ) and last year she bullied another instagrammer ( Laura Hesketh )who called her out on not being transparent on her ads - MOD DM’d her telling her to f**k off , to me smacks of massive hypocrisy as she peddles all the ‘its cool to be kind’ crap . Sorry long ramble but I’ve been dying to contribute but didn’t know this space existed till now ! It’s grinding my gears some of the MOD and FOD fan girls who call tattle a vipers nest full of nasty women - to the contrary I find the discussion measured and refreshingly honest - am antidote to the saccharin fawning on instagram.

You are not alone. I come here rather than IG or FB. In doing this I have recognised that I have nothing in common with many of my friends and actually relate to a whole bunch of anonymous strangers who can express their darkest feelings about social media cons and not get guilted into silence

‘Keeping this platform exactly what it should be about’ FFS. It’s one of my main gripes that people like FOD have fucking ruined Instagram (the blame doesn’t lie solely at his feet obvs), but it was originally just a photo sharing app. I remember the old days before all the ads and selling your kids for a fast buck and it was much better place. He is exactly the opposite of what IG used to be about.

Too far, Simon. Too far I don’t think his followers need a lecture on how to talk about sex to their kids.

Being an older woman who brought up 5 children in the good old days before mobile phones, social media and Instagram, I’m completely baffled as to how someone can make a career about parenting as if they are some kind of experts.
We’re all winging it and in the process are doing the best we can. I’ve watched the rise and fall of these unbearable couple and can honestly say their behaviour is beyond appalling.
I’ve always lived by the mantra “be kind to people on the way up because you may need them on the way down”
Shame on them because karma is a bitch.
