It is known now as the tale of Dorian Sugg. Long ago, back in the mists of time, Louise and Zoe were trying to enchant a portrait of Zoe. If the spell worked, Painting Zoe would age, while Real Zoe would remain as her beautiful 2012 Zoella heydey self forever. Alas, Louise mispronounced a magic word and now real Zoe ages normally but is doomed to remain at a 2012 level of emotional maturity. Just coming on to say wtf is this Lush campaign about? There are so many things wrong with it?
Firstly - how can this have been ‘two years of work’ - it’s a bath bomb and a video about taking a day off social? What is with Zoe and Alfie’s obsession with every thing they do being 2 years, 5 years, whatever in the making? Just the lamest attempt to make themselves sound busy and important.
Secondly - how does the bath bomb connect to the digital detox campaign?
Thirdly - the concept of the digital detox is hardly anything original is it? I mean it’s a decent enough thing but it’s been done to death. Fine to do - but not really groundbreaking in any sense.
And finally - what exactly has Zoe even brought to the table with this. How can she call it hard work? Doing what, a few bits to camera and sitting in a meeting or two to pick scents for the bath bomb?
The whole thing just seems really random and irrelevant.

This is my first post in this thread - and I'm sorry for it being about something meaningless (well, we're talking about Zoe after all) - BUT I CANNOT STAND HOW A 30-YEAR-OLD WOMAN WEARS FAKE GLASSES ALMOST EVERY SINGLE DAY BECAUSE IT IS "COOL". SERIOUSLY. IT GETS ON MY NERVES EVERY SINGLE TIME. People can wear whatever the fuck they want and whatever makes them comfortable. The thing is the glasses do not make her comfortable AT ALL, on the contrary. And they actually can be harmful to her sight SINCE SHE DOESN'T NEED THEM. This is legit a style that only 13-year-old pull off because, well, THEY ARE FUCKING TEENAGERS. How can this bitch, with a full makeup on, wear fake glasses WITHOUT NEEDING THEM?? It's uncomfortable as hell. I wear glasses and fortunately I don't need them on my day-to-day, I wear them for screenings/reading and it's not something that I LOVE. I simply have to do it because I NEED TO.

Well I personally loved digital detox day. My insta feed was full of real people I know and brands/celebs/influencers not jumping on the bandwagon. Cleansed of all the gleambots and Zoe stans who had detoxed off to pose in sunflower fields with books they aren’t actually reading and then have a Zoella lush bath bomb bath all to post the day after detox day. Lovely. I’m going to go through and unfollow a load. Thanks Zoe for encouraging me to unfollow all the crap accounts.
Truly a ridiculous campaign for influencers to be talking about the damage of social media and taking a day off. It’s them mostly causing the damage! And it’s nice of them to go away and remind us all to unfollow but the linking with buying a product as part of the detox is ridiculous. Ok it was partly going to charity but why not just partner with the actual charity! It’s just trying to get people into lush stores and buying other products.
Also the idea of a detox from social media at the moment is in poor taste. Many people as still social distancing, in quarantine, furloughed, worries about losing their jobs, have lost loved ones, are having tough days as key workers, social media is a life line for many at the moment as a way of seeing friends and socialising and feeling involved in the world, without meeting up and spreading the virus. Going on social media is a frankly harmless activity compared to many things at the moment

Case and point, a post by Polly about digital detox day and how it left her depressed as she can’t see people at the moment because of the global pandemic. People like Zoe think life has gone back to normal because they can have Christmas slumber parties but it hasn’t for many.

I'm trying to get through this vlog but I really can't stand them together with their open mouthed silent laughing and irritating fake accents, but what really stood out to me was how much of a suck up Mark is to Zoe!
this screenshot is from when Zoe is singing along to a song on the radio and Mark just stops singing and gasps in awe at her, and she looks over at him with this big grin on her face...its so pathetic to watch him idolise her when she is literally doing the most mundane thing

I find it REALLY sad that people need an influencer to tell them to have a day off social media... A girl said she's "nervous." Jesus Christ. To me it shows how young and immature her followers are.

So she spent the whole day thinking about social media, taking photos for social media, visiting a giant billboard of her own photoshopped face. Having to reign in her rogue thumb trying to go on Instagram all on its own. She discovered the art of conversation 
probably all about social media as well.
Maybe she really does have a severe fucking problem from the sounds of it, she needs social media rehab rather than detox.
