Why is your ex an ex?

Recently split with my g/f, and in some respects Tattle was to blame

A few days ago I posted on a thread called something like "where do you see yourself in 5 years time" And I replied by saying I'd like to be back home in South Africa, with a wife and kids etc. (I want kids in the next 5 years as I'm almost pushing 28)

Shortly afterwards I got talking to my girl about where she saw herself in 2025. And she said she wanted to be with me, living together but no kids (She's 24)

And then she swung the same question back at me. Which put in a fix because we had never spoken about our futures before. I guess she was hoping I would say the same as her - which would be a white lie (lack of trust, which is an issue I've had with previous exes). But I confessed to saying I wanted to leave the UK and move back home to SA.

Stunned silences and a few "Sorry? You want to do what?" until the penny finally dropped.

She got angry, which was made abundantly clear when she told me to go duck myself, and hung up on me. And despite my efforts of a reconciliation, she still hasn't replied other than sending text messages of "It's over!", "Don't call me again" and "Go duck yourself!"

That was about a week ago, so perhaps it's not quite over, but I'm not building my hopes. And even if there was some hope it still wouldn't change anything for the future. So it would be good if we could be amicable friends.

We shall see!
So much for any chance of a reconciliation or even friendship

My ex posted a couple of pics to my phone, showing off her new girlfriend along with a "Not missing you at all, witch!"

I was shocked/hurt, but didn't take the bait. Instead I have blocked her.

Time to move on :)

One of my ex's dumped me and flaunted her new relationship in front of me (she had been playing on with him behind my back). She got in contact with me, admitting that she hadn't been able to form decent relationships with men, and all had either walked out of her, mistreated, or cheated on her. I've haven't said to her, but my thought is always 'Karma is a witch'.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to share the full story. However(!) the bullet points:
My husband cheated throughout our relationship- even a month after our Wedding;
He stopped paying the Mortgage; so we lost our home.
Then gave up work because “he only worked to pay a Mortgage”;
Refused to work. I paid for everything.
Complained I was not earning enough.
Then picked up the occasional “cash in hand” or temp role for his own pocket money.
Continued cheating.
Asked for an “Open Marriage”.
I left.

Ooops. Forgot to mention - Throughout our relationship he told me that no one else would ever be interested in me because “you’re not the sort of woman men find attractive” and reminded me how lucky I was to have him (sitting on his butt watching TV whilst I worked). Slapped me whenever I got “too big for my boots”. Sold my belongings. Stole money from me. Lied about *everything* what he had for Lunch, where he’d been, how he’d spent his day, any and every bloddy thing.

What you went through was abuse! I hope you realise how better off without him you are!

Probably sounds a bit ridiculous, but I’d been gifted a very expensive bottle of champagne from my boss, and I was saving it for a special occasion.
I came home from a weekend at work, to find my (now ex) boyfriend ridiculously drunk, having downed many beers and my champagne, on his own, because his football team had a won a match. He couldn’t see what the issue was or understand why I was so angry.
1. It wasn’t his to take.
2. I hate football.
3. There’s absolutely no need to drink that much on your own in the middle of the day.

It just made me think what a selfish wick he was, and I couldn’t bare to even look at him. It’s making me angry again now 🤦‍♀️

Cheated with a friend the day I buried my mother. Forgave him.
Cheated again while I was pregnant with second child. Stupidly forgave him again.
Cheated for last time 6 weeks after we married. Kicked him out.
Weirdly we are now really good friends.

*gulp*
My ex was gay.

I found gay porn on his computer, tried telling me he was bi and nothing more to it. That really did destroy me and I cried for months, stuck around as honestly believed I loved him. As time went on, he struggled during sex, my head was in a spin and started to believe he might be fully gay. Managed to find more gay porn on his computer and he kept pictures of his mates on the computer in a folder called “boys” - very weird, so I knew it was time to end the relationship. I think we were together 3 years. Strangely after we split, he got with another woman!!!!!!!!!! But that only lasted a year. I can now confirm he is actually with a man...........

We lived an hour apart, he would get moody if I didn't reply to his messages instantly, he used to text me all day everyday. He said he wasn't moving out of his parents until they passed away so he could have easily been 40+ and told me I was weird for wanting another baby after I miscarried ours.

Most recent one, after one year he told me “Even though you’re beautiful I don’t fancy you enough and I don’t want to marry my best friend. I wish I could marry you but I worry I’d cheat on you if we got married”. I wish I could say I stormed out, dignity intact, but it was very much him ending it.

bleeping. Brutal.

Because he was a complete twit. Together for 5 years in total. On the night my dad was dying he went out with his mates and turned up at our house pissed, where he then fell asleep and snored all night. Then told me I was hysterical because I wasn't over my dads death a few months down the line. Used to call me a ag when he was pissed every Sunday. Smashed all the doors in because I annoyed him. Then when I eventually plucked up the courage to dump his sorry a he said he'd only move out of I slept with him one last time. I really wanted him to go so I did and really regretted it. I dumped him because I ducked someone else (not sorry) and realised I wasn't going to need him on my life as I would find someone else (he eroded my confidence). He then called me 2 weeks later and asked if he could move back in as I'd had my fun. When I said no he threatened constantly not to pay his half of the mortgage, not to pay the bills he was responsible for etc. Told me I was getting large (I was a size 10). But I met another guy who was 13 years younger then him, sold our house and made a £10000 profit (he made a loss) and went travelling like this
Hmmm....I think we have the same ex 🙈
