Maybe some people would rather put up with the mild inconvenience of wearing a mask to protect others. Seems like a pretty easy thing to to and a pretty pointless thing to question for absolutely no reason imo. To lie about being exempt because you don’t want to wear a mask is pretty low imo. I would rather do what I can to protect people around me.
I would rather be labelled a sheep for caring about people around me than be selfish and lie about having a medical exemption

I dont understand why everyone isnt just saying fuck this and whipping their masks off? Im confused as to how masks are helping if this virus is so easy to contract. I dont understand why if we are having 2 deaths a day or even 200 deaths a day this is such a huge concern that we must lock the world down? Theres deadlier things killing more people daily so why is the world up in arms over covid?

I dont understand why people arent questioning anything...why people just do as their told because a man on telly said so? What about all the things that arent put on mainstream media, why do they not believe these things are happening?!

Im worried i will be ostracised from society for refusing a vaccine. I keep seeing the explanation why people fall for conspiracies by experts being that it's not socio-economic status or education, it's feeling helpless, powerless. Which is fine and makes sense.

But I think there's more to it, like this quote.

There's real ways in which the world is fcked up, it is known by now that some big things really happened, eg the US did actually experiments, with vaccines in Pakistan and parts of Africa in the deprived areas and experimented, the US also experimented on its own citizens without their knowledge or consent with nuclear radiation experiments, then cases of natives being made infertile against their will and without their knowledge, wars that have been started on false premises (Iraq for instance), even the Nato bombing countries going against all international law and never facing any type of consequences or war trials, then one recent civil war and one side gets massive punishment and the other gets a slap on the wrist even though atrocities by both sides were equally disturbing, plus all the ways in which governments and corporations fck with citizens, and this is just stuff from the late 1900s to early 2000s (and now).

I think stuff like this is a big reason why people then do believe in (some) conspiracies, because these things are known and written about even by the "MSM", so then people think they are "in" on the "next big secret" or whatever.

Believing all US politicians are pdos except Trump is proper insane.

At the same time, to take something very current that just broke the news, how often does one read in celeb comments sections "Armie Hammer is an abusive pos and cheats on his wife", they seem happy, then the divorce and now all these things coming out (to keep this brief).

The spread of mis- and disinformation, plus the flood of actual valid information, we just can't deal to process all the real stuff, but then it's all in the same place, the mis- and disinformation plus the true stuff, then knowledge of actual shyte that went and still goes on and you're quicker in a hole believing shyte than anyone thinks possible.

Imo some of the major reasons to not believe the Covid and Q conspiracies (which are too insane to believe anyway, but let's entertain the idea that they might be possible) are:
Q: Can anyone really believe that all politicians are pdos except one, and that one person has the power to put a stop to this? What makes T so powerful and able to put a stop to sth like this to begin with? How is it statistically and realistically possible that all politicians are pdos and perform human sacrifices and make a serum made from babies blood to "stay young and healthy" and yet they all are and look old as hell and frankly some look like shyte. I mean this literally doesn't even compute.

Covid: So the whole world is in on this conspiracy, even though some countries (eg USA and China, and there are many countries that hate each others' guts due to shyte history between them) can't stand each other at all and constantly try to undermine each other and reveal shyte about each other via their intelligence, yet, through some miracle, all countries of this world are in on the same conspiracy, can't agree on trade, but can agree on this?
Plus the chip thing. This was entertaining in the 1990s, but these morons don't seem to be able to grasp that they are chipped far better and more efficient through their computers, mobile phones, social media, apps. TikTok is actually used by the Chinese government as spying tool, sounds like another conspiracy, but hey. People film their surroundings, put their schedules in their mobiles, connect all their accounts and yet somehow some tiny-ass chip with no ability except tracking locations is somehow going to be implemented, even though your phone and phone/computer usage already does that? What is even the point of a chip in this day and age of mobiles and social media????
Chipping is equivalent to getting rid of your phone in favour of a fax machine. Chips are old useless technology and can't do much except track location and do payments and open doors (as used in Sweden by some nutty people), literally what your phone already can do.

Edit: Plus, epi- and pandemics have existed all throughout human history. They exist specific to plants as well (there are several flora pandemics currently raging as well, one affecting trees in Europe and one affecting bananas in South America). What on earth makes these people think that a pandemic is so impossible? I literally heard people say "this never happened in my life!! [that's why it's impossibly real]" "because it will disappear soon [meant summer 2020], it's proof that it's a virus made in a lab" and then by the same person "because it goes on this long [said ca. There are constantly some epi- and pandemics and yet people lose their shyte and think it's impossible just because now such a major one happened in their lifetime. Open a book, read some history ffs.

Funniest thing I saw recently was someone on Instagram claiming with a straight fact that the flu vaccine has given people the new strain of covid and that’s why numbers are increasing.

A few days later they were posting claiming the virus doesn’t exist at all. They often flip flop on whether it’s real or not depending on what the conspiracy of the day is. Can’t have it both ways

I love a conspiracy theory as much as the next person. But please I am an A&E nurse. I also at first said this is just a flu we will be fine. This is more then a flu. We don't have enough ITU beds or ventilators for the volume of sick people being brought in. People are dying on every single shift. We are putting 2-3 people on ventilators in my small hospital each shift. This isn't the government's way of crashing our economy or coming up with a vaccine (chip - load of bullshit) or cashless society. We will be doing well to end this virus with 20k dead in the UK. I refuse to believe any government wants that. The argument that I do think and kind of want to believe is this is mother nature's way of telling us all, fuck you I nearly burned Australia and you still didn't listen, your way of life is killing me so this is a warning

I know this isn't necessarily the right place for this but I know you'll understand... I keep reading comments asking why people are so bothered if BJ and co were enjoying cheese and wine together in May 2020.

The reason I am "so bothered" is because it's the same May 2020 that I was completely alone while battling severe depression and suffering horrible side effects from the first anti-depressants I was given. I couldn't eat, sleep or even shower at this point, I was so unwell. There were times I honestly didn't know how I would make it to the next day. My Mom is still struggling with guilt and regret, wishing that she had just come and collected me to stay with her.

We were just doing what we felt we had to at the time, but seeing what those who were responsible for keeping us safe were doing, I feel so angry and upset for the version of me that was so scared and lonely. It didn't have to happen yet me and my family are still coping with the effects of it

Apologies, I know there will be others who experienced things much worse at the same time, but I just needed to get this off my chest.

Some good news finally!

I mean I asked at least three or four times in the conspiracy thread the other day to explain to me the purpose of the great reset or why this is happening and I just got told I didn’t understand economics and they’d laugh at me when it all comes true?

I mean again they didn’t answer the question and provided no facts. Of course all of the facts have been hidden by the media and government I am a sheep though so what do I know!!

Moon landing conspiracy theories:

- firstly, the moon landing occurred during ‘the space race’. The US were so desperate to win this, even though they didn’t quite have the right technology to do so. So they faked it, in a movie studio. These are a few reasons why....

- the American flag is ‘waving’ in the wind. BUT there’s no air on the moon? Or wind?! So how is it moving in the picture ...

- the back drop of the pictures is pure black night sky. No stars what so ever. Suspicious seen as they’re in space with no manmade light pollution so stars should be visible ?!

- The ‘C’ Rock. In one of the photographs there is a rock in the foreground - with a perfectly shaped C on it. Why would there be a letter carved into a rock on the moon, unless aliens really do exist? Many people believe the so called rock is actually a ‘prop’ and has been labelled accordingly.

- reflection in astronauts helmet of a stage light. It’s not too clear to see but what else would be that kind of shape on the moon.

- Shadows in the photographs were a BIG give away. When you have one light source eg. The sun, you’ll have one shadow pathway for any particular object in the way. However on the photograph, there are multiple shadows for objects (rocks) which suggests there is more than one light source, possible stage lighting.

- there was no fallout out or debris disturbed on the moon where the craft landed. So you’re telling me a space craft landed on the Rocky/dusty moon surface without disturbing the ground/no crater? Very strange.

- cross hairs - when you take a photograph they are supposed to be in front of the object, however one cross hair is ‘behind’ and object sticking out... therefore it suggests it is a fake or edited picture.

- when you speed up the footage of them ‘moon walking’ they are actually moving at normal walking pace where gravity exists

- some people have analysed the footage and have actually seen set ‘wires’ which hoisted the ‘astronauts’ up to make it look like they were space walking. How true that is I don’t know.

what I don’t understand is, with all the money, billion dollar projects sending shuttles/satellites up to space - and the knowledge/experiments we do on the ISS - why haven’t we been back? It literally makes no sense. This was the 60’s - with very limited technology compared to now, and they somehow managed to get up there before the Russians!? But right now, there’s no way we could ever go back?? Why is no one questioning this?!

- also in response to how they pulled it off. The whole of NASA would not have known. Only very few people, cloak and dagger money deals likely occurred. The government are very good at covering up things or killing people off who know too much

I met up with a friend I have known since school before lockdown actually around the end of November and I was actually horrified at the change in her.....she practically forced her young daughter to hug me which shocked me....not because of the social distancing measures but because she has never done this before.....but then she started asking if I was wearing a mask....quite forcefully I said I was....then asked if my daughter would not be accepting the vaccine....(she is a student nurse) what frightened me the most about her state of mind was when she leaned in and told me she was giving me some information and I was to make sure I was stocked up fully with food, camping equipment etc as on either the 16th or 21st December the power was being turned off..... I asked why? And she told me to go home and look up the great reset!! It was scary to see someone who used to be so rational and quite knowledgeable reduced to this quite manic person!! She said she had deleted all her mental health nurse friends from facebook and that made me think she knows deep down that they would be concerned for her......all her facebook is now is conspiracy theories about the vaccine etc!! At the end of the conversation her daughter who is around 8 actually said.....have you watched the hunger games?? I said yes and she said well that is what the world is going to be like very shortly!!! it's one thing to have these ideals but quite another to pass them on to your young kids

I am an A&E nurse. I don't do it for the claps. I have been through many A&E winters. I fear for my colleagues, the NHS, the general public. Especially if their listening to people like you. I am telling facts because I'm sick of people thinking this is nothing and whatever about you harming yourself if your not practising social distancing and self isolation you are harming 100s others. Im not scare mongering. I'm just asking people to stay at home and not listen to people who think they don't have to. And also what people are saying - are these elderly, do they have medical conditions. Yes but there is also healthy people dying with it. In their teens, in their 20s and 30s. All healthy. But believe what you like.

As I didn't get any responses on the last thread I'm going to shamelessly repost in case anyone can give me some answers to my concerns:

When will we be back to normal? Can someone give me an estimated date? I would love nothing more than to be wrong so if I can have an end date to work towards and panic after, that would be great. The trouble is the government have moved the goalposts so many times and people have accepted this without question. What confuses me about this is that lockdowns cost £2.4b per day, economic collapse is no longer a risk but a certainty. The government know this. Indefinite lockdowns with no exit strategy are suicide so a carefree attitude of 'when the vaccine takes effect, it is what it is' is a death sentence.

What possible justification is there that this can’t be a totalitarian regime emerging? Totalitarianism has reared it's ugly head many times throughout history and ordinary people have had to fight back for their freedom. It's actually successfully got 1.4b Chinese people under control right now. But that couldn't possibly happen here... Why? Because we have a White British government? Because the UK is somehow superior/more civilised than the rest of the world? I think there are some... undertones to this line of thinking. Weirdly it could never happen here but yet we're following the CCP model to the letter right now.

What is stopping the UK from total economic collapse? The government have spent in excess of £600b on this farce in full knowledge that 40%+ businesses will never reopen and millions will be out of work, unable to pay back the deficit. Now 40% can't possibly be correct as there is no end date to lockdown (including tiers where most businesses still can't open or have to trade at a loss) so eventually the figure will be much higher. Furlough is just propping up businesses while they get into more debt. Eventually almost all will collapse once furlough ends. And when the inevitable happens, will you be fine with it? It was worth it? Just incompetence, they did what they had to do?

And add another:

Why am I a 'conspiracy nut job' for asking these questions? Seriously? When people can't debunk what I'm saying all I get it "quiet conspiracy theorist! You're scaring people! You're gonna make them commit suicide!" Would you have said that to any Venezuelans or Zimbabweans trying to sound the alarm pre-collapse? (I mean probably tbh) But because there's a 'greater good' involved I'm supposed to ignore the oblivion we're sleepwalking into?

We have never deliberately and knowingly annihilated our own economy over a virus before Why am I the only one finding that bizarre? We were told the first lockdown would plunge us into a depression greater than that of the 1920s but yet it's been radio silence on the MSM on that point since then. Does that not arouse suspicion? Almost as if if the public knew what was on the horizon most would take the risk of getting COVID?

How I feel about COVID19.

Do I believe there is a virus? Of course
Do I believe that people are sick? Yes.
Do I believe people are dying? Yes.
Do I believe these deaths are sad? Yes.
Do I believe nurses and healthcare workers are terrified? Yes.
Do I also believe we are being lied to about it? Yes.
Do I believe they're lying about the numbers?Yes.
Do I also believe the media is spinning this? Yes.
Do I believe this is being used as a cover for something else horrific? Yes
Do I believe this is to strip people of more rights? Yes.
Do I believe there's a bigger picture? Yes.
Do I believe this is more about control than anything else? Yes.
Do I believe we just set the most dangerous precedent for our liberty and freedom ever in the history of the world?
Yes.... And I am 1 million times more terrified of that than I could be of any virus.
Because when we make it out of this I don’t ever want to have to tell my Grandchildren stories about when we were free.

I have done my best to respect the diverse opinions regarding COVID-19 over these past few months, but I have these nagging questions about it... A friend posted this and it brilliantly sums up my train of thought:

The smallpox inoculation was discovered in 1796 the last known natural case was in 1977.
We have a flu vaccine that is only 40 to 60% effective and less than half of the UK population choose to get one, and roughly 20,000 British will die of the flu or flu complications.
Oh, you'll mandate it, like other vaccines are mandated in order to attend school, travel to some foreign countries, etc.
We already have a growing number of anti vaxxers refusing proven, tested, well known vaccines that have been administered for decades but aren’t necessarily safe!
Do you really think people will flock to get a fast tracked, quickly tested vaccine, whose long term side effects and overall efficacy are anyone's best guess?
How long are we going to cancel and postpone and reconsider??
What if January's numbers are the same as December's?

What if next March is worse than this one was?

I understand Covid can be deadly or very dangerous for SOME people, but so are peanuts, strawberries, and so is shellfish.
We take risks multiple times a day without a second thought.
We know driving a car can be dangerous, we don't leave it in the garage.
We know the dangers of smoking, drinking and eating fried foods, we do it anyway.
We speed, we don't fasten our seatbelts.
Is hugging Gran really more dangerous than rush hour on the motorway?
Is going out with friends after work more risky than 4 day old petrol station sushi?
Or operating a chainsaw?
When and how did we so quickly lose our free will?
Is there a waiver somewhere I can sign that says, "I understand the risks, but I choose a life with Hugs and Smiles, and the Community Fair and Concerts and Parties."
I understand that there is a minuscule possibility I could die, but I will most likely end up feeling like crap for a few days.
I understand I could possibly pass it to someone else, if I'm not careful, but I can pass any virus onto someone else.
I'm struggling to see where or how this ends.
We either get busy living or we get busy dying.
When it's your time, you don't get any mulligans, so I guess I would rather spend my time enjoying it and living in the moment and not worrying about what ifs and maybes, and I bet I'm not the only one.
