So I’ve just been looking through some of my old photos from back in the 90s and early 00s and came across these.

Me in my run like FCUK tshirt (the top I worn when the old man told me off 😂)

Big T club! Anyone remember going there when you went abroad so our parents could get pissed up without us running around 😂

And the classic wear a bin bag for Halloween. My mum even put a birthday party hat on us one year 😂😂

For nostalgia reasons, I watched a few episodes of the OC a few months ago… I don’t understand how our trousers stayed up during those years - they were barely on our hips.
I miss my studded belt and Razr V3, that was an excellent phone, however I’m so glad mobile phones weren’t a big thing when I was growing up.
I think those us of who grew up in the 00s had the best of both worlds. I would hate to be a teenager now

I remember I think it was Sugar there was a Rate or Slate page and girls sent in a pic and their teen boy columnist would say whether or not he’d date them :) ‘Lindsay, 14”- She has too much makeup, maybe a bit too slaggish’ 😆

While we’re on the subject of shops. I used to love going in here to get my new pencil case and stationary for school. Said pencil case below ⬇

how much of a trip would it be to walk into one of these shops and have it filled with stock and exactly the way it would have been on a random day in 1998

I remember 00s me being so sassy haha.
Anyone else get called a bitch then come back with something like “yeah that’s right I am a bitch…. Babe In Total Control of Herself” 💁‍♀️😂
I had a shit load of t shirts with equally sassy slogans on them. And most of them were probably my MSN name at some point too 🤣

I remember being in college and going on chat rooms on the computers, ended up talking to some boys from miles and miles away and they actually drove up to see me and my friends one day. Can’t believe how fucking stupid we were 😂 Come to think of it, the amount of times I found myself in cars with boys I’d known for less than five minutes, I’m surprised I’m still alive. What an idiot I was 😂

Retired alternative/mosher type here and I agree the early 2000s was an amazing time for gigs and festivals. I remember seeing Fall Out Boy in a tiny venue in Manchester before they got really big. I met my first love when I was 17 on the Kerrang forums and got 2 buses to meet him at an alternative club 😅
I know it wasn't a perfect era, it was a crap time to be plus sized for one, but I feel in general the vibe was more fun and less self conscious than today.

Oh god, Mayfairs whyyyyy. Were you even a teen in the 2000s if you didn't go down the park after school to get fucked on Bacardi Breezers and smoke Mayfairs? I wouldn't smoke them now if you paid me, as an adult I have much more refined tastes 💅 I remember before the law changing the age restriction to 18 in late 2007, I was going mad stocking up on them because it was just before my 17th birthday. As if they're over £11 these days. A pack used to cost less than a fiver!

And it cost like 50p to send a ‘multimedia’ message with an image 😂 I used to get so annoyed when I had to waste a text/credit on say telling my dad when I was coming home and he used to remind me that he paid for the phone and that was what it was for
