I find it interesting that, despite clearly needing to close the chapter on her YouTube and influencer career, she takes no responsibility for HER contribution to the exact things that have been bringing her down and preventing her from doing her job - consumer culture, vanity, and perfection in social media. She’s part of the problem too, even if she’s been dealing with her own struggles. I don’t think it helps that she looks like a loaf of bread with the way she dresses.

And no, she can’t do anything without her boyfriend because she has no friends in London.

I know this is really snarky of me and while I really do agree with the saying 'the best workout is the one you do consistently' and it's great that she's more active, it just kind of makes me laugh a little bit that her workout of choice is walking on the treadmill at an incline for 30 minutes. She doesn't do anything else, she lives in one of the most beautiful cities with amazing parks, and has a dog that I'm sure would enjoy long walks and exploring, but you do you Alix.

I think Suzie was a dick to have gotten mad at her for not coming to a birthday party after the loss Alix had gone through. And I don't think Suzie would be a capable of being a good friend given how narcissistic she is (didn't she also hook up with her best friends ex?)
That being said, I agree that Alix doesn't seem to value female/platonic friendships that much. I remember years ago she had posted a screenshot of a text conversation with one of her friends, who had pretended that there was a new Naked Palette coming out so that she could get Alix to actually answer the text.

She seems to put her romantic relationship on a pedestal though for sure. She might be the type to think of romantic love as the be all end all of happiness.

Thank you @CheshireLove the new thread name, I just added Icovetthee in case her old fans were to google her and see whats she is up to.

Anyway, nothing new is happening but we managed to get to a new thread, that's more work than Alix has put into her influencer full-time job in a good while.

(If someone has anything new to add please to it in the comments)

- Alix uploads a video telling that she is motivated and will go back to a schedule, then goes on a month or three vacations.
- Does not do a lot of ADs, but seems to be posting content on brands' pages (like taking pictures for their Instagram, etc.).
- Is still living in London with her boyfriend.
- London is expensive, there have been quite a few discussions about how she is affording her rented apartment:
- she made loads of money from her old content
- she had a "normal" job
- she does jobs for other brands
- she lives off the inheritance from her mother
- she lives of the money from the house sale

She is boring, beige, and now has been infected with the caterpillar brows, she must have caught them from Anna (the Anna edit) 🐛 🐛

This has been posted on someone else’s thread - I wonder if Alix has received a similar email and this is the real reason she’s back....?

Honestly, I used to love her until a moment last year during #BLM when she got called out for posting a "favorites" video during peak #BLM. I am a woman of color, and it was hurtful because she has no problem being gone for months when her own "mental health" is jeopardized but when an entire community is hurting, she was ethically fine with posting content in the name of "having bills to pay". The way she handled her criticism (basically letting her mostly white fans defend her for doing the bare minimum and responding with "my mental health doesn't need to be brought into this") was so unscrupulous. She even archived the post so I don't have screenshots anymore.
Because the world doesn't stop because of a socio-political movement happening in the US, just like presumably you haven't stopped going to work when there are women imprisoned in Iran for standing up to misogynist policies, or are being sterilised in China due to their religion, or are going hungry in the UK due to austerity policies? Would you have been satisfied with her posting a black box on instagram or repeating something cliche and insincere on a youtube video? Bills do still need to be paid, you can question the ethics of being involved in an industry that preaches consumerism, but calling her out for basically not being "performative" when so many UK influencers who posted their "thoughts and prayers" were criticised is a bit much. And yes, the different countries of the UK have their own issues with policing and discrimination, not just based on race, do you care, do you think seeing a wealthy youtuber miles away saying something trite actually makes a difference?

Wow the latest blog, how does someone do basically nothing for an entire year? No work, no study, not travelling, rarely seeing friends or family… What does she do all day while Joe is working? I don’t know if she realises how privileged she is being able to take so much time off to “look after herself”.

I don’t understand, if doing her ‘job’ causes her so much stress and anxiety that she can’t do it for most of the year, surely she needs to find another job? If you’re having that much time off work, there is something seriously wrong that needs addressing.

The way we were all rooting for this girl and sympathetic as she's been through a lot - but dragging this influencer thing while doing 0 work just makes me lose patience for her.

I don’t see it I see Alix as the weight she’s been for years except for that one shitty year when she lost a stone maybe a bit more because her mum died and her boyfriend left her. As awful as that year was emotionally she was her most body confident and would probably like to look like that again which is a shame as she’s perfect but doesn’t look her best when she squeezes her thighs and hips in too tight jeans
I have to say, I can really relate to Alix on this one. I have been overweight my whole adult life, until at 26 years old I lost a drastic amount of weight due to a very stressful period in my life (a break-up, writing my master's thesis, having to move back in with my parents etc.). All my friends and family were telling me I looked great. Then, I slowly started to gain the weight back and finally, during lockdown, I was back to my old weight. I was so ashamed. How could I let myself go this way? I felt so ugly and hated buying new, bigger clothes that would fit me. I felt like such a failure.

So all this said – I can only imagine what it's like to take pictures and video footage of yourself, edit them and try to feel good about yourself when the entire society is telling you that being bigger = bad.

P.S. I think Alix looks gorgeous at any size.

Spare time?! Spare time from what?! She doesn’t do any work!! She just posts an occasional picture of a coffee and a croissant and several lazy swipe up links. It’s a bit of kick in the teeth for those of us who do work for a living.

Only Alix could make Christmas and the holidays into some somber, Tim Burton-esque nightmare time of year. She has a real talent.

I’m not feeling festive after seeing that photo, I’m now depressed.

The virtue signalling on her insta stories today is disgusting. Some people don’t have the choice but to get on with their normal jobs…

“can’t focus on anything else” is a bold thing to say when she never seems to have anything else to focus on.
She originally had content to post today? Sure Alix, sure.

I actually have come to believe that Alix has serious issues— I don‘t mean that in a flippant way or to be mean, but genuinely there is something wrong with what I assume are severe control issues of some sort? It’s beyond perfectionism, but idk how you’d label it. She is obsessed with maintaining a certain control over her ‘aesthetic’ and image or whatever you’d want to call it, to the point where she basically stops working completely, and honestly I know people assume she is just calm and chill on camera but at this point I’m realizing she is robotic and won’t do anything but speak gently at a low volume in a beige-neutral room in a loose neutral sweater because anything else escapes that bubble of control. And she pretends to just be calm and pleasant but I feel like there is something else going on there, it’s like you can’t imagine her losing that control for a second even to like… laugh uproariously or weirdly? You know what I mean?

The thing is, she is financially stable from being a relatively successful YouTuber back in the day, so she is not yet ‘forced’ to deal with those issues as others might be who find themselves unable to do their day-to-day activities because they aren’t getting an income.

How awful to find life so uninteresting.
I am twice her age and despite having health/mental health issues find every day full of interest and new experiences. I’m volunteering for 4 different organisations, pursuing my hobbies and am excited for every day I wake up.
If she isn’t already, she needs to seek help.
