William and Kate #8

And the “she barely had a career” argument ignores the context. She met William at university and they started dating very young. After university, she was constantly hounded by the media, so working for her parents in Berkshire made sense because it gave her more privacy and protection. She also knew that if she married William, she would eventually have to give up any normal career anyway, because royal life comes with duties, restrictions, and constant scrutiny.
Gods forbid that someone works for their family business!

My daughter would like a husband when she’s a lot older and I’m considering Prince George for her. I’m currently researching his future school and university, including his gap year. I will then direct my daughter in the same directions. George will of course choose her, they will marry and she will be the future Queen.

(This is how funny it sounds when people talk of Kate and Carole making it their goal)

Thing is, Kate probably did fancy William and so chose to go to same Uni as him. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that when you’re 18/19. She said she went bright red when she first met him. It sounds like a normal crush to me and lucky for Kate she ended up catching his eye. At that point in time we didn’t know that much about his likes and dislikes or his taste in girls, so not sure how Carol is supposed to have orchestrated it all to ensure William decided he fancied her?!

I think the whole thing with Carol is quite misogynistic to be honest. I also think that there’s a snobbery there as well in the fact that she comes from a more working class background and that’s she was *gasps* an air hostess. I don’t think the Middleton’s were as well off as they like to make out but no different from a lot of parents in those times who had a bit of money and worked hard to get their kids ahead in life. There’s a lot of parents who strive to get their kids into those sort of schools and environments for the connections that they make there, and not all of it is with marriage on the mind. Particularly in England you’re mixing with the future high rollers in those circles. I don’t think what Carol did was anything more than what a lot of parents do for their kids. I don’t think that it was William in particular that they were lining up, but I’d also imagine that she was quite pleased when it all did happen as she did strive for her family to get ahead. When a man does that it’s seen as great. But when a women does it’s seen as a negative.

Absolutely misogynistic, typical toff's attitude to anyone not in their inner circle - 'Doors to manual' and Wisteria Sisters' was often bannered about against Pippa, Catherine and Carol.

Always a shock to visit this thread and see how real people will actually go crazy to defend members of the royal family 😂
I have found myself defending them - and I am not a royalist.

I certainly wouldn’t say I went crazy defending them, but I feel it’s unfair to betray someone as a wife beater - when it is clearly fabricated.
The talk of choosing to be the next princess of wales is tosh too.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with calling it out. Like I said, I’m not a royalist - but they are real people, who didn’t need tit being made up about them.

As this comment will be deleted from the Daily Fail website, I'll say it here. Am I the only one who thinks their latest family photo looks really contrived? What are they trying to prove.

Yeah it’s just you.

Look like a happy family to me that are enjoying being together.

🥱
If this were true why would they lie in their engagement interview and say they met at university?
But even if it were true there was still no guarantee he would even fancy her!
But you’re always implying she went after him. You just sound jealous!

I think the Wales' are damned if they do and damned if they don't with photographs. I like it, especially as they've included the dogs. But it does look maybe a little too styled.

Again, not wishing to sound like a mad royalist (as I am not one) - but she did not copy his gap year activities. Most of her gap year was spent in Italy. She did spend some time in Chile, as he did - but doing different projects and there at different times.

George looks mortified and doesn’t look relaxed like the rest of them do. He’s a teenager and is probably cringing having to post for this photo

Even if the Middletons (Catherine included).initially did think it a win to have William show interest in her initially, the resulting criticism and scrutiny that descended on the family and extended family would take the shine off it over time.
The criticism aimed at Kate for well...everything, must be hard to watch. At some point they have probably wished some random rich chinless wonder married her rather than the life they have.

Do we.know.that? Or is this another example of your hatred for Kate rearing up.

That 15years on, they're very happy?

I dont think they're trying to prove anything.
I think they are expected to acknowledge their anniversary so put out a nice family photo.

I dont think anyone madly defends them. I think we tire of the bull.

The whole he beats her, for ducks sake. What is this based on? Its tit. Hes cheating on her. Maybe he is but that rumour people cling to was all tit.

And I hate hate hate all the fake concern to justify talking about Catherine's body. Its giving posh spice being asked to weigh herself on TV. Aren't we past this?

She's always been lean. She's had health issues. Millions of bleeping people criticize every move she makes down to the bleeping plasters on her fingers.
Christ I'd be cautious of my weight if I was in her shoes.

William wouldn’t get away with an extra marital affair (and I am not suggesting he would want to). Charles and Diana could not conduct their extra marital relationships away from the gaze of others - and that was without today’s tach.

There is no tea on the couple, but they will have rumours made up about them. I would listen to them, if they had a shred of foundation - but there is nothing.

Why are you even reading a thread on the royals when you clearly don’t like them? 🙄
This isn’t a rave thread, it’s under “Traditional Celebs” and “Public Figure Gossip”. Perhaps you should start a rave thread? Given your incredible undying devotion to these strangers
